  1. That's really cool of you to say Jayhawk. You guys have definately arrived. A lot of credit to Manginoman. Good luck to KU as well!
  2. He's not the scrambling, throw on the run type. He's a pocket passer. When the line gives him time, he's pretty efficient. With pressure, it gets challenging. It wasnt his best night, & all good QB's have mediocre games too. The fumbling thing can worry me, but overall, no INT on paper and it was a decent effort. I wasnt too worried.
  3. Yeah, but when two of those lineman are supposed to be high draft picks, they need to beat olineman one on one.... That's what I was thinking too. And that's why Carriker deserves some tough love (open to criticism) as well. He still has a ton of potential. He needs to kick it up another notch is all.
  4. Regarding " WTF was that all about?? " ... About 4 hours and one mealion, I mean a thousand yards... And a victory
  5. This one and the "Jabba the Mangino" quote..... H i l a r i o u s!!! But yah, they did shut down the run completely.
  6. I like the thread! Um, the positives I liked: A win is definately first thing that comes to mind. Andre Jones & Shanle did make some plays that were huge (batted tip & the INTs), MoPo's 4 catches and getting involved in the offesne, seeing Cody Glenn out there getting some touches, Swift's AMAZING two point conversion catch and the big catch down the sideline, no INT's from Zach throughout an inconsistent night, McKeon played well, and hearing KU's Washington regaining his feeling back in his body. It wasnt a great game, but there are positives.
  7. MoPo looked real good tonight, didint he?!!!! That was great to see!!!
  8. Washusker, I want you to know that your opinions do not bother me, even if they ruffle some other feathers on here. Say what you want man, it's cool. I dont doubt your loyalty, you have right to speak out. It's a message board. With that said, I never had doubt. I wasnt happy with the o-line, or the d-fense, or the way Taylor looked and threw to Hardy or Nunn most of the game when Swift, Purify, Herian, Peterson are all out there as well, wanting to make a play. On a postivie note - we did win which is a GREAT feeling! And good to see Glenn back out there and get a few touches! GBR!!!
  9. I agree. It's 5 games into the season. The "D" is not living up to the hype. I am so glad we won and didnt have any doubts. As for the D-fense, the linebackers (especially) have not impressed me much. They look a lot faster and more athletic on paper. Bradley & Ruud look slow. Carriker is not getting penetration. Grixby gets burned down field every game & is good for one pass interference call as well. I am not saying the D-fense is terrible (although Grixby should not start Div I football). I am saying they are good, they are not great.
  10. Hilarious!!! (And then Baylor will beat them!)
  11. I see no reason why they shouldnt. If another coach called Husker fans "f/ing hicks" for example along with the throat gesture thing, I wouldnt be too supportive. He put himself into that mess. I dont check out other boards. I can see how it would be fun & interesting. I have just enough time for this one. And of course, it rocks!!!!
  12. Going to the local watch site in Dallas/Ft.Worth area. They do a good job too b/c when the Huskers score, they play the fight song on the speakers, people shout "Go Huskers!", everyone's wearing red, they clap, they cheer, and we all high five and have some beers!!! Be safe bro!!! Will have a toast for ya!!! GBR!!!
  13. Amen brotha!!! And I want to hear the crowd all the way down here in Texas!!! Globally LOUD!!! GBR!!!
  14. I'm going with Swift. He seems to make plays when we go to him. Hopefully we will get more looks his way.
  15. Happy B-day!!! Hope it's a good one!!!
  16. I dont see them winning any of the games on the road. Baylor will give them plenty of chances to self destruct, again. But "if" CU does win a game at home, are they going to tear down the goal post? Sad, really...
  17. Agreed. Good call Kid. GBR!!!
  18. <shivers>... Darn those road games!
  19. I dont see a problem at the RB spot as the title says. There's one ball and four good RBs. These guys are sophs & juniors. There are plenty of games in front of them. I have not heard any of the backs say anything degrading with a microphone on. They are all likeable guys, and no doubt they all have potential. It's all debatable, but not exactly anything to lose sleep over. Huskerguy's opinion is just that, and it's okay.
  20. 1. O-line 2. Secondary/D-backs Man, that hit by Andre Jones at midfield, & Shanle making a play (INT), etc. Good to see that.
  21. My notable comparisons: Osborne - tall - 6'4"? Callahan - short - 5'6"? Osborne ran, ran, ran the ball. Callahan introduced the foward pass. Osborne wore a headset on the sideline and pretty much called the plays. Callahan holds his playbook tightly like Fonzie did as the coach in Waterboy. Osborne politely praised opponents after a game they loss. Callahan made throat gestures at officials and called fans F'n hillbillies. Osborne spoke briefly and to the point during conferences. Callahan speaks in paragraphs, and over uses the word "physical" and "physicality". Osborne won a few championships but is not on the sideline anymore. Callahan is the coach last I checked and is doing the best he can do to win the Big 12 North. Alright that's all. Just having some fun and adding some humor to the board. I hope no one takes me literally.
  22. I'm sure Glenn looked forward to this game for the past several months (at least), was pumped up to play, it's on national TV, in California, against USC, and all his friends and family were probably watching. So I can understand his disappointment of not getting in the game. He is a great person from reading his interviews so I am positive he has already put it behind him and is ready for Troy.
