  1. Maybe not a speed demon, but was fairly quick and elusive. POB, or even Gebbia may be able to to pull off just enough mobility to be effective in Frost's offense, but I don't think Lee has a chance. However, IMO the ideal QB is still yet to be seen.
  2. I think its fun to dream of the day we get to the big game, but right now I would just be happy with an OFFICIAL announcement that he is our head coach.
  3. He or she is a Huskerboard member that is stating their opinion. You don't don't have to agree with it, but perhaps you having something better to add? Attack the post, not poster.
  4. i am most likely in the minority here, but I have appreciated the time spent looking at tweets, other boards, sources etc.and posting them here. I can decide what I want to believe or not to believe and in no way interpreted what your were doing as being a troll.
  5. Of course we don't know....but when you look at the O line, it certainly does not pass the eye test.
  6. Even though we all know the post is suspect and give it zero credence......we still all really want to believe it to be true.
  7. Before the season started he was a first round pick...read between the line here. At the end of the season....a late round pick. Even when considering our poor O Line, I was disappointed to see his accuracy fell extremely short of the preseason hype.
  8. I think the only thing that firing Riley now would accomplish is making the fan base feel a little better about two weeks early. However, that is not going to speed up the coaching search, change anything or make a difference with who the next HC is as you have said. The timeline remains the same....we will know who our new HC is after their bowl game.
  9. POB has the ability to scramble for a few yards unlike Lee. Spielman runs great routes, has sure hands and gives it his all on every play..... he is the bright spot on the offense. Our O Line makes me want to puke... it soooo bad. Our entire D is embarrassing. Tackling.....it looks more like we practiced at all the different ways to miss tackles. There is no fire on the team at all and zero leadership trying keep the team motivated. Special team on kicks needs serious work. WE ARE A DUMPSTER FIRE.
  10. I chose to address only the first part of your statement that dealt with kneeling and not the rest. I should have bolded that to be more clear. I am done with this thread now.
  11. I am not sure you fully understand why people are upset at the kneeling. Maybe I don't, who knows? Many have zero problem with protesting and actually support it. Its the manner in which they have chosen to do it they makes people upset. Many believe in the tradition of standing for the anthem as way of showing respect for our country and the sacrifices made. As an example to try and make my point......most consider weddings to be sacred and a cherished event. If I were to go into your wedding and kneel or protest in someway, does it make it okay? If I just say "it is not meant to be disrespectful", does that mean the wedding was not some how effected and tarnished? I think respecting the players right to protest but asking them to find another way besides something that people cherish is a good middle ground/compromise. By kneeling during the anthem, it all comes across as my beliefs are more important than yours. We don't all have to think alike, but we all must find ways to effectively communicate and compromise if we are going to have a functioning society.
  12. Yes, I did, so I do understand why you asked. It was the most recent example.
  13. Way to lash out. Zoogs; this is exactly what I mean.
  14. Perhaps there there are many reasonable debates to be had. However, they need to be had be reasonable people. Unfortunately, there are far too many that are bringing these historical "offenses" to light, that have no interest in being reasonable. A throw out the baby with bath water mentality if you will. I do not subscribe to the "you must think like me and agree with me" mentality that is invading our society. I want reasonable discussions with those that are wiling to listen, but usually lashing out and violence seems to be the first steps. Why does everything have to be about choosing a side now? Most likely because people are losing their ability to be reasonable and engage in honest communication.
  15. Its never sung. If one person on a team offends someone, does it make the whole team bad? No. Does one bad apple from a whole bushel make them all bad? No. You simply remove the bad apple. In the case of the anthem, you do not sing that verse.
  16. I certainty hope that no one would advocate for never singing it, but I am sure there are those that would. I understand your point that it may be over done and has lost it meaning to many. Your suggestion of national holidays and other special events is good, but can be left up to event organizers to choose if they want it or not. I fear it it would die over time. The game time anthem is a tradition that is embedded into the fabric of our society, and even though some don't care, look at their phones etc etc, its still means something to many. If we start giving up our traditions in the county, what is next?
  17. It's not "weird" to me. I think its great to have a time honored tradition that reminds us our great county and the sacrifices that have been made. If not at a sporting event, then when? You eliminated almost everything looking at your list. Perhaps never? https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2016/08/30/a-brief-history-of-the-star-spangled-banner-being-played-at-games-and-getting-no-respect/?utm_term=.f41f74b04199 http://time.com/4955623/history-national-anthem-sports-nfl/
  18. It is just marketing under the guise of appreciation. Even with that said, I don't mind. I am a proud veteran with a love of country and symbols that represent....... such as our flag and anthem.
  19. i agree. Open the checkbook and get a PROVEN coach. However, all to often schools have gotten burned when they opened the check book and got today's flavor for a coach that proved worthless in the end. McElwain comes to mind. Of course I realize that PROVEN coaches looking for work are not exactly in abundance.
  20. Please gives us examples of Fitz making "one bad decision after another". I know his clock management was poor towards the end of the first half, but I disagree with him being a bad coach. As others have said, he does more with less.
  21. I think Langs lost the game at the end of the fourth qtr. We are at mid field with a 1st down.....instead of playing to move the chains by getting a few yards on each down and going for a last second field goal, he wastes a down by going deep down the sidelines. Now, perhaps that was Tanners decision and there were multiple reads, but I would still blame Langs for giving him that option. Langs and Cav should have been gone when our not so "special" teams coordinator was let go.
