  1. The Big 10 Network announced their baseball broadcast schedule on Feb. 11th last season, so expect a blurb any day now
  2. Nebraska doesn't play Michigan State in the regular season, so that'll help. . .
  3. General admission tickets for adults are $7, $5 for youth/seniors. Additional ticket info here
  4. No doubt, it probably won't be this nice for the home opener in March.
  5. If I weren't so damned lazy, I'd post the screencaps of the two UW lineman downfield on one of the puppies' TDs. Should have been a penalty and a TD off the board. I hope Wazzu beats you this year.
  6. I don't doubt the effort, but I thought the song fizzled out at the end a little bit. I don't know when they shot this, but I agree that the crowds look small. Using some footage from the lines outside the stadium at fan day might have helped.
  7. An Applebee's or Chili's (TGI Friday's? I don't know, they're all the same) across from our hotel in St. Louis, watching the La Tech game of 1998. My cousin, not being a fan of any team, got married that day A couple anti-NU fans were there muttering a lot when NU withstood the Rattay-Edwards barrage of the 3rd quarter, but overall, not that unusual.
  8. http://my.journalstar.com/post/Husker_Extra_Group/Husker_Extra/blog/the_crowds_.html Here's the averages if anyone's interested. EDIT: wrong link, now fixed.
  9. I hope you're right. Baseball games are too fun of an event to be wasted with having a crappy team. I'm not going to demand CWS appearances every other year like some people on this board probably do, but I feel like with the facilities and talent we can pull in, we should at least be qualifying for the NCAA tournament nearly every year. Here's to hoping your friend is right. Any input on possible replacements? I think we'd all love Erstad, especially since a few players I know say they love the guy, but apparently he doesn't really want the position. Will Bolt was the only candidate mentioned. If it had been anybody other than who told me, I would be skeptical, but this guy is always right. Even so, I will be nervous until Osborne himself says something.
  10. I don't believe Osborne would say anything to the press that he feels would put added pressure on the team. He has also not shied away from explicitly stating when a coach will be back the next season. That hasn't happened, because the last time I heard him say anything, Nebraska still had a shot to qualify for the Big 12 Tournament. A friend of mine who is pretty close to the athletic dept. tells me there were benchmarks, and none of them have been met, and Osborne will make a move. I don't have any reason to doubt him.
  11. Ha! Yeah right. Nope, sounds like the decision has been made for change. The Hawks family did not pony up for the stadium to sit empty.
  12. No postseason for the 3rd straight year. Anderson's done.
  13. Props to Creighton for leaving that pitcher in way too long, otherwise it's not much of a game.
  14. 16-5 Texas. Anderson's a great coach
  15. You can blame the umpire all you want for that bad call, but all this game is showing is that NU is mentally weak. Game 2 is over before it even began.
  16. Creighton's strength of schedule coming in to last night was 133. They're a good team, and not a bad win by any stretch, but I don't think a top 30 ranking is warranted.
  17. This game is super-important, it could be the difference between not making a regional and really not making a regional.
  18. Nebraska also had 2 extra games apiece against Northern Colorado and North Dakota, plus Doane, to pad their stats this year.
  19. Pretty sure Anderson himself said after the game that Ehlers was starting.
  20. Oh, and 4 errors yesterday. Yeah, stalwart team here. Anderson teams find ways to lose ballgames that matter, that's why they're 3 for their last 21 in Big 12 series, with those 3 series wins coming against the 9th place team in 2009, and the other 2 at the end of the year in '09 and '10 when NU was mathematically eliminated from the Big 12 tournament. So when IS it Anderson's fault, prithee praytell?
  21. Pretty obvious OSU's pitcher relaxed with the big lead, it happens
  22. It's Anderson's fault because the talent is not there. How can you not like Doc but like Anderson???????? You're probably one of those who wanted Callahan fired. Well, Callahan and Cosgrove couldn't go out there and make the tackles for their players, it's not their fault!
  23. 1. Newman being to predictable because he is calling nothing but first pitch fastballs- first of all the kid has a 92-94 MPH fastball and Tech only had four hits in 8 innings. I will take that any day of the week. Second of all Keller was struggling with command of his slider. Two of Tech's 3 runs were lead-off walks...very important with these new bats to not walk batters, especially lead-off batters. Start off with strikes and this will open up the pitch selection, even though he was struggling with command of slider. Series loss. Not just game 3 loss.
