  1. Late to the party. Watched this game with the Mrs. And when Mayan got fouled she asked me if I thought he would make them... I said he'd either miss one or both. I then told her that ohio state would go down and tie or take the lead. She asked why I was so certain. I said, because that's what winning teams do. She laughed. Then after Mayan missed both and liddell hit his first, she asked me what I thought was going to happen. I said, he's gonna make it and we're going to overtime. Wife says, that's not bad though. We can win in OT. I then said...no, we can't. We either have to win in regulation or we'll lose. She said, that's dumb. It's tied, both teams have the same chance to win in overtime. I responded with something to the effect of, a team like us has to win in regulation...we can't let it get to overtime, we don't know how to win. Some day they'll surprise me...some day...
  2. With portal qbs...either make sure he's a better option than what is currently on the roster, or let it be. Bazelak is not the answer.
  3. The academies. No way army should have beaten Missouri in their bowl game...other than scheme and "want to".
  4. Just like the NFL it's a quarterback driven league. National championship quarterbacks last 5 years 2016 DeShaun Watson 2017 Jalen hurts/Tua 2018 Trevor Lawrence 2019 Joe burrow 2020 Mac Jones
  5. Players were always getting paid, now its legal. Corruption can now be a little more evenly distributed. Some teams don't show up for bowl games, happens every year. This isn't new. Having players opt out is good for the on field product. Better product when players are fully invested, not protecting their draft stock. If you want to win in college football, you better have a super disruptive front 7 on defense (more specifically, DLine), and you better have an ace QB. And you better have the money to pay for them. That was always the case, it's just not cheating now...
  6. Of the 5 New Years Day bowl games, 4 were ultra competitive. 3 were decided by 3 points or less. Looks like the product on the field and competitiveness was fine. The playoff games were trash because the twobest teams are Alabama and Georgia...no one is close this year. No one. For a few years it was Alabama and Clemson, then everyone else. Now its Alabama and Georgia. Top to bottom the B1G is the best conference in the country, that's pretty evident, but if you think that Alabama and Georgia aren't head and shoulders better than everybody else this year, you are delusional. The rest of college football is competitive. It's the top few who separate each year...generally Alabama and 1 or 2 other teams.
  7. People have been having kittens for 2 years about all of our portal losses and I find it hilarious. We haven't really lost anyone worth losing sleep over other than Robinson and maybe Martinez. Maybe I'm wrong, I'll wear that hat if I am. But I just don't see it.
  8. A lot of guys having kittens about who we're losing to the portal...are we really losing a lot? Are we missing these guys after they're gone? Robinson was a blow, Martinez may be...but are we just losing crazy amounts of talent and not replacing it? I really just don't see it.
  9. Not gonna poo poo any win we can muster...we'll take it, it was better. Would like to see this translate in games with teams that play defense in the B1G. gbr
  10. That's good to hear. I'm not watching it yet. I watch them later, so I can fast forward commercials...hope it continues.
  11. We got 10-12 solid minutes of basketball against kstate...with our coachable players, we'll get that ramped up to 14-16 minutes tonight! I know I'm not alone saying that I'd love to see hoiberg have quick hooks for the guys that throw up garbage 3s tonight. If that happened we'll blow them out by 20+...alas, it wont happen. I fear it'll be a dog fight. I really like KT but he just shoots some absolute s#!t. I don't really care if he's the Japanese steph curry or the Japanese Jesus...a 30 foot fall-away, contested 3 is never the answer. Sorry, rant over...gbr
  12. Nothing is a gimme with this crew. I have a bad feeling in my stomach...maybe it's the suspect gas station seafood I ate...maybe it's how we play...time will tell.
  13. I missed the scripture stating we shouldn't hashtag a saying that was coined thousands of years after the Bible was written...but good on ya!
  14. It's cam ward, then everyone else. Back up the Brinks truck & make it happen.
  15. I like this dude. He's got the chops and resume to get me on the cool Whipple train. Our guys are going to love playing for him. The oline will get help schematically, the wrs will get the ball on time more...qbs won't be holding the damn ball too long anymore. We're all going to be stunned at how much our current players were held back because of stubborn play callers. #inwhipwetrust
  16. Personally, I don't care how we matriculate the ball down the field. All runs, all throws, any combination of the two...winning is what is most important. That is what gets lost in these trash takes. Everyone here wants to see us run. It's counter-productive to mash the ball up the guards backside for 1-2 yards 3 straight times. A good offensive coordinator runs plays that best suit his team. Not what best suits his ego. Frost hired a guy that does the former, not the latter. Frost was an ego playcaller, whip puts his players in position to be successful. We will run the damn ball, and be better at it than we were last year. We will also throw it...and probably be more efficient in that area as well. Nebraska55fan's brother is crazy.
  17. Mental health support has always been an issue. People are much more comfortable talking about it and seeking help. Good for this kid to have that kind of self-awareness.
  18. I'm officially off the brewer train. Cam ward will save us in 22' and beyond. Back up the money truck & make it happen.
  19. Punishment could be admission into ncaa tournament field as a #16 seed for the next 3-5 years. Regardless of record, so the whole world can see how bad we suck. Source close to the program says if that is the case, Hoiberg will resign to save personal embarrassment. In other news, the women's team is undefeated, fun to watch and are well coached. Just watch them...if they're ever on TV.
