  1. and your point is? I think his point is that between years 3 and 6 he lost 25 games in a 4 year period. Without looking at how they were lost, that alone is 9 more than Pelini levels. It's a lot. The option style and head coach remained in tact during that time and no one was firing shots at how great it was. They bounced back this past season and took it to an SEC team that wasn't your typical Alabama/LSU yearly powerhouse. It was an option team that came out of a long funk and beat an SEC representative on a night that was on TV. Most games GT plays, no one is really watching or paying attention. Just my interpretation
  2. Wait, I thought MSU's Mullen was a spash hire kinda guy?

      Go up one...its Johnson now.

  3. Six former Big Eight members would not share the same sentiments. Nor the fond Saturday afternoon memories. But for us Huskers, it was pretty special while it lasted
  4. Tech is a QB school and it is depleted. Completely empty cupboards. Maryland & UCF would give him the keys immediately. Not sure about Tennessee depth. And The U is just name dropping. Kaaya has that locked up for the next 3 years.
  5. Very odd list for a West Coast kid. Tennessee already has 2 QB commits. Looking for quickest playing time path. Battling against 2 incoming commits is waay diff than going up against a JR starter with solid SO and RFR already in the backup mix. Just a guess here.
  6. He's thrilled that lincoln has an Amigos?Amigos makes no one happy. Agree probably the worst place a person can go to get terrible food. They have a salsa bar tho Each time I read it, this still makes me laugh to myself
  7. Hey HFO, my best friend texted me that pic on thanksgiving. Cyrus is actually my middle name, which I go by sometimes. So I've gotten good/bad/ all in fun/ ribbing over the years. The main focus is Riley
  8. Yeah! Now make like Bo Pellini, Frank Solitch, Tom Osbourne and Bill Calhoun and get outta here! +1

  10. Be on the lookout for the Wambulance driver and dispatcher. Those two guys will lead the way and pack 'em in.
  11. lol yeah NUance mentioned that too
  12. lol BB69 was my previous girlfriend's nickname
  13. It's not like a GA has to be involved with quarterbacks & wear funky plaid pants on occasional game days. This guy was a lineman and is a GA on offense/TE assignment. He's done it a few years. If it improves our TE play, what's the big up roar?
  14. To show support for our new HC, I request to change my name to RileyCyrus. admo Been a few years since I worked & lived in Addison, Tx. New season, New Coach, New Hope. Thank you.
  15. Urban Meyer grew up in Ohio, Harbaugh went to UM, Chryst went to WI, James Franklin of PSU is from PA born and raised, and Fitzgerald had no HC experience but played at Northwestern. I mentioned Dantonio having little HC experience with barely a winning record before going to MSU. This is our conference and what matters. Other than Dantonio, those other guys had previous affiliation with sentimental reasons to go coach at those schools. The school doesn't necessarily deserve to be credited for making splash hires. And the reason for me looking strictly at our league? You win it, you have a strong chance to make the playoff. Plus a conference championship Trophy. UM & OSU & PSU can battle it out on their side for one spot in the B1G CG. While our Huskers have to battle UW & NW & Minny for the other spot. We've been close before with some talented teams. It is apparent that you can get 9-10 wins with a dysfunctional coaching staff running the show. You don't need a big name splash hire coach to get the unfinished job done. /rant
  16. They both were good in their own right. IIRC Zac checked down a lot, even if it was just a two yard gain on 3rd and 6. But he was accurate down field for the most part when he had time to throw. I liked how Ganz could move around the pocket and scramble for some yards. He was accurate too, but had some Favre in his veins. Sometimes Joe reminded me of a bobble head when he ran because his helmet looked two big for his neck & shoulders. And Zac had heavy bricks or cement in his shoes. Ahh, the good times...
  17. I understand it, but I don't agree with it as the source of all reasoning either. We can look at Mike Dantonio for example. He had one HC job before MSU. He was 18-17 at Cincinnati. But he is the right fit at MSU and has done a really good job there. All it takes is one guy to be the right fit. And I think Riley is the right man and the right fit for Nebraska.
  18. What True To The Red said. Great highlights man
  19. I agree Minnesota. I-form sets... QB under center... Some play action... Some shotgun formation with single back or empty backfield..... There is no reason a pro-style offense can't have a few different formations. I don't know if the system QB needed is on the current returning roster. If not I think Riley said he would adjust the offense.
