  1. I would imagine it had more to do with making money for schools, bowl committees, and host cities, giving student athletes good experiences with all the pre-game activities, etc. and allowing a team to finish the season with a win. I think the bowls are becoming more meaningless with the playoffs, bad attendance and athletes choosing to sit them out, etc. So maybe it's time to re-evaluate their value.
  2. If this is the case, then maybe the bowls need to go away.
  3. Agree 100%. I'm tired of this "root for your conference" crap. I want NU to be dominant. When we get there, maybe I'll root for the conference, but I doubt it.
  4. Sorry, I'm not going to pencil-in anyone as a "non-contributor" before they arrive on campus. That's just not right. What if the recruits read this stuff?
  5. This. Gotta love Mo's passion.
  6. Progress, but still a long way to go. Especially on defense. We feel good because Frost and his coaching staff gives us hope and we have a good young quarterback. Take away those two things and not much has changed.
  7. What did I assume? And how was that back tracking? Why are you so stuck on me owning some imaginary assumption that you dreamed up? I own what I said. Not what you think I mean in all your cynical glory. Seriously. What's your deal dude?
  8. So being excited to watch a highly touted recruit ,who happens to play a position of major need, and stating that" I wouldn't be surprised if he starts" is irrational over hyping? Look, our ILB play this past season left a lot to be desired. So yes, I happen think Nick can come in and contribute right away if he is healthy this spring. However, I would hardly consider any of this "over hyping".
  9. Where did anyone say a recruit will start from day 1?
  10. He doesn't now, but neither does Young. I'm basing my original prediction on Nick being able to play in the spring and Duval doing what he does best and add some good weight. 6'4" 215 (or whatever he is now) plus 15 lbs of good muscle will take care of that. I do agree that Hannah looks pretty darn good too. The future at linebacker is bright in Huskerland.
  11. Well the current roster couldn't pass #5 on the depth chart and to me that is concerning. I think we have some solid ILbs currently, but other than Mo Barry, they need to step up their game. No offense, but I'm pretty sure the fact that weight lifting and good nutrition are beneficial for athletes is pretty common knowledge around here. Congrats on the degree, though.
  12. If I would have seen better angles and tackling from Young, I would agree. We didn't see much of Honas unfortunately. I just feel that Henrich is going to excel at stopping the run. That is something that has been missing at ILB for a while. Mainly, I just wouldn't be too shocked if Henrich is at least in the two deep next year.
  13. I would't be surprised to see Nick starting next season. He would have started alongside Mo this season IMO. Super excited to see this kid play for the huskers!!
  14. Don’t think we’re getting this guy. Miami and Florida got pictures posted with the coaches. We got a thanks for stopping by from the high school.
  15. Awkward looking pic, but glad Darien is N! This guys got some talent.
  16. They need to just re-categorize it as the award for the best offensive skill position player. Because that’s what it essentially is. It would be extremely rare for a defender and near impossible for any lineman to win it. I’m sorry Heiman voters, but the “best “ college football players are not always QBs, RB,s and receivers. Nobody is buying that BS anymore.
  17. Just watched his Hudl highlights for the first time. Wow. His elusiveness is unreal. The sky's the limit for Wandale in Frost's offense.
  18. Good for him. They apparently recognized his talent. Looking forward to seeing what he can do next season!
