  1. I watched last night's NU VS OU game and came away very impressed with the NU defense. WOW. O'Hanlon is a man child, and Crick and Suh just keep getting better. I was very impressed with the performance against a very good OU team. As for my Jayhawks, we're currently in a free fall, and we're in major jeopardy of not winning 6 games. Todd Reesing is not the same player, and opposing defenses have figured him out....it reminds me alot of last year's Missouri team and Chase Daniel. People caught on to what he waas doing. KU should bench Todd Reesing and play Kyle Pick from here on out. We have to get ready for next season, so why not see what the kid can do. This will likely not happen, and I hate the fact that we'll be going into next season without an experienced QB. Yeah, I know Todd has done alot for my Jayhawks, but he's also accounted for 12 turnovers...that's right, 12 turnovers in 4 games. You just can't do that playing division 1 football. It's pathetic. Prediction from here going forward. Next week's game in Lawrence will be good. I expect it to be low scoring and for the Husker defense to give Reesing fits all game long. The KU defense has gotten better, but it doesn't matter when the offense isn't helping the field position battle. Huskers 24 Jayhawks 9 I like KSU to beat Missouri, but lose to Nebraska. As long as the Huskers hold serve, they should get their shot at Texas in the Big 12 Title game. And.....I don't think Texas is really that much better than OU. So who knows what will happen. I will say this. KU will lose to Nebraska and Texas....but we BEAT Missouri ar Arrowhead to become bowl eligible!!!
  2. Here I am cruising through this thread looking for some good laughs, and I run across this. Glad to see I've made such an impression on ya, son. Prediction - Another sloppy game. Whatever ails our offense isn't fixed in a week. We win... but ugly. God save us next week. I really do enjoy your insight Knapplc. I also like Michaels posts. I'm right with you guys and understand what you're going through with KU. It's just the reverse....we have no defense and your offense is struggling. I just hope to keep the score respectable against TT this weekend....oh who am I kidding. KU gets rolled in Lubbock!!! I plan to be drinking heavily during the game to drown the pain!!
  3. When OU gets to town the fanbase is rejuvenated and yet again has unrealistic expectations and dreams of beating he Sooners. Only to see those dreams fanished with a final score of 27-3. Don't get mad Husker nation, you know it will happen. KU is in the same boat right now. We're not nearly as good as we once thought.
  4. I predict that Nebraska goes out and beats a Bad Baylor team without Griffin and wins...oh lets say 27-6. Then next week all the fans come back to this board, thumping their chests, and posting "restore the order" "Throw the Bones cause the Blackshirts are back"!! Then. Knappl, pulls out his pitcher of kool-aid and everyone starts drinking.......then OU comes to town.
  5. I would start Cody Green from here on out. You can only imporve upon last week and the more experience Cody can get now will prepare him for seasons to come. The kid is going to be really special. Just my thoughts.
  6. That ISU team is scary huh husker fans? Glad KU was able to hold on. But doesn't really matter now that the hawks are falling faster than Larry johnsons rep in Kansas city. Crappy year to be a jayhawks a d chiefs fan.

    4-8

Lol. I told all of u isu was good. Too bad u didn't listen.
  8. Isu will be able to score points on the huskers. Stop being delusional about how great you think your defense is. Outside of a boy named suh, your defense is pretty average. Aurnad will be able to move the ball....the real question is can u score? U should be able to run the ball very well against isu. The clones have the worst defensiveine in the big 12.
  9. You husker kool aid suckers will find out soon enough that ISU is no pushover and you should be very concerned about this game. I'm not saying they will win, but it would not be a surprise. The north is wide open boys.
  10. I feel the same way about KU right now. We easily could lose 4 more games...perhaps 5. The entire North is a complete mess right now.
  11. The messed up thing about CU is that this Hansen kid is twice the QB that Hawkins ever is or was. CU was helped by having "Daddy's Boy" on the bench.
  12. How did they score a billion points today? Did Snyder fill their water bottles with steroids? That score doesn't make since.
