Honest question as I did not watch the entirety of the game, probably 65% without fast forwarding at points (I usually record games and start them an hour into it)...of that 65% the only call I saw as garbage was the pick/o interference on the 1st TD

That watching our running game makes me tired...it literally looks like our RB are trying to run into the defensive person...more an OL issue than RB issue though

Throwing this out there. Use Smothers on single back sets with fly motion...you can run fly sweeps, toss with Smothers (d has to plan for a pass)...run Smothers on a dive with the motion (similar to QB draw), etc etc. Offensively we need to have as many cerebral threats that we can due to our lack of established physical threats right now...obviously this formation/utilization has limitations (don't want Smothers to have to pick up a blitzing LB or DL left free that the Rb would usually pick up)

To me, right now, record is irrelevant, I want to look like we are growing in scheme, talent, etc...that means more to me...if that means we go 2-10 but we show growth as the season goes on and we have tangibly shown a solid foundation going into next year...i will take that over 5-7 with just humdrum s#!t that rinses and repeats next year

If I am Frost...my non conference is loaded with heavy hitters until we start turning that corner...once that happens you back off the non conf to normal and play for record/ranking...until then you play the best to become the best...we learn nothing but false hopes and mediocre skills by playing the Fordham and Buffalo of the world. Not intending to throw shade at them but they are not teams we as a program should be benchmarking success on I would take a non conf (repeated every year) of road games at Bama, OU (replace each year with other top tier teams) and a home and home vs a mid tier P5 than what we have now

Agree with this, I think 75% of Husker fans would take 5-7 or more so 6-6 this year if the product on the field showed tangible progression...that, to me, is the problem...no evidence of a corner coming up

Just throwing this out there and I obviously have a biased view. I played at Eastern Washington and played with Aaron Best (current HC )...from a player perspective dude was as OL molded (nasty, attitude, technique) as you would want and as he moved into coaching that style translated to players...he should be a guy NU should look at for OL and play caller
