  1. 2 game winning streak against Colorado? It's something. Although any coach could have come in and ditched the run in favor of a passing attack (short, very short passing attack), he did bring recievers to the program, and passing QBs that have done well or sitting in the wing. Toss out the big playbook, and the next coach will hopefully spread these guys out from sideline to sideline, and throw downfield while keeping an importance on the running game. So talent wise, they are here and ready. Just need a new direction, motiviation, confidence, and battle tested during practice before game day.
  2. Texas hasnt been a power house team this year. They can have turnovers, penalties, mistakes like everyone else. They are good, just not great. Maybe the Huskers will put distractions aside and play a good game on the road. Havent seen that in a long time, but maybe it's what the doctor ordered.
  3. I have to say CU because it will be on national TV, following turkey day.

    Poll: Pelini

Relax newb... It was all in fun. You took it to heart just a little too much.
  6. This is as valid as any other poll in the football section. Your pick really does matter. Husker Nation needs the truth.
  7. I dont have a problem with Lucky. He should get 20 touches a game. Need a power back in there as well to mix it up. As for his records - congrats. This offense (WCO) is designed for a short control passing game, so all the catches he gets isnt surprising at all. To actually throw downfield, he would need to stay in the backfield and pick up a block, help protect Keller to give him more time to find a reciever.
  8. UT 40 NU 20 RUSH: 207 PASS: 139 "Pound the rock.. and run out the clock".
  9. Cool. Glad it's on TV. Glad it's early. Might even have an early beer. Go Huskers!
  10. I read the whole thing from the link. Personally speaking, I just hope the Huserks play better this week... in that regard.
  11. We had a lengthy thread about this, maybe a few weeks before season started. I saw the Huskers losing 6 games. Took some ribbing from some good people, no biggie. It was clear to me this was a crucial, sink or swim year for Cally & Co. I thought the D-line would be better than what we see each week. I thought the LBs were not quick but experienced. They've been dissappointing big time. I thought the secondary was soft spot, but they've been good on coverage suprisingly. I didnt like the fact that we didnt have depth at RB, b/c of injuries and freshman rarely play here. I was hopeful about Keller, but never saw him play before so it was a question mark. The O-line seemed fine, nothing great but nothing terrible. I liked the WRs, and they've been alright. I looked around at the conference and teams looked like they were improving, didnt see that with confidence on the NU side. I didnt see this staff polished as most did. And that bothered me. I am very dissappointed in this year. I didnt want to go through this. Just b/c I saw a bad year happening, doesnt mean I dont pick us to win or root to win every week. I dislike the "I told you so" types and I dont start websites to slam the coaches. I'm not abandoning this team one bit. Edit: I also want to point out, that I do not get the coverage like most good people on this board do. So I do not get to see the players interviewed on sports night, or get to know them, or hear non-stop Husker talk on the radio. I only see what's on the field each saturday from my QB chair. And that's what I go by.
  12. Why do these threads get so critical? Same arguments each week. If Watson called some plays, so what? To me that's effort for trying something different whether it worked or not. "Keep Watson, Fire Cally, Hire Bo, Get rid of Coz, the coaches dont care, they dont try anything...." on and on and on. Damn.
  13. Amazing... these past three weeks with the same knee-jerk reactions. So much anger and hate.
  14. Strong statement there. Is that a fact or a personal guess? Just wondering... By the way, despite the constant rumors on this board, Dr. Tom will evaluate the coaching at the end of the season. He will decide their fate. Then he and/or the new perm AD will interview a ton of candidates & make the best choice. Why is that not clear?
  15. No Culbert - First thing I thought too. And what about Mendoza? He was mentioned this week about getting some PT at RB..
  16. Count me in. Time for some football! GBR!!!
  17. I think the recruits hold the right to be cautious. The "in case of coaching change" is recruit-speak to cover their behinds. Meaning, new coach & they dont like the direction, they opt out. New coach & they do like the guy & direction, then they remain N. That's how I take it.
  18. Man, South Florida is out. There goes the cindarella story, and the BCS is back to breathing normal again. Still some good games this weekend.
  19. I see no problem at all by running Mendoza out onto the field and getting some plays. Sounds to me like a good idea. I behind it. And Blue will be out there too and that's cool too.
  20. Welcome and thanks for the support!
  21. Dude has no respect. I have no respect for him. I didnt lose Callahan. Callahan lost me. Se be easy as well. Opinions very. MY EDIT: Maybe I'm just frustrated and having a bad day, or even a bad week. It doesnt happen often so, I apologize if I'm offending anyone.
