  1. Your not go to fix it over night, SP and Billy Bob screwed this program for years!!! We will be back, but it will take time.
  2. Let's hope we can kep it within 21 like Turner!
  3. Did anyone look at the future USC schedule? They do have Ohio St, but they also have Notre Dame, San Jose St, Virgina and Hawaii in the next 3 years.
  4. Even as bad as we are this year, I would much rather being playing OU than sCUm. Wasn't T.O. and Barry on the staff when the game of the century was played? Those were the good old days.
  5. IBR could you please add me also almighty one!
  6. From what I read on a LJS blog, Cally gets paid $62500 per month for the remainder of his contract if he is let go, which is $750000 a year.
  7. I think that Pedy and Cally exhausted there supply of the kool-aid today. Anybody that think they still deserve more time are crazy. The time has come for change once again.
  8. I will do my best Gundy impersonation... THAT AIN'T TRUE! I would refuse to believe that Nebraska couldn't compete with anyone in the country for a player! As long as Nebraska hasn't fallen too far behind in facilities, with the right coach, Nebraska will compete with ANYONE in the country when it comes to recruits! I know I was skeptical of the same thing when our AD brought in a defensive coach, Bob Stoops, and he brought in a spread offense. I thought there is no way we are going to compete with the XYZs of the world to bring in QBs and WRs to a running university! I was wrong and I think you are wrong too. Keep your head up, keep going to the games and keep supporting your Huskers! But, by all means, don't accept mediocrity! And, remember, it might actually get worse before it gets better! Boomer Sooner!! How could it get any worse?
  9. Gotta have fans in the stands to have a chant. Maybe the players will do it.
  10. Gotta have fans in the stands to have a chant. Maybe the players will do it.
  11. "I think from my own experiences that overreactions generally cost you somewhere down the line," Pederson said. "And when you take a long-term view of things they generally work out. Well he is finding out firing a coach that went 9-3 (No matter who the coach is ) was a overeaction and now it's most likely going to cost him his reputation and job. And that's what it really comes down to, with all of this negativity and wailing and whining and wringing of hands . . . there is still a core of Solich supporters that are chomping at the opportunity to get even with Pederson for firing him. They are doing their level best to destroy this program as an act of revenge. Pederson did the right thing. Solich was truly running the Huskers into the ground . . . his odd player relationships (remember the Crouch affair?) really didn't look good, and he couldn't recruit for beans. The old option offense lost its luster, everyone had learned how to defend it, and I don't think that Solich was too big on the idea of change. Pederson selected a good, reputable coach, and that is where we are today. Pederson does not coach the team, and you have to look at all of NU's athletic programs before you continue to defame him. Nearly evey other athletic program is progressing very well, and that says something. And the football program will progress, too, if the mob can be held at bay. And, please, stop calling him "Pud." That's childish and disrespectful. GO BIG RED!! The disrepct for Pederson has absolutely nothing to do with being a Solich supporter. It has everything to do with the fact that... 1. He gave the HC a year to "correct things" after going 7-7. The HC did what he had to do, fired some assistants that probably needed to retire, and brought in some young energy. 2. That HC went 9-3 and was fired. Very, very, very few programs in the country will fire a coach for going 9-3 after he made the required changes and improved the team. 3. Mr. Pederson decided to go on a "One Man" search for the new head coach. Most big time programs out there develop a search committee to bring in a new head coach to there #1 money making sport. It is just too important to leave to one man. 4. Said one man search turned into a total fiasco. Offering people all over the place and getting turned down. Remember Nutt??? 5. Now, the One Man that Pederson found has been incapable of even matching the record of the HC that was fired after 4 years AND he gets an extension. Seems odd. 6. Rumors, and not just rumors, are all over the place about Mr. Pederson rejecting the former players --our tradition and probably one of our biggest recruiting strengths ('cause it sure isn't location). Therefore, it has nothing to do with being a Solich supporter. It has strictly to do with the fact that Pederson came in a decided HE was going to put HIS mark on the program. He was going to do it HIS way, everyone else be damned. There is no act of revenge for Solich. There is strictly a bunch of pissed off fans because of one egomaniac. again, great post, spot on with this one too. What do the kool-aid drinkers have to answer that? What an awesome post.
  12. Sigh, what could have been... Yeah, I sold some stock at $10,000 once and a couple years later it was worth $40,000. What might have been will never be. He still isn't a head coach, by the way. That's what I'd like to know He's not a head coach because 99 percent of fans aren't good at choosing coaches. As if that wasn't obvious enough. Well it appears to me that Pedy not that good at choosing coaches either?
  13. Was I around?? YOU BET!! I was actually at the great Game of the Century in Norman, Oklahoma, in 1970, sitting and standing in that cold wind of the Snake Pit. I still remember Kinney's ragged tearaway jersey and Johnny R's amazing punt return! I also remember Tom Osborne's dark days, when everyone was bagging on him, just like they are doing to Callahan today. He nearly went to Colorado out of frustration! We are darned lucky to have Callahan and crew on board. BC shows amazing restraint and clarity of purpose, despite obstacles. Continuity, confidence, and fan support is what it is all about, folks! Now, get with the program! I can't believe that you even dare criticize NU for the Missouri game; why, look at how all of you have come apart! These Huskers WILL overcome adversity. You can use them as your own example; I think that you might learn something valuable! GO BIG RED Please quit drinking the BC/Pedy kool-aid! It is making you think that mediocrity is acceptable.
  14. So what class will BC be teaching when he's done with football?
  15. Nebraska Postgame Quotes NU at Missouri Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007 Bill Callahan Nebraska Head Coach On Nebraska’s 41-6 loss to Missouri “First off, we are very disappointed in the loss this evening, but we do credit Missouri for a fine effort. They’re a very good ball club. We knew coming in that it was going to be a challenge for our football team. They certainly exemplify the ability to execute. They made the plays they needed to win the game.” On starting 1-1 in Big 12 Conference play “It’s not our standard of football. Certainly we can play better. We are certainly not out of [the Big 12 North race]. It was a conference game that was important to us. Anything can happen right now.” On the play of Missouri quarterback Chase Daniel “He’s an excellent quarterback. I had a chance to visit with him before the game, and I told him I thought he was having a heck of a year. He has excellent control of what [Missouri] is trying to accomplish with their offense and that was pretty indicative tonight.” On Missouri’s fake field touchdown with the score 34-6 “They did a good job with that fake field goal. That’s none of my business if they want to run that play. Our business is to defend it.”
  16. Maybe so, but they lost this one at home to snap a 35 game winning streak at home. They sure didn't struggle in Lincoln.
  17. How bad does USC losing to Stanford make us look!!!
