  1. I agree with most of that. We slaughtered MSU in every important category, from yards to first downs. We beat the crap out of them. Our mistakes doomed us, though. Mistakes trickle down from coaches, either by lack of discipline or lack of supervision or lack of teaching or all three. With the Husker coaching staff it is all three on the Offensive and Special Teams sides of the coaching staff, in my opinion. This stuff would not fly in any conference, but it's the B1G, so it's fatal. Trev Alberts needs to lay it on the line for Scott Frost: Replace the ST and O coaching staff. D is fine.
  2. True. He can miss no matter the time left or time-out situation.
  3. I don't know who's going to win and by how much. Neither do you. Probabilities say we'll lose. By how much is up for grabs because we've had small point losses and we've been routed. If we win this game, after coming close to beating the #3 team in the country, heck yeah it'll make us all feel more positive about SF. "Take the heat off?" For now, yeah. But there are a lot more games to play and we're very used to seeing disappointment played out.
  4. Yeah, when we heard that the MSU head coach didn't want more than the allotted 2,500 Husker fans there we decided to cancel our plans and stay home to help honor his wishes instead of HUSKER POWER in the stands there. LMAO. No explanation needed on that guy saying that about us; he's just naive about Nebraska football fans. Plus wants to drive up the street ticket pricing. Perhaps he's got a fistful.
  5. Well I've always like the kind of coach who saw all 4 downs as play downs for the first, not just 3 then punt or FG attempt. Not always practical of course.. lol.. but, as you say once in the opponent's territory hell yeah, especially knowing the unstable nature of our kicking game.
  6. It is not snarky to wonder how our kicking game will affect the final score. We have not been able to rely on extra points or field goals as the kind of "near sure thing" they should be (especially the PATs). Will this cause Frost to take more chances on 4th down? Etc?
  7. We were "prepared" enough if our kicker didn't miss the 18 1/2 foot space between the uprights.
  8. We knocked them down one notch in the AP poll.
  9. That can be chancy.. complicated. It would be interesting to know if the Husker team captains are taking care of that end of it. It was the source of anxiety when Real Nice Guy Mike Riley left and things seemed to dwindled as to accountability on the practice fields and even in the gym. That was a little while back, or course. But.. just wondering.
  10. Notable mistakes: Both teams with 70 yards in penalties, but Oklahoma can garner all the penalties they want I guess.. but ours lose us games. And our our kicker, my gawd.. what? Two of those kickers... we lost points that would have taken us in a whole different direction in that game. Our D did amazing for what they were up against.
  11. I just think we saw the limitations of the team and coaches as they come into a game as fired up and confident as they could ever be. It might as well have been a bowl game they were prepared and ready for. And they lost a game full of their mistakes that they well could have won with fewer of those mistakes.
  12. We could have had this. It's still coaching issues: Discipline (lack thereof) wrt penalties. Steadiness on Special Teams (a kicker, please?). Clock management. But, yes, mixed feelings because the positive is obvious improvement.
  13. All that great work to get down there and our kicker can't deliver.
  14. I"m proud of our D. Not perfect. but, hey, this is THE NUMBER THREE TEAM IN THE COUNTRY.
  15. Just kidding... but we got pushed back several times after we made contact. That's nasty stuff. They have the horses.
  16. I respectfully request this thread by locked.
  17. I've had similar thoughts (and prayers). What the hell has happened to our Huskers that that's where our sensibilities are now.
  18. Yes, expectations and it’s handmaiden grief on Sunday following a loss have dwindled over the years. Now it’s about some sort of imagined beginning point of a turnaround for the program.
