  1. Great article! Proud to be from Nebraska!!!
  2. I guess I'm the only guy who voted on this year, because I couldnt vote for "back-to-back"! Next year is just to far to anticipate, too many things happen along the way. We all know that by now. And this year? Man just bring on La.Tech and I'm gonna go enjoy one game at a time. Regardless, GBR!!!
  3. I'm about 30-40 minutes from Wylie, but that first game is in Waco (half way to Austin, hour and a half drive so for get that). If I do catch a game this season from the stands I'll let y'all know what is up. It will be tough to do, being that they games are on Friday nights.
  4. Unfortunately, Pastuer has transfered (on to Stephen F. Austin) Click here However, cucumbers do taste better pickled.
  5. You know guys, there is one thing about the article that I did agree about. The quote about Callahan, "Most Nebraska fans still weren't sold late last season after the Cornhuskers opened 5-4." The truth is, I didnt think he was going to be here after the season. We were 10-10 after 20 games in the Callahan era, terrible on the road, and saw Kansas drop 40 on us. Congdon kicked a game winning FG, we beat CU pretty good, and then came from behind in the fourth to beat Michigan. And thank goodness because that was awesome. I am hopeful and anxious for this season, and although I am not entirely sold on Callahan yet (dont hate) I think we have the opportunity to have a great season. No matter what, my heart lives and dies with the Huskers. GBR!!!
  6. TO! TO! TO! TO! TO! TO! TO! TO! Sorry, I just couldnt help it I did feel the same way as you did, until he signed with Dallas. That's my team and on Sunday's he'll be there. Trying his best to win for the Cowboys. I'm sure that he will - wait a second - NEWSFLASH!: TO! TO! TO! TO! TO! TO! TO! Sorry... as I was saying he'll have his words with Parcells and ... Uh OH.. another NEWSFLASH!: TO! TO! TO! TO! TO! TO! TO! TO! TO! TO! TO! TO! TO! GO COWBOYS! (Just having some fun is all)
  7. In Arlington, it's too damn hot to win or lose. I liked A-rod when he was here, the situation was sour when he left. I'm actually glad he's in NY and might be one of a few that actually pull for him to play great. I wish we (Rangers) kept Soriano - he was great in Arlington. I like the Twins, but the Yankees have always been my second favorite team (Rangers - we dont do playoffs).
  8. Everything and anything is speculation. But what we do know is that he has talent, has been a starter, and has good stats. We also know that by transfering he wants a second chance. Come hear and compete, that's all we can ask. Nothing is a given.
  9. Well said... As soon as this program returns to the status of an annual top ten team, then we'll see less activity/aggressiveness to go after experienced JUCO players. K-State has a rep for bringing aboard tons of JUCO's each year, and they can keep that rep for all I care. I can see a recruit double thinking when he hears "They will bring JUCO's in and you wont see the promised early playing time as you've been told". Yeah, that's kind of dark, but a reality.
  10. That's hilarious! Now if they could just do something about that ridiculous track around the field.
  11. Bucky Richardson.... damn. He was all everything at ATM, that dude was tough. I wonder how he's doing these days? Maybe I'll go to Home Depot and ask him. (J/K) McGee is similiar to Taylor with his presence & leadership. He just needs more playing experience. Those three pre-season games before the Tech game (Louisiana Cajin City College, Rice Reform and Secondary School of Art, and Southwestern Bell Texas) should help. Gig ' em brotha! GBR!!
  12. Plus, if we do have a good game, and the WCO does a great job, it should help with recruiting down in the Cali talent pool. "Hmmm, maybe I should take a visit out to Lincoln??" And I hope Lucky gets his opportunity - and he takes advantage of it too!! Of course it's all wishfull thinking, but hey, GBR!!
  13. Husker fan AND a Cowboys fan on the same board??? Man-OH-Man! There are some special people in the house!! Go Cowboys!!!
  14. That's unfortunate. I was playing water volleyball over the weekend - 4 girls, 4 guys - and each time someone ran in to get some beers for the cooler someone would catch the score on the tele. But hey, I guess a weekend of paint is good for some people too. And their friend who gets excited about having such a weekend with paint (or at least it's his sentiments) DOH!
