  1. https://youtu.be/7MNy_4XOssk Sorry to those atheists, but i couldnt think of a better husker motivational, or a better tunnel walk for that matter.
  2. Im right there with you. The fact that this is Nebraska's best, last chance is the truth. We needed a hero, we got one, but he has been somewhat defeated. Our back is certainly against the wall, we cant deny that. Nebraska is in the brink of being a nobody for...possibly ever. At the same time this is what makes me love it. Who doesnt like a redemption story? You can react one of 2 ways: -Be nervous, rightly so cause its no joke we are on the brink. -Or be excited, feel that adrenaline in your veins, cause our backs against the wall Husker Nation, it truly is, so ENJOY the challenge. This is what sports are about. And i can imagine having the Future of Husker Football in Bill Callahans hands, or Mike Rikey's. There is noone i'd rather have with the future of our program at stake, then Scott. Kinda like Our State, Scott is flawed, he has shown his weakness. The wolves are at the door bretheren. (They really are , this isnt a joke). But if there is one thing Scott has its HEART. We were never the best state, we never will be. But if we have the heart of the Lion of Judah we can conquer. Fear not, for We are David, and the Lord be with us. I hope.
  3. I didn't read the entire thread but ill say this. Scott's team never quit. I gotta give Scott credit for getting his team to play hard despite the dissapointing season. Ive been as upset as anyone with the game management, choice of plays/who is behind center. I think Scott's best attributes have nothing to do with game management. He connects to players, he cares about this place and his players. I believe most guys love Frost, there will always be exceptions. He has struggled mightily with some of his decision making on the field, but from all accounts he has the attention of the players. After settling down from being pissed off at his Iowa game, i will admit there is a lot of good things about Frost, and im still very thankful he is our coach. He is not perfect, not as good on the game management as we hoped for, but the core of who he is, still remains. And thats a motivated, God-respecting man, who loves those around him and tries his best to do what he believes is right. He also happens to be a pretty good football coach and he loves this state as much as anyone. He coulda went to Florida and had instant success, but his heart is here in Nebraska of all places. This is a man that has lived in California, Florida, and Oregon. He knows full well what the country has to offer. And having lived all over this country, Nebraska isnt the most appealing place to live unless you have a love for the simplicity of it or just love the people here. Good people, but theres good people in Florida and Oregon too. And ill admit, the beauty of alot of places surpasses us. Oregon is a damn beautiful state. So is California. And florida has all the recruits he would need.
  4. I get it, but so are all of us. I was feeling the same way as Tommie after that game. Come to think of it im a piece of s#!t human too so i guess your point stands.
  5. Ill admit this is true. So this isnt against your post at all, but rather speaking to Nebraskans in general. I wish we would put our "greatest fans" to practice here. Tommie is a bit out of line, but we should respect him as a human, and stop taking cheap shots at the guy for his flaws (wether it be weight, alcohol?, personal shortcomings etc.) We all have ours wether we realize it or not, so lets stop bagging on the guy cause we dont like a comment he made. It is not the Nebraska way to use someone else's struggles against them when you dont like something he said. The people going to personal things about Tommie....well they just arent any better than him. And his twitter comments are said out of emotion. Maybe he lives off of his past cause deep down he is not happy with who he is today? Maybe he wishes he didnt have health problems so he could have continued his career into the pros? Most of us should be able to relate...i mean we as husker fans live in the past cause we dont like who we are today so why are we being hypocrites toward people like Tommie? Jesus says judge not, for you shall be judged in the same way you judge others..or something like that. You get the point.
  6. In the sense that our glory days are so far behind us that they dont matter anymore yes, Nebraska football would be dead. Was Minnesota football dead before Fleck? Thats where we will be. Nobody remembers, but Minnesota was a Juggernaut way back when, so was Yale. Its getting to the point where if Frost doesnt work out we are no longer a "blue blood". The majority of the younger generation already doesnt consider us a blueblood. Its even showing in state....lots of empty seats @Memorial, even against a rival, and even with quite a few Iowa fans filling up some of the seats
  7. Actually with his extension he is no closer to that point than the day he was hired. I'm a believer in Scott, but his salary demands nothing other then nomatter what hes going to be our coach for years. The buyout is way too high.
