  1. Mostly agree with you, but some of those close losses requires some boneheaded 4th quarter decisions. If he figures out the game management piece piece along with better QB play, this team will turn it around
  2. Not sure who will be the starting QB come fall, but if Frost picks AM to be starter and AM has the same type of season 6 games in as last year, then someone else better be given a shot to start the final 6 or 7 games or his judgement will start to come into question. Neb can’t win this coming year without a big improvement in QB play.
  3. Actually your ability to hit fast balls could slightly depend on your teammates, because if those hitting around you stink, then you will not be getting fastballs to hit. Breaking balls and chasing fastballs and just pitch to the next guy. So how bout this. Tom Brady must be the luckiest guy in the world. Drew gets hurt for an extended period so Brady steps in. Gets to play for one of the best owners and coaches in the history of the game.
  4. I doubt it because he wouldn’t even see the field except for mop up duty. No way he’s beating out Justin Fields last year or this coming year. Nothing against AM on this, he’s just nowhere near as good as Fields.
  5. So I guess we can also say Lou Gehrig was good because he was lucky. Played because of an injury and had hall of famers all around him. A certain amount of luck encompasses anyones career, it’s what you do with that opportunity and how well prepared they are at the time. By your standards pretty much every successful player was lucky. Avoiding a wrong turn on their knee, getting seen by a certain coach at the right time, being born with god given talent, etc..Some bust their tails and take advantage of it and others coast through life and don’t live up to potential. Kurt Warner made the most of every opportunity.
  6. I get it that the online has not been up to par, but the discussion was on AM’s INT’s. I don’t really care how awful your line is or how much separation the receivers do not get. Don’t throw the ball into traffic. Aside from tipped passes, blind side hits, and miscommunication on routes, a QB’s turnovers are all his fault. No one else’s no matter how bad the rest of the team is. Full stop. He controls what he does with the ball. Having pressure certainly doesn’t help AM, but he also shouldn’t just chuck the ball cause someone is close to his feet. it would be like blaming a running backs fumbling problems on a bad o line.
  7. Kurt Warner took the Cardinals to the Super Bowl and darn near won it. That’s not luck
  8. Are you really trying to tell me that AMart’s turnovers are someone else’s fault?!? Seriously??? The kid has potential. If he took better care of the ball, and had a bit better decision making (which should come since he’s only a soon to be junior) he can a pretty good college QB. But currently he is not till he proves otherwise. Dirant matter how much you try and twist my words, when I never said it’s all on him. Of course tipped passes by the receiver that causes an INt are not his fault. But there are just as many if not more INt’s dropped by the defense so things basically even out. And yes, every single one of his many fumbles are his fault and his fault alone, except for any blindside strip sacks. Our other positions have some some definite issues, but stop being such an AMart homer that you blame them for his turnovers.
  9. Correct. Look at pretty much every other top QB in the country and his TD/INt ratio. That is what AMart needs to be at (or whoever the starter is). He is and has been turnover prone and many times at costly points in the game.
  10. If our QB plays at a top 20 level, then we will have a top 10 offense. If not then we won’t. Pretty simple. I believe the online will be much better and Mills can have a Ziggy type of year. Injuries and QB play are the wildcard
  11. He will end up a top 100 player by the end of the recruiting cycle.
  12. Just so everyone’s on the same page, a 1 to 1 TD to INT ratio for a QB in any offense is dreadful much less a ball control passing offense like NU’s. You can’t minimize how bad AMart was throwing the ball this year. And 59% won’t cut it either
  13. Same with Bob Stoops. After coaching under Snyder, he always talked about not putting that much pressure to work long hours on his assistants. Says it’s not worth it
  14. I believe he may be a high quality baseball player too. Pitcher if not mistaken.
  15. I agree with what are saying in general. Coach can say “ listen you won’t play so it may be best for you to move on”. But if the player committed to the school, as long as he/she is going to practices, participating in all workouts, keeping up grades and is a student in good standing, I don’t believe a coach should ever be able to say we are taking you off scholarship because we found someone better. If the player and coach MUTUALLY agree to part ways, then that’s fine by me. I also believe that if a player leaves a program, they should be immediately eligible at whatever school that player chooses to go. I will always believe this until they make coaches sit out a year like players when they leave a school for another school.
  16. http://www.ncaa.org/student-athletes/future/scholarships can be used or undergraduate or masters classes And yes you have to be taking 9 or 12 hrs I believe and 6 if it’s masters hours
  17. Well unless things changed since 1999 when I was in college, the scholarships do. Otherwise what would the kids who graduated in 3 yrs do? Or the kids who red shirted, but graduated in four years. The other option for a kid is to work towards another degree or a minor.
  18. Unless I’m mistaken It’s a 5yr to play 4 scholarship. So no, the school hasn’t held up their end of the deal until the athlete exhausts his eligibility.
  19. I saw Sam Pittman was named head coach but didn’t see Rion was coming as an assistant
  20. Thank you for looking that stuff up! I think given those stats, it’s more likely for TOSU and Bama to have freshmen on the two deep than a Nebraska. They have more 5 star talent coming in and more junior draftees leaving early than Nebraska.
  21. How many true freshman start for Ohio State or Alabama? Not sure where to look that up.
