  1. Exactly. Culture is just a word for pressers. Let’s see some damn wins.
  2. He is. There’s tons of film to prove it too. Number 51.
  3. Amen. If we had beat Iowa, I’d bet this thread doesn’t exist.
  4. Scott will fill out his staff and the recruiting class. Both will be met with varying levels of praise and criticism. And this will all blow over eventually. There’s a season next year. Special teams, line play, and red zone scoring, just to name a few, will be under the microscope. All this alleged “drama “ will likely become meaningless in the grand scheme of Huskers in’22.
  5. Good points. Injuries are always a risk. I don’t blame him if that’s the route he chooses. I just think there’s some more untapped potential a good OL coach can help bring out. He’s a great athlete. I could see 1st or 2nd round possibly vs 3rd or 4th. With a new OC who’s presumably going to get more control of the O, it can’t hurt him to get some exposure to a different system too. Whatever he decides, I hope it is for the best.
  6. I think it speaks volumes to how much Trev has gotten to know some of these players and how they probably feel comfortable going straight to him with their concerns. Trev did the right thing and decided to be there with them through a difficult time. Help calm the waters. Heck, he probably prefers that to staring at Commissioner Warren’s mug all day. Again, just speculation. None of this really should be too surprising. Nobody’s happy with 3-9.
  7. Cam could significantly improve his draft stock with another season and position coach upgrade.
  8. Pure speculation, but if AM was encouraged to move on and with him being a captain, it may not have set well with some players. Especially if they also lost their position coach. This is big boy business. Probably a first time experiencing something like this for a bunch of 18-20 year olds. Scott is perhaps making some uncomfortable and unpopular decisions in order to keep his job. The head coach coach is afforded that luxury. This too shall pass. I’m choosing to not be concerned with any of this. And I did read the full article. Again, this is just speculation on my part.
  9. Good point. Those coaches aren’t playing this weekend…or anytime in the next 8 months.
  10. If it’s Davis, we may not know for sure for 8-9 more days as Army-Navy is next weekend. It likely would leak before then, though.
  11. No, but there’s some speculation out there. It seems like we never know for sure who’s idea it really was in these situations.
  12. This is pretty much where I am. Although, yes it’s probably too late at this point.
  13. I haven’t seen many stating AM was the problem, this season anyway. If they did. They were wrong. He’s a good QB, but with how NU used him in the offense, he wasn’t the solution either. I’m not sure any QB could have been. Any QB on the roster would have been 3-9 this year. But, AM probably kept the scores in the L’s a lot closer than others might have The problems are elsewhere and better get corrected or nothing that’s happening now will matter. I don’t blame AM for transferring or HCSF changing the offense and likely looking to the portal for a change. The clock’s ticking.
  14. Georgetown has a football team?
  15. “Pejorative.” Not gonna lie. New word for me. I literally had to look that up.
  16. Just so we’re all on the same page and no feelings get hurt.
  17. I agree with this take. Coach sucks at everything that he’s not good or okay at.
  18. We must move on from AM. He wasn’t the problem, but not the solution either. 7 wins should be the minimum with next year’s schedule. That’s not happening with anyone on the roster now. Maybe the new OC can help bring a good portal QB.
  19. I agree and I hope I’m wrong about any national perception to the contrary. But when was the last time we had a top coach interested in NU during one of our many vacancies? The best TO himself could do was get Bo.
  20. If it comes to that, then yes, I agree. I think TA will really need to “sell” NU as a destination job in order to attract interest from top flight coaches. Personally I think NU is a top tier job, although I’m clearly biased. I’m sure the national perception of that is quite different, though.
  21. So what you’re saying is that your belief that HCSF’s unwillingness to deviate from his failing system or philosophy—whatever you want to call it—that will ultimately lead to an end of his NU coaching tenure a year from now, is based only on an assessment of games that happened over two years ago. You’re either yanking our chains or you have access to some really good inside information. Care to elaborate?
  22. I agree. I'm also am mostly pro Frost, but that's waning. His neglect of special teams is why. I simply don't get it.
  23. A year from now, we may very well be saying you were right, but doesn't your stance hinge on HCSF being either too bullheaded to or mentally incapable of becoming a better coach while working on his shortcomings? I'll present the argument that he was, to most everyone's surprise (including me) not close to a complete coach worthy of a P5 job in 2018. Fast forward to today, and while many deficiencies still exist, Scott has improved in some areas--although not as quickly as we could have hoped. He's still not near the top of the B1G as far a coaching goes, but with his steady, albeit slow, Improvement, why can't this work for him? You seem pretty certain it will not work. Which I can only conclude that you either know him well enough to say he literally is in over his head, or for whatever reason you just don't like him as a person. I hate to assume your reasons and maybe I'm wrong on both counts, but help me out a little here.
  24. One would think. However, it would be something NU has never done. Money talks, but many seem to think most "proven" P5 coaches would consider NU a lateral move at best. Maybe Trev and the new facility changes that.
