Hey, tell me if I go to far, but this statement seems a little off to me. I mean, there's hoping for your team, and I even don't mind people saying that they'll win, but a blow out? I mean, losses to USC and Oklahoma aren't that bad, but OK State says something (the Texas game shouldn't have even been a loss so I don't count that). But Auburn's loss to UGA isn't very good either. But even losses aside, I don't know if Nebraskas really beaten any great teams this year. Good ones, yes, aTm, and TT, but I don't know if those teams quite compare to Florida and LSU this year. I'm not trying to say that Auburn is gonna blow out Nebraska, I'm just saying that if Nebraska does win, it'll most likely be within 14. Hell, I don't think Auburn would blow out Nebraska, although I'd give them 17 since the spread is 3 in Auburn's favor. Sorry if I seem defensive, but all week before the LSU game we had LSU fans making predictions of the likes of 45-3 and 30-0 in favor of LSU. And then they can't handle the loss. I just want to be able to have resonable discussions on this game. As for being in the SEC, yeah, its starting to look like that finally helps a team out, since the SEC is getting a good rep, but c'mon, the big XII northin isn't THAT underrated. People like Hawkeye, probably are still influenced by our handling of Florida in '95 and Tennessee in '97. Shoot''it's even a little difficult for me to take the SEC as serious as I should..(Their teams are not always overrated)..And We aren't near the same team we were...We're probably more compairable to that Gator team that we blew out. Hope you don't get offended..part of the fun of the outrageous banter is the tall tales we don't tell anymore. Hope this Cotton Bowl is a Classic!!

Good Story.. But that still doesn't 'splain why Alabama has an Elephant doing laundry (tide). And when that magnificent Waaarrrrr Eagle', (Tiger VI) circles the stadium, I wouldn't want to be wearing Dred Locks. If I remember right, Eagles just LOVE things that look like snakes!

i like it, and here is why. One, the big12 typically gets a lot of credit for being a difficult conference to play in. A large part of why it is so difficult to get through this conference is because of the championship game. Take it away and i'm not sure how our conference fairs when compared to the Pac 10, Big 10 or Big East. Two, this year we've seen with Florida how a championship game can give a much needed boost to a team trying to get in at the end of the season. i look at that game as giving us a sort of tie breaker over other conferences. Three, i really don't see why so many think it's hurting us. Oklahoma lost and still went to the NC, as did NU. five of the previous six years we've had a team from the big 12 in the nc game. Four, the way the big 10 determines things often ends up with co-champions... imagine if Wisky had beaten Michigan... what a mess that would be. It makes much more sense that the Big 10 should adopt a championship format rather than we drop ours. I don't have a problem with the Pac 10, because as a 10 team league each play 9 games in a round robin style. The way I look at it is their champion plays 9 conference games just as ours does. And related to two above, the way we play our 9 games is likely to give an edge in SOS over how they do theirs. Five: How else does a 12 team league determine a conference winner? the answer is that is probably doesn't, and the removal of the championship game is probably tied to the disolving of the Big 12 conference. Six: a championship games allows for increased revenue. Seven:Probably the big benefit is the increased practice time..Imagine how flat OSU and Meechicken are going to be with so much more time off? I can see Osborn's point,..We might have been able to score a better Bowl than the Cotton if we didn't end with a loss..I like the chance to play Auburn, though. I think if we ever did go to a playoff(sucks) system, the Conferences should be smaller so every team could play each other and not need a Conf. Championship game. If Wiscy would've beaten Mechicken this season, we might have seen the li'l leven have TWO teams in the MNC game..Imagine the $$$ for one conference. We could have a similar situation with OU or TX if two of us went Undefeated during the season..The Conference Championship game eliminates that possibility.

