I guess one thing I haven't considered is Matt Rhule is apparently the dumpster fire whisperer. How do posters feel about him at this point?

It wouldn't be a home run, but it could be worse. If this happens, expect 5-8 wins per season before he bails in 2-3 years. Dude just hops around...can't ignore that elephant on his resume. Some people just can't settle and he gives off that vibe strongly. Would be an anti-climactic hire and expect average results.

I personally think there is a risk Trev makes a hip hip hooray type hire and gets a Mr. Rogers type coach in here because of all the crap that went on during Frost's tenure. After all, Trev's the one who originally said this goes beyond 16-31. Pretty much confirms to me he wants a good-guy hire and not a winning hire.

Tempted to say zero, but I think we win one more game max. I voted 2 wins this season. it is a group of very, very bad football players. I'm beyond the rally cry of support the players. If they are being paid, they can handle some heat. As a group, they are horrendous.

I'm not saying we should have won the game. I'm saying in the most favorable position possible, individual players on defense collectively said "yeah we're done here"

Another poster pointed out context is key. And I agree with that...as you point it out. But the 61 yard TD run...you're up 7-0 at home. It's 3rd and 7. You already had one good defensive outing. How in the world does that scenario turn out the effort on that play. It made me sick to my stomach. It was a TD we chose to give up instead if fighting to prevent. Topped off by Tommi Hill's sickening "nah I'm good even though I play defense." At least 7 guys should never see the light of day in this program after that.

I can't understand the defensive effort on the Gabriel run while leading 7-0. I mean....it was rather pathetic. Very telling that is the effort while winning a football game. There's got to be some bad influences on this roster for that type of effort on 3rd down up 7 points. Bunch of losers.

Here's a quick exercise that i found fun: close your eyes and give an honest ranking to our current suck level. Now go check the Northwestern and Indiana scores. Way off, right? We suck worse than we could ever imagine.

I agree. I originally thought "oh big deal that Urban is here for gameday. means nothing." I feel like it's turned into "we are a really stupid program if we don't throw all our money at him." His lone cameo during the game has far outshined anything on display today.
