  1. this is the first year they went analytics heavy in determining the field. part of the problem with that is teams at the beginning of the year are shuffling parts around to find the best possible combinations. these teams are often better at the end of the year than the beginning but they took a loss that would most likely be a win towards the end of the year. or you get a team like OU who has a freshman phenom who teams at the start of the year dont have a full scouting report on so OU wins a few games they probably wouldnt be winning later on. injuries and suspensions throw things off even more. you beat a team missing a star player and now your numbers get inflated due to that team you beat being better with the star player back. they went from a flawed system to one that just seems flat out broke to determine the field. and that isnt a comment advocating NU being in the tourney.
  2. Pretty much any school in the American would be a good h/h. One of the things Wichita St did was to do neutral site games with both Oklahoma and Oklahoma St. Granted the neutral site was basically a home game for one school it wasnt an on campus game.
  3. Lovie can have all the time he wants. At illinois. Now if he was at NU he better have won a conference title for NU the year prior to his hiring.
  4. he gets his points. just has to work harder for them.
  5. dunno, just where i got the schedule from pulls their info from the wichita st athletic dept. so i guess they either copied wrong or wichita st had no idea where they were playing. and given the way they played, i'll go with that.
  6. it was played in wichita. just downtown at IBA.
  7. just a slight technicality fix.
  8. I alluded to this earlier. The vast majority of fbs football is subsidized by the individual schools. It hasnt been until recently that more than a handful of schools actually made money off football. Having intercollegiate sports enhances the college experience for regular students as well as the student athletes. Eliminating the non-revenue and female sports would just push students to other colleges that offer them. Title IX does more than just help female athletes. And if someone cant see that they are being willfully ignorant about it.
  9. why they would feel the need to see them in camp the summer prior to their senior year is stupid because most nebraska kids are camping at nebraska before they get to their junior year. the pride in playing for NU might not be as strong as it was during osborne's years but it is still there. the coaches should almost be on first name basis with all the lincoln and omaha schools and probably kearney and grand island schools as well. (being an HSH grad that kind of hurt to type that.)
  10. so, if this rule goes into effect will calling a for a fair catch at the 45 result in the ball being placed on the 25? cause if so, kickers will be learning an entirely new skill set, either kick the ball through the end zone or as high and short as possible.
  11. the first post of this thread says he is a defensive end.
  12. thats gonna leave like 10-15 schools playing football. lets do it.
  13. suck what? believe they took 2 of 3 this weekend. and those 2 were not even close.
  14. Are you sure about that? Big 12 usually had 4-5 teams ranked. His non-con was usually fluff though.
  15. why would it be odd for him to go to another program that would use him like a prototypical wr? as far as i know that staff that misused him isnt still together and there are some programs that wont misuse him like langsdorf did.
  16. dont get the shoe money unless you do.
  17. For as long as men's sports are offered. Dear lord i hope that was just sarcasm that i missed.
  18. The question is will he sustain the success or will it be a repeat of the seasons after the tourney year.
