  1. From what I understand, the idea behind vaccines is to teach your immune system how to fight these diseases. Working on that premise, it's actually beneficial for the immune system, no? That and I'm not sure using the term drug and vaccine interchangeably is all that responsible. They have different implied meanings.
  2. I guess history does repeat itself.. This was on the front page of reddit today. Apparently it's from the 40's. I guess it shouldn't surprise me that this sort of stuff, namely willful ignorance, can be timeless Here is a piece from a guy who's daughter died from Measles before vaccines were common, I guess https://roalddahl.com/roald-dahl/timeline/1960s/november-1962
  3. Yet people aren't doing it? Why? Great question. IMO, one reason could be some people are always on the look out for a reason why bad things happen. They want to know why their children develop autism. Why my nephew is diabetic. They want something to blame to make it easier on them. That way, they can feed their anger into a cause of some sort. When the truth may be that we just don't know. Now, the best way we know how to go from not knowing to knowing with some degree of certainty is science and it's practices. We've been using it for centuries with pretty good success. You couple wanting to know the reason with the fear of screwing up your kids and you have a compelling case for for some parents not to vaccinate. IMO, what they need to be looking at is potentially bigger effect on the spread of disease throughout the US and\or World versus the chance that someday your kid might develop a disorder. Never mind the fact that we have no reason to believe that one causes the other. The spread of disease is something that's pretty certain to happen if the level of un-vaccinated people goes up over time. We've been there. That's how we got here. It was bad, we came up with a pretty effective way to stop these diseases and it actually does work. That's how we rid the world of smallpox, the only disease to be eradicated. What doesn't work is not vaccinating your kids in the hopes that they won't develop some sort of disorder.
  4. He's heard of people getting sick from vaccines? Heard of? Well, I've heard of people being abducted by aliens too. Remember science, Rand. You know, that thing you're supposed to be good at. Science doesn't make assertions around things that are "heard" of. This is ridiculous. It's actually becoming a bit of an issue if you look at the trend for measles, for example. http://www.cdc.gov/measles/cases-outbreaks.html It's becoming a problem as people don't really get how vaccines are supposed to work.
  5. I always thought playing a position like o-line well required some level of football acumen. Seems like this kid might have the tools to be smart in the trenches and use his size to his advantage instead of just leaning on it.
  6. I don't really think this is possible for what you're looking for. You want to offload the music to the cloud, but you still need to be able to play it on the device, so it needs to be resident on the device. My advice would be look into streaming services like Spotify or Pandora. You won't really have to worry about storage with those services as long as you have service and can just stream the music.
  7. Live sports is why I'm still subscribed to cable. Between streaming services, etc I think the rest would be covered. Damn it.
  8. It does sound cool. Gotta start mending some of these fences, somehow.
  9. He might have been right, but you just don't say stuff like that in that situation. You don't know the family well enough to know exactly how they're going to react. Mattison probably thought he did, but he obviously didn't
  10. I'm excited to see Rose not injured. As Jon gruden might say, THIS GUY!
  11. Pretty sure most underclassmen struggle with this, for whatever reason. I have faint memories of Ahman Green having similar issues in his early days. No worries, he'll get it shored up. They usually do!
  12. This guy has been through a lot in not only getting to the University, but now the injuries. He's gotta be chomping at the bit!
  13. I wonder how much of that budget was Bo related? I am under the impression that the administration sank a bunch of money into Bo and possibly his reported recruiting deficits.
  14. Need to dominate NE, IA SD, and ND.. Can't keep letting these kids leak out..
  15. Makes sense to me.. I like how this guy is talking about coaching up guys.. alot.
  16. It's nice to see a guy come out and admit that he has some research to do..
  17. This guy is very intriguing to me. Maybe it's just that he's so different than Bo, but he's sort of an enigma to me so far. Looking forward to what his approach develops as.
  18. Don't think there will be a presser on Monday. There is no game, why would there be a press conference?
  19. I've noticed it more lately on the iPad. I used to see it in Chrome, but I can't get it to do it in the past few days It smells like a intermittent javascript issue but without being able to reproduce it on a browser with dev tools built in, it's hard to diagnose. I have a Mac at work, maybe I'll hook up the iPad and use the web inspector to see if there is a js error.. Any other web developer types able to reproduce the issue?