  13. I would say you're correct. I really hate playing in Boulder.
  14. So now what? Both Big 12 North Favorites go down to teams they were favored to beat. KU's defense is complete garbage and Nebraska's offense is no better. WAIT!! I have the solution to both our troubles!! We combine teams! Take KU's offense and Nebraska's defense and put them on the same team. No doubt we'd win the Big 12 Title!!! Anyway, I'm super pissed right now and have come to the conclusion that all our games will be down to the wire because of our defense. At least I got an early look at Texas Tech and I can now GUARANTEE they smoke KU in Lubbuck. Heck, at this point, I just want to win 8 games now. This really sucks.
  15. I just want to say good luck to the huskers as well. With that said, I would like to see u lose a few games in the big 12, cause I still think ku will lose to all 3 south teams. But who knows. One game at a time I suppose. But god our defense looks lost. Good thing we average 40 a game. Ku has a long way to go and Nebraska has to be the favorite at this point. Good luck boys!
  16. It's not difficult to "call VT in our favor" at all. The fact that we lost that game does not negate the fact that we played toe-to-toe with a very tough opponent, in one of the most difficult places to play in the country, and nearly beat them. Losing does not obviate this game entirely. Lessons can be learned from losses. Ignoring that cheapens your argument. This is an utter cup of fail. First, your "worst cupcake" was Furman. Have you forgotten this game? Or do you simply choose to ignore it because it doesn't support your argument? Second, to support your point you must use a ranking system that is at least realistic. CFN and Massey have Nebraska ranked 5th & 12th, respectively. These are hardly realistic rankings. Not one major publication or news source endorses these rankings, nor are they referenced in any way while discussing college football by... anyone. Anywhere. And I know, because I talk college football with folks across the country, both fans and sports writers. You simply cannot arbitrarily pick rankings systems which support your argument, no matter how flawed or disrespected they are, and expect to be taken seriously in a conversation. Sagarin, which actually is endorsed by a respected journalism source (USAToday), has a far more realistic ranking which includes both division one and division two. By that ranking, your SOS averages 88.25, while Nebraska's averages 86.5. Here's where you can pound your chest - your "worst cupcake" according to Sagarin is Furman, ranked 102nd in the country (out of 245 teams). Our worst cupcake, Arkansas State, is ranked 125th. There's your win. Cheers! Yeah, and Arkansas State just about beat Iowa today. So there, this proves the Little Eleven are overrated. Ok, had nothing to do with the arguments at hand, just trying to lighten the mood. Iowa beat Ark State.
  17. And Kansas Blasted Duke 44-16, the same Duke team that was only down 20-16 in the 4th quarter to V-Tech. Then went on to only lose by 8. I guess KU should be in the top ten as well. We can play this game comparison thing all day long.
