  1. For each year's subforum, can we pin a thread that has links to the team's recruiting pages and possibly the rankings page somewhere as well? This can be useful for us casual recruiting observers who come to HB instead of all the recruiting sites for news and the like. Thoughts?
  2. I think Nebraska needs to get their crap in order before we even consider them the top team in the conference. In my opinion though, all the games are way more winnable than they were last year when the Huskers were favored to win the division. It's almost the opposite of last year. Underachieve when predicted high, overachieve when predicted mediocre.
  3. 100% This. I don't think that Saban is a giant snake, just one who's willing to take advantage of lax regulations. We haven't seen cuthroat mentality out of Pelini yet. I'd like to see at least some. 75% of Bielema douchiness is what I want from Pelini.
  4. That's true, but does Nebraska have that kind of talent? It remains to be seen.
  5. I'm disappointed about that research after hearing about a switch in philosophy. I guess it's better that I did the research, so that I temper my expectations of what's going to happen this coming season.
  6. I compared Iowa's rankings in those stats last year to Nebraksa's. They both did poorly. Nebraska was worse. Nebraska can improve to Iowa's level, which isn't that much better to be honest. It all depends, we could see a better improvement than what I suggested, but I'm saying that the defensive line philosophy still doesn't suggest aggressiveness from the front four.
  7. According to last year's stats, Nebraska could see a 30 place improvement in Sacks and TFL's. Of course, going from 84th to about 60th, and 112th to about 85th, isn't exactly a return to aggressiveness.
  8. http://www.shakinthesouthland.com/2011/8/15/2358269/on-the-3-4-switch-and-multiple-fronts According to this link, it sounds like a lot has to do with the gap scheme Pelini deploys. I know Belichick goes hybrid, one and two gap, multiple front defense. They talked all about it during the super bowl. But we don't have a NT like Wilfork.
  9. I don't understand how a 3-4 switch, with Bo's philosophy, will bring pressure. He's always played bend but don't break, make the offense make mistakes, hunker down in the red zone kind of defensive coach. I don't see how it would be any different. It's like we're expecting Rex Ryan, Wade Phillips, and Dick LeBeau type defense out there when we're gonna see more of Belichick and Carrol. This is it guys: rush four guys so that the back end isn't as exposed. If they wanna roll with an odd front with single high behind it or an even front with two high, that's how Bo is gonna roll. It's up to those four guys to get it done. Or a fifth guy if we run under.
  10. Almost baby. It can also be considered a parasite. Not having an abortion, I'm dispensing of the matter that makes me fat for nine months.
  11. You could say that about women who've had abortions.
  12. I wonder what the misscarried fetuses would say to god why they never had a shot at life?
  13. I'd like to point out that Beck does indeed do this kind of stuff. He has quite a few packages that are designed to force the opponent to commit to a look and then go the other way once they do. The diamond formation is an example of that. There was also a package where we had 3 receivers, a TE, 2x2 and the slot receiver would come in motion for either a double option playside, a trap to burkhead, a counter option backside, an option pass playside, a counter option pass, a toss play to the slot, a toss play to the slot with a pass option. I noticed this package during a rewatch of the ohio state game, where the diamond was so effective.
  14. Regarding abortion, opponents need to find secular reasoning behind outlawing the procedure. If god thinks its a life that shouldn't be ended, then why SIDS and miscarriages?
  15. The free market can also breed collusion. The NCAA can deal with whomever and however they so choose. EA ponied up the dough and here we are. I wonder if going to the NCAA about releasing the exclusivity rights would help, expressing the displeasure with the titles and everything. Someone was talking about how having exclusive deals for both Madden and NCAA might have to go by the wayside for one or the other games because EA is starting to take hits financially with market share, customer service, and needing to focus on other titles. I'd like verification on that though. I could have sworn that exclusivity contract was supposed to be coming up for expiration here soon...
  16. He spent 15 minutes of fame on this. The novelty will be less than that of a pet rock.
  17. I think she forgot the part about the University-wide policy about discrimination based on religion. Most of you are right, if he starts an anti gay group on campus, we have a problem but to state that he is representing the university and their beliefs is ludicrist. In comparison to President Obama's light heart comment about the Secret Service agents caught up in Columbian affair, just a bunch of "knuckleheads". He must think spending taxpayer money on hookers and coke is OK because they are just knuckleheads, something most of us called our kids when they did something silly-stupid. Discrimination based on religion doesn't protect hate speech. If I were to go around saying people were sinners, were going to hell, and were going to answer to the Father in heaven because they were working on the Sabbath, eating pork or shellfish, or letting woman be in authority, I would be fired without a second thought. Would I have a case for discrimination? I truly believe these things! DOWN WITH WOMAN'S SUFFRAGE AND LOBSTER TAILS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Your candor in these threads suggests otherwise
  19. Give it a shot. Humble yourself that there might be information counter to your beliefs.
  20. Instead of posting a picture like this, why don't you research what the guy actually said? Claiming ignorance while also claiming superior knowledge of the one true god....arrogance of some people. Humble thyself.
  21. I wanna know if these cats know the difference between "we will win" and "we want to win". "We will win", which nobody has said by the way, suggests the arrogance and delusions of grandeur that posters are balking at. This is where it stops, you understand these emotions and opinions immediately. "We want to win", what they are saying, suggests something that they wanna do. Further investigation is needed with this phrase because it could suggest that that person just wants it and doesn't want to work for it. Clearly, these kids are working for these goals, have self-awareness of the problems that need to be fixed, and you can reasonably say that their "want to" is grounded in realism somewhat. You can say "prove it" all you want, but how do you prove that you want something really badly?
  22. Freedom of speech governs how the federal government can't restrict certain rights. Not the effing NCAA. The NCAA isn't a federal bureau. It is a governing body that universities and colleges employ. They basically hired out their regulations and executors.
  23. Why do they have them all spread out in a picture? Are those pics hotlinked from ebay?