  8. It would be hard to be a worse passer than what we've had from our starter. Id put my money on the unknown in this bet.
  9. Was that "great talk" something like : JD: Coach u seriously gonna stick with Adrian? Frost: No JD, i think we will go with Luke next year JD: Ok i will stay. P.S. this conversation never happened. I room with the guy. Frost: You got it bud. ???
  10. What a comeback for the Vols. Thats a good season with the huge rebuild they had. I wouldnt consider them a sad team right now. We were excited when we finished 4-8 last year lol.
  11. Luke must be terrible in practice. Everything ive seen from him has been good, but we have seen so little of him. Regardless of how bad he apparently is at reading the D/Passing/etc, i just love that kids energy leading this team. I just have a really good feeling about him. But i guess we will never know unless he gets to play an entire game. What the hell do we have to lose at this point. I know what AM brings and i dont like it.
  12. Tommie is Tommie. Lets climb down from our high white horses, and admit that we all felt the same thing after the game. Was he wrong? Yes. Did he have a point though? Also yes. The Iowa loss was completely on Frost. Anyone who loves the Huskers was not happy with Frost after that game. The only reason i disagree with Tommie is because he said Its clear Frost cant get it done here. While i believe Frost can still get it done here, and has done some great things behind the scenes, from what we see on Saturdays Frost clearly hasnt got it done here. You gotta know the person making the statements and take them for what its worth. Tommie isnt a politician making sure he says the right words every moment. He said what most of us felt at the time and was blowing off some steam.
  13. That is a bright spot. Our OL really was solid the last half of the season. I will agree that the OL made Adrian worse the first half of the season, but i also believe AM made the OL look worse. It goes both ways. And in the second half of the season AM had plenty of time...i think he made the OL look worse. I love Frost, i am thankful that he is our coach. I think his greatest attributes are intangibles , like his ability to connect with people. He is the type of person that will eventually be good at whatever he puts his mind to. That being said im just very dissapointed in his performannce so far. Bad playcalling, his refusal to stick with Mills or the run schemes that work like what we ran against Wisconsin or OSU, i dont think he read defenses well at all..why throw so many screens against Iowa? Iowa is not the type of defense that screens work against. His refusal to play the best QB, (i can understand after 3 or 4 games), but by the last game of the year it was clear what we were gonna get from AM...it was also clear that Luke brought an energy to the team and their wasnt a more picture perfect time than when we had all the momentum in the world tied with Iowa in the second half, after Luke threw the best pass of the day on his only play at QB, and when our offense has never looked bad with Luke out there, he still stuck with Adrian. That was a back breaker. I would be willing to bet that Ferentz was very happy that AM came back in instead of Luke. We had Iowa on the ropes. It was so clear to see, i would bet my life savings (partly cause its not that big of a bet) on us winning if Luke played the rest of the game. Putting AM back their took the air right out of the building before he even played one down, and even more so after he went 3 and out time and time again for the rest of the game. Their are things that are understandable, this decision was not one of them. This is where, for the first time, i was pissed off at Frost. Ive been upset, and disagreed with him plenty...but ive never been to the point where i felt downright pissed off at him, until this moment. I would feel good if he played Luke, we beat Iowa, and can look forward to next year with a passionate baller like Luke leading our team, despite knowing he will make lots of mistakes.
  14. You have a point about Wandale, but Mills was better at the end of the season than he ever was. For some reason they didnt give him the ball enough. Mills is better than we give him credit for. And you lose players every year, if losing 2 decent OL, a really good WR, and a solid RB is an excuse to be worse the next year than your gonna have that excuse every single year. Teams frequently lose half of their starters, almost always lose 2 linemen, and dont regress.
