  1. Exactly. However this is 100% coaching, or lack there of, on special teams.
  2. Something indeed is wrong. I don’t buy the “not fully healthy “ facade we’ve been hearing unless they’re talking about between his ears. I don’t claim to have all the answers, but I would point to two possibilities: 1. Duval bulked him up too much. At an offseason function heard Duval talking about how AM squats 500lb. Anyone with eyes can see AM is noticeably slower than last year and lost that impressive burst he had. The QB doesn’t need tree trunks for legs. Get him back to 210 or so and get that speed back. It was one of his best assets and is what made him so dangerous. 2. Verduzco overcomplicated things and screwed up his mechanics and decision making. Some players you just need to let play and don’t need to take a 700 question test about every scenario. Because clearly AM has shown indecisiveness this season that wasn’t as evident in 2018. I don’t know how you fix this one. Just don’t repeat with the next guy I suppose. Natural abilities and instincts are better than a Ph.D. In quarterbacking theory. Who knows what it really was, but these are my suspicions.
  3. Isn’t that what message boards are for?
  4. Maybe there's hope for the GOP after all. https://www.yahoo.com/news/republicans-for-the-rule-of-law-trump-hiding-ad-074743515.html
  5. I'm pretty sure Frost calls all of the offensive plays.
  6. I can see 7-8 wins as a reasonably good jump considering the youth and inexperience on D next year. Alarm Bell’s will sound if the aforementioned youth don’t improve as the season goes on. Is hard as this season was for all, it’s a safe bet any c$%kiness or overconfidence left over from UCF is likely gone. This is a smart group of coaches, but they may have needed to be humbled. I guarantee no one will be picking us to win the west next year.
  7. I don’t agree with everything the OP said, but to everyone’s surprise Martinez was not the answer this season. It was pretty obvious a couple games in. If you couldn’t see it, I’m guessing you don’t watch much football. First we tried to blame the OL, then the receivers..... I don’t know what transpired with him in the offseason, but the opposite needs to happen before next August. I’m guessing it’s mostly the bulking up, but who knows. Job 1: Cut some weight. 205 AM>> 225 AM. Your explosiveness in the run game was your best asset. It will open up the rest of the offense like nothing else.
  8. Maybe that scenario wasn’t on the 700 question offseason QB test.
  9. I agree with this. He didn’t lose it, but about 89,000 people could see that he wasn’t going to win it there at the end. Why Frost didn’t stick with Luke is inexplicable considering what he’s shown in his limited reps this season. Frost said post game that the thought of keeping McCaffrey in there instead never really crossed his mind. I about drove off the damn road.
  10. I wonder if Schiff is going to drag this out as long as he can. Possibly by calling more witnesses to testify. Or waiting for the Nunes thing to play out more. Bolton? The clear goal is to make sure Trump doesn’t get re-elected so maybe he realizes that up to this point, there is little likelihood the Senate would move to convict. This, plus the possibility of the Republicans dragging on a Senate trial to harm Warren, Sanders and Biden’s campaign opportunities. They probably view those three as Trumps biggest threat. If acquittal after a lengthy trial were to happen it would be a big victory for Trump. The republicans clearly now have a senate trial strategy in place that would benefit Trump the most. Schiff is too smart to not realize this. Maybe impeachment isn’t the best strategy at the moment. This all seems like a giant chess match going on. It’s not as much about holding the president accountable as it is winning in 2020. I am probably reaching on all this, but it sure will be interesting to see how this entire process plays out.
  11. Will come down to turnovers. Going -1 or worse doesn’t bode well for us. Iowa capitalizes on other team’s mistakes better than most.
  12. He played well. Most consistent ILB this season.
  13. Small sample size, but with the excellent tackling shown by the two freshmen ILB’s, there’s no way that group isn’t better next season.
  14. Where’s 28 and 53 been all season? Ruud, you got some ‘splainin to do.
  15. I heard Kirk being called “Field Goal “ Ferentz the other day.
  16. I know and am related to those people as well. I just go to lengths to avoid politics discussions with them. I value my relationships with them way more than what any of those a$$holes in Washington and on the networks spew out. I admit, though it is hard to not engage sometimes.
  17. Appreciate you giving your take on this. What do you think of the WH preventing Mulvaney, Pompeo, Bolton, etc. from testifying. I’m just curious to hear an unbiased opinion about that.
  18. Just another lame deflection tactic from the GOP. Just like obsessing about the Whistleblower’s identity. Fortunately those who aren’t glued to Fox News 24/7 can see right through this B.S.
  19. Yeah. Who knows? Just a hunch. Biden seems to be losing traction and Warren/Sanders may be tied up with Senate trials for a while. So I can see Buttigieg gaining some ground.
  20. Funny thing is. If we just were able to squeeze out the W at Colorado and AM played better against Purdue, we’d be sitting at 6-4 at this point. Which is right where many thought we would be at this point—on the way to 8-4. So we really aren’t too far off from 8-4, which sounds pretty darn good right now. We are, however, Quite a long ways from 10-2 or better. Hopefully we’ll be disappointed with an 8-4 record in a couple years.
  21. Adrian’s screen passes have left a lot to be desired this year. That needs to be a priority in the offseason.
  22. I agree, but I fear the worst is yet to come. Especially if Trump gets another 4.
  23. I wouldn't bet on it. It seems they the GOP has bet all their chips on Trump. Removing him would essentially concede the 2020 election to the Dems. Plus, doesn't it take like a 2/3 majority in the Senate to convict? Or maybe they can make their own rules on that. Anyhow, I just don't see this playing out any other way. More and more, to me, it looks like Trump vs. Buttigieg in 2020.
  24. Another day of hearings. Feels like Groundhog Day. Not much has changed. House will impeach, because, the Dems sort of have to at this point. Otherwise it's a HUGE win for Trump. Republican controlled Senate will hold their hearings and vote to NOT convict. In the mean time it's quite entertaining to watch. The real entertainment comes with the 2020 campaigning and debates. I just hope all this doesn't tear the country apart.
  25. They have to give Hannity and Carlson talking points somehow. Right?
