Exactly, there is not point in it. We are not giving him the ball. How about a few motions with Wandale and actually give him the ball on a sweep. And Stop with stupid play action every single freakin pass play. 3rd and 15 doin play action does nothing but take the QB’s focus off of reading the defense.

Been talking about this same issue with folks I watch games with. At some point you have to stretch the field no matter the result. It’s amazing how much movement the players make just to throw a 3-5 yrd out. neb now has 2 6-4 receivers. Throw a few fade jump balls. Throw some deep posts. And how about a few trap running plays mixed in with the zone read. This offense will be trash until the QB’s do not lead the offense in running and out pass attempt per play adds 5 more yards minimum

I get that, but playing 12 yards off and immediately back peddling, at that point it’s just pitch and catch. Maybe worth trying for a half or so and see if Fields is on target or line is getting a rush. But when a QB is 14-15, strategy needs to be changed. Sell out more on Blitzes and make him throw over the top under pressure to score. The coverage Nebraska put out today was just basically saying “we know you are going to score, just do it a little slower”. That’s not good enough in my mind.

I would love to see a game against a Top 10 team where Nebraska does the following: 1) not turn the ball over 2) 5 or less penalties 3) Stop the opposing team 90% of the time when defending a 3rd and plus 10 yards. Nebraska does those three SIMPLE things and Nebraska will stop losing games by over 30 points every year. until then, well I think we all know what will continue to happen.

Refs suck, but at some point if we are gonna never force an incompletion playing 20 yards off the receiver, let’s try playing a little closer and forcing them to make plays instead of giving them free yards.

All of The QB’s should be watching film of Mahomes and analyze how he handles a broken pocket. He is a master at figuring out when it is appropriate to by time for a receiver to break open and when to take off for the positive yardage.