  15. Usually it's a copout when you hear the Yankees win because of their payroll or spend the most. Steinbrenner is the best. He's even hilarious on Seinfield too! I get tired of hearing that Oakland is a small market. Do you know how many Championships they could have won, or, could have played in had they spent the money and kept - Giambi, Tejada, Mulder, Hudson, etc.? Like I said "copout!" And I will repeat what I also said earlier: Need the Yankees there. You gotta beat the best to be the best, and over the past 10 years, the Yankees have been pretty darn good. smile.gif Yankees crushed the Red Sox and that's that. They are on their way. Would love to see a Yankee / Dodger series.
  16. I saw the highlight on ESPN. The pitcher was definately getting rocked, 7 runs in 2 plus innings and was visibly P.O.'d to be pulled from the mound, trailing 8-7. They both had words, and the pitcher refused to give the ball to the manager initially. Yeah, he did show him up. But it was the MGR who chased after him from the dugout. The pitcher dude was apologetic when answering to reporters saying it was embarassing in a low tone and he was mad at himself. Meanwhile the MGR was still hot, didnt want to talk about it... saying it was overwith... you could just here the "ticking" in the background. Man, that's strike two. Even a MGR should know what's coming next.
  17. I was anticipating a joke. That's incredible! And the link takes you right there too. You can even read his bio En Espanol if you prefer.
  18. You guys are the luckiest guys in the world!!! I wish I could, but I'm some 600 miles away. Hopefully you will hear us cheering all the way on from the bar!! "HUSKER!" "POWER!"
  19. The Constitution of the United States is the answer to your question. Remember, until 1954, the phrase "under God" never appeared in the Pledge of Alligence. Congress, after a campaign by the Knights of Columbus, added the words, 'under God,' to the Pledge. The Pledge became both a patriotic oath and a public prayer. And therein lies the problem. Remember, the federal government cannot enact any laws that abridge your right to worship as you wish. By placing that phrase in the Pledge, Congress did just the opposite - it promoted one religion over all others, thereby forcing non-Christians to worship in a manner not of their choosing. Thanks AR HF! I didnt know the answer and that's why I asked a question. Different "views" can certainly cause problems of disagreement. Tough to be on the same page. And people are different.
  20. That is debatable. Click here to See what I mean You got me! That is HILARIOUS!!!!!
  21. Those games (Tech vs A&M) usually come down to a FG or OT, and are always great games. How come? (Except for the occassional blow out.) It's tough to win at Kyle Stadium, but it's not impossible. Even though your last QB (McNeil) has gone on to bigger and better things (Europe? Canada? Arena?), I think this year's QB (McGee) is tough as nails and should do well this year. You have every reason to be excited about this season. I like the Ags. But I dont like the Huskers road record under Callahan so far (horrendous 3-6) , cant dodge that, but these guys have a few years now in the system, they have confidence, unity, high expectations and well, how do I say it... we're gonna beat your @ss! It's tooooo early to predict my friend. Let's see how the season starts out first.
  22. Actually, no disrespect to Jordan Adams or Sam Keller. I was only trying to add some humor. But in all due respect, I think a loud message was made clear at NU: To be the QB, you have to prove it in practice, never take a day off, make all the team meetings, prove it to your coaches and teammates, have patience, a good attitude, dont complain, know the playbook, and then, if you get the chance to play, prove it on the field in a Husker uniform. It looks like Zach has set the bar. Right now, the talk of coming to NU and being a starter is miles away. But if he does committ, that's great b/c I wish him the best. GBR!!
  23. Absolutely! Because if it doesnt work out, we could always put him at safety like Jordan Adams
  24. Nothing wrong with that Or sounding like a Husker fan after a last second field goal giving us a victory!
  25. What if it was changed to "One Nation, under bubble gum and pixie sticks"... I'm just kidding with you. I know it's not the case. And you make sense. I just couldnt resist. Come to think of it, you're right. When I went to private schools, we did say it, and then in public schools we didnt. I just always liked it. As for the girl, yeah rules are rules and she needs to follow them. If I was in her shoes, I would carry the cross/crucifix in my pocket and move along.