  18. Duke almost beat Virginia Tech today......hmmmmmm.....
  19. Then your point is weaker if you're only talking about 2009. You're claiming "Missouri has backed up their smack" and Nebraska hasn't. You're basing this on... what? Missouri's 111th ranked SOS? Four creampuffs is hardly "backing up smack." I am basing this off the fact that MU has owned NU the last few years and they have won the most recent games against us. What was the score of last years NU vs. MU game? And the year before that? They have beaten NU most recently. Sure we own the series but they have throttled us the last few years. Because they beat NU last year, they have every and all rights to talk smack against NU and their fans. How the tide turns is for NU to step up and win. They do this and the MU smack stops. If not, it continues. It's just that simple..... I love how your argument changes. Now that we've got your argument pinned down, my original comment to you stands - your argument would carry a lot more weight if this was last year. Chase is gone, Maclin is gone, both Coordinators are gone, and this is not as talented a team as Missouri 2008. All this "scoreboard" talk is cheap. It carries as much weight as Nebraska's 30+ game advantage in the all-time series. None of those guys are playing this year. Points don't carry forward. We have this year and this year only on which to base opinions, and Missouri's resume to this point isn't as good as Nebraska's. My point(s) haven't changed on bit. Instead of trying to pin anybody's point, you should try comprehension first. Just sit back read. Feel free to continue to move your lips as you do. Don't attack the person, attack the argument. Never attacked you or your opinion. Just telling it like it is. sorry dude, but Knapplc is correct. you did backtrack on what you said: " 2008 is a moot point as I'm talking about 2009." "I am basing this off the fact that MU has owned NU the last few years and they have won the most recent games against us. What was the score of last years NU vs. MU game? And the year before that? " i have sat back and not said anything but you do that every time you get into a back and forth conversation and someone says something that makes your previous point moot even though it is right there in front of you. it gets old watching your posts stick their collective feet in your mouth and you still think you are correct! Now back on topic, the 2009 game is not played in 2008 (MU win) or 2006 (NU win) for that matter! the game is played in 2009 and currently NU has proven more than MU has. your argument is baseless and does not hold water...sorry. I agree that Knapplc is correct here. Missouri has proved nothing in terms of being better than NU this year. You're kind of contradicting yourself here in your statements. Anyone who follows football is giving the edge to Nebraska from what they've seen over the last 4 weeks. I think the game will be close, but the difference will be Nebraska's defense and how they'll effect Blaine Gabbert. Gabbert will be tested from start to finish in this game and I like Nebraska's chances of flustering the rookie. Defense wins this game in Columbia. If I had to predict the score today...i'd say: Nebraska 27 MU 15
  20. I think your defense will give Gabbert fits all day. I really like your chances of winning in Columbia this year. I've watched Missouri play twice now and from what I've seen of Nebraska, you'll beat them in the trenches. I'm giving the nod to the Huskers in this one.
  21. This is exactly my point. Iowa beat Penn State last night. So does that mean that Northern Iowa could beat Penn State, since Northern Iowa played better against Iowa than Penn State?? Of course not!! All I'm saying is there's alot of fans on here thumping their chest about a "moral victory". You still lost the game. Your defense still gave up 80 yards at the end of the game to lose. You play to win the games. You have to play a full 4 quarters to win. People on here are mad at me because I won't give you love for playing VT close. NOBODY gave my Jayhawks ANY love for beating VT in the Orange Bowl...even though half the team is now on the NFL...Eddie Royal, Brandon Flowers...just to name a few. So don't yell at me because I won't give ya'll love. You played well, congrats. But you still lost.
  22. Southern Miss. Southern Miss. It is true that they always play each other hard, but that does not discredit what Neb. did in Blacksburg. As for you comment out the score being different if they had played in the Orange Bowl, while the score might have been different VT would have still won. They were just more physical than Miami. As for us playing you guys in Lawrence, umm unless ya'll get better or something changes Neb. is going to bring out the big stick and whack away. Please! Miami has played 3 straight ranked opponents. Try playing 3 straight and bring your A game to each one of those games. It's a very difficult thing to do for college kids. For anyone to say Nebraska or anyone else in the North for that matter, is better than Miami is delusional. Miami has more team speed than Nebraska could ever imagine. That goes for KU and everyone else in the North. 2 different levels of competition. You can't just point to one game and proclaim you're better because of that. Could Nebraska go into FSU and win? Could they beat Georgia Tech at home??? Seriously...ask yourself that before you start saying you're better than Miami. As for KU, don't worry about us. Unlike you we took care of business in the non conference. We beat Southern Miss and our defense won the game for us. Southern Miss will likely win Conference USA. They're a good football team and played like it. It was a good win for the Jayhawks.
  23. You guys have to be kidding me? NU is better than Miami because you played V-Tech closer in Blacksburg? Really!?! Miami is better than Nebraska. V-Tech plays Miami EVERY year and knows them inside and out. You can't base their performance over Miami as they're so much better. Put the game in the Orange Bowl, without the rain and elements and suddenly Miami becomes the better team. You Huskers make me laugh. Can't wait to play ya'll in Lawrence. LOL.