I guess discoveries like this help (me) along with overcoming (my) prejudice.. Lately, I'm under the impression that it (gayness) occurs as a result of a combination of factors. 1st you have a chromosome that doesn't fit the "norm" resulting in people that you swear were "meant" to be gay..(Gaydar alarms going off whenever you're within 100' of the person..Like Cristopher Lowell or Richard Simmons). Then you also have to have that same person raised by a "cold" parent (usually the same sex, but not able to nurture for some reason..My Dad was sorta like that at times). I may be totally wrong and am sure to show my ignorance, but it's just a theory. The main thing is it shouldn't matter if "they" have "our" acceptance or even how a person gets a disease of any kind..We should all just concentrate on finding a cure, and help others cope.

We should play each other (more regularly) in the regular season. We could always use more "Friendly Rivals" and would boost both of our Strength of Schedule ratings.

Wow. uh, ok? Hey..For some of us, it IS "natural". My Parents drilled into me to believe everybody's equal, and for the most part I have (Except for White Supremecists and innitially..the Gay community..but I'm trying to make strides in the Gay area). I never met my Father-in-Law, but the reprecussions of his death had to have been monumental to his survivors..His Son was a "troubled" Jr. in High School at the time..but turned his life around to where he teaches literature in Philidelphia...My Wife was a So. at OSU and may have rushed into a couple of Marriages/Divorces trying to cope..She's really great now, and Teaches Grade School..Just sometimes the pain returns and I wish there was more I could do, ...besides occaisionally root for the Buckeyes. At the time, they had to pretend he died of Cancer..Aids was so unknown at the time, and no one was totally sure how it was transmitted..My Mother-in-Law was a High School Teacher and was very worried She might be affected or could pass it on through casual contact...Then there was the shame to hide from the rest of the Family. I feel for those with Aids, and especially the ones they love.

I had all 4 of my Wisdom Teeth pulled at the same time.. They knocked me out to get the impacted ones and wouldn't let me drive to get there, so I had to jog back to get back to work.. That was fun, although I may have run into a fence on the way..and Mebbie a couple of parked cars. I think I still have the pain pills..forgot to use them. (I'm not tough..just forgetful).

It's not just the BCS..The NCAA was pretty stupid in caving to the networks desire to shorten the games with their new clock rules..There's gotta be a way of preventing them from trying out new changes "Willy Nilly" any given season just to serve special interests groups. The B©S isn't perfect..but it's mucho better than what we had before,,anybody remember the "Bowl Alliance"?...Everything was OK as long as the Pac10/Big10 wasn't in the top two. Or the "Bowl System"? before the conference ty-ins..where Bear Bryant could manipulate the Bowls to avoid playing T.O.'s Huskers in the early/mid 70's? A pure playoff system would unavoidably take (way) to much away from the regular season..there's no way around it..The College Football Season would resemble a Basketball game...No need to watch until the last minute or two...We have enough trouble keeping the older season ticket holders off their hands as it is even with every game being "Life or Death".

GC.. I almost always agree with your posts. But would be very dissapointed if we went to a playoff system. If you want playoffs, watch the NFL. One of the things that make Division 1 College Football so much more exciting than the NFL IS the controversy. I still get into arguments with Michigan fans over who would've won a game between UM/NU in '97. How many of you (Without looking it up) can even name the teams that played in the SuperBowl that year? I can't even think who was in it last year. There's also the Rock/Paper/Scissors scenario. (So much of your sucess would depend on who you played in your playoff).. Paper U. covered the spread against Rock State, who later crushed Scissors A&M...But early in the Season, Scissors A&M sliced through Paper U's secondary and won by two touchdowns. I could see maybe having a compromise and have an extra game after the Bowls, but even that would tinker with the Controversy factor a little much.

Probably the best matchup for a MNC would be OSU/USC...Maybe even Florida/OSU. But part of me would rather watch Boise State take on the Bucks.. Even if they lost..OSU wouldn't get any consideration as a "Best Team Ever" because they "didn't beat anyone."

Nah.. They shouldn't have any trouble with either OU or NU..No need to practice at all....They can even have mass amounts of sex the night before the game and wear out their hind legs.. (I hope their players read these things)