  15. This is where im at. The D wasnt great, but they improved. Also they got put in tough spots by our offense more games than not. The stats are nice but they dont tell the whole story. With the way Frost teams play , they will make our offensive #s look better than reality, and our defensive #s look worse. Their is no reason our offense should have taken a step back in year 2 of a new system, with the same QB. We lost Zig and Stan but we gained Mills and Wandale. We lost Farmer and Foster, but the rest of our OL should have improved with 1 more year. I dont think this has anything to do with who we lost.... It has more to do with bad coaching and probably more than that, speaks to how much worse AM was. Its hard to win many games in our style of offense with a bad QB. With a Milton back their we win 8 games or so. Actually probably 9. We still lose to OSU, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. No way we lose the purdue, indiana, colorado, or Iowa games with a really good QB. Its even possible we beat Wisconsin and win 10. Their are people who will hate this post, but a good QB vs a bad QB makes all the difference in an offense like this. @ UCF, they go 7-5 or so with AM back there instead of Milton who went undefeated. Watch that season, how many game Milton won them, and how many AM would have lost them.
  16. Basically yea...isnt that what we all do? Btw i dont even think JD isn't bought in. I was responding to the poster that claims he has credible sources that JD isn't bought in. I always regret my decision after finishing my pizza from Lil Caesars...yea its only $5..but its s#!tty pizza and i always eat the whole thing.
  17. Thanks for reminding me. That makes my theory about JD not liking his QB improbable. It also makes the supposed rumor about JD being one of the guys not bought in even more interesting. The guy rooming with your starting QB, the one Frost sticks with no matter what, isnt bought in....(if thats even true that JD isnt bought in, is interesting)
  18. I'm assuming you have legitimate sources, and its not just something you heard from someone who heard from someone who said he heard it from Matt Davison or Scott Frost or someone like that. All i can say is he plays hard on Saturdays, and I would hate to lose him. This is me guessing cause i cant think of any other rational explanation, but the one time i really saw JD get upset was in the Illinois game when Martinez kept hanging him out to dry. Immediately after one of those times he was hammered , JD was shown on the sidelines talking to coaches about something and he was very upset. It was just one game, so maybe its not an issue anymore. I just wouldnt be surprised if he doesnt like playing for this QB, and it seems so many guys on the team love Luke. Again, i could be totally wrong. But your QB effects far more than just how he plays himself. He also effects the attitude of the entire offense, how much they love playing for their team, how confident they are in eachother, and the passion they play with. The team may love AM also for all i know, but it looks pretty clear that they love Luke.
  19. I cant blame them for trying. That would help them, and hurt one of their competitors. I know ive been beating this drum for the past month, but if i was a receiver i'd rather not play for AM. In JD's case, AM will see him atleast, considering thats the only guy he looks at on the whole field. But defenses know that and so JD isnt open hardly ever. By now defenses dont even cover our other receivers half the time, cause whats the point. Plus JD is gonna be hung out to dry at least a few times, possibly ending his career, and there is equal chance it hits a DBs hands first or his own. This should be done in house obviously, but i wish they would poll the offensive players and ask them who theyd rather have as their QB. It could be anonymous. Maybe they would rather play for Martinez..idk....but it is important that a offense likes their QB.
  20. We used to be so good that 9-3 was a fireable offense, and Iowa was a joke to us. Just 15 years later and 9-3 would get you a raise, and we are a joke to Iowa. Thats reality right there. For those of us over 30, hearing that shocks us so much that we dont even believe it.
  21. Tommie said what most of us were feeling during, and after that game. It was an emotional response based on truth. BASED on truth. I think Scott can get it done, but i was feeling the same exact way as Tommie after the Iowa game. He is right...our players played their asses off and Scott is the reason we lost the game. I cant fault him for saying what we all felt. Edit: He also said a few weeks ago that Scott needs to think about a QB change. I completely agree with him on that. Tommie is human like us, he says what he feels. Emotions can exaggerate our thoughts a bit but at the same time their is truth to it.
  22. Thats not taking into account how often the defense is on the field. We all know that Frost's style of play inflates offensive #s, and defensive #s. Thats why a top 50 statistical defense would be very good...because that would mean it is probably a top 25 defense in reality.
  23. Their is nothing more annoying than the ignorance of the "fire Chin" crowd. We all know you guys are deflecting blame that belongs to Frost and his offense (particularly play calling and his QB), because you dont have the balls to admit our hero from Wood River has made the mistakes. Our defense has been good enough this year. Our offense doesnt help our defense at all. The defense tried to save our offense many games this year, but you can only do so much.
