  1. one of the most classless displays I have ever seen in sports, period.
  2. Coach Gruden in Wednesday's post-practice press conference, referring to Carriker: He’s a great big man, very powerful guy. He’s got a chance to be a base defensive end in a 3-4 defense without question. We’re looking at him as an under tackle played as a six technique. Great motor, very powerful guy and pass rush. This guy’s going to be a very good player in this league, no question bout that.
  3. I'm so distraught that I have been watching Senior Bowl practices just to see Moore and Carriker. I found myself waking up early this morning and actually cheering out loud when they did well in 1 on 1 drills. Next season can't get here soon enough.
  4. Taylor played in the East-West shrine game, and although he didnt get as much PT as other guys, most of the coaches look at the whole week of practice. I was curious, has anyone heard if he elevated his draft stock? Obviously if he gets drafted it will be later rounds (if at all), but I was still hopeful that he had a good week of practice. Also, for those of you who have NFL Network, three of our defenders (Moore, Carriker, Bradley) are playing in the Senior bowl, whose practices are televised live on NFL Network. The North squad (which is the one our boys are playing on) practice at 10:30 A.M. Eastern, if your interested in watching. From what I've seen and read, Carriker is the most dominant defensive lineman on either team thus far and he is rapidly rising his stock to a mid-first rounder.
  5. Mallory.....Snyder? HAWT ......oh by the way....... Memorial Stadium: 52% Just so you know, Mallory is a former ISU Cyclone.......not that it's gonna stop me from staring....
  6. The guy who wrote that article witnessed the Alamo bowl against Michigan, meaning all of the Husker faithful were enclosed in venue that holds sound in, making it much louder than it would be in a conventional outdoor stadium. The reason Memorial Stadium is quieter than others is that the design of the stadium does not allow sound to be kept in. Even stadiums like Wisconsin's Camp Randall and Ohio State's Horse Shoe is that they have sides that have large, tiered seating that to some extent keep crowd noise bottled up. Our end zone stands are what kills this chance for us. Instead of building up, they built it out, which is why a lot of the noise escapes. Another example of this is the Big House of michigan. Sure, it holds 110,000. But because the stadium just goes out forever instead of up, Wisconsin's 80,000 are louder.
  7. I agree with the comments about Lucky being Cally's project. It seems that he will always be getting looks to see if he can break through the wall and become our featured back. With that said, we've commented on Lucky's inability to fight through contact and Glenn's lack of breakaway speed. If BJax were to leave, why not Kenny Wilson? I mean it's obvious that there is something between him and the coaches preventing him from being on the field more. Maybe he doesnt hit the books enough, maybe he doesnt know the plays as well, but from a physical standpoint, that guy has all the tools of a #1 back. He has blazing speed, and he runs people over, as we saw late in the Colorado game. Either way, I wish he would straighten out whatever it is that he needs to, I'd love to see him on the field more often.
  8. Notre Dame claims to have won 11 national titles. This is decieving, because if you look at concensus titles, they have won 8. When you look at those 8, half of them were won pre-1950 (four in the 40's), one in the 60's, two in the 70's, and the last coming in '88. Meaning that for all the media attention this team gets, the reality is that it has been nearly 20 years since their last national championship.
  9. I dont strive for his acceptance, far from it. But when a man fails to do proper research for segments and rip on an entire program, and to some extent, an entire conference, I merely question his professional integrity. He thinks the '86 Penn State team is better than '71 Nebraska because supposedly the Huskers never passed? Nebraska averaged 180 yards a game through the air that year, good for #1 in the Big 8. The closest game that team played was the Game of the Century, which they followed up by destroying #2 Alabama 38-6. And these are just a few examples of his lack of research or knowledge, depending on how you look at it. The truth is, I dont want acceptance from this guy, the more innacurate and biased he is, the worse it makes ESPN look, which is fine by me. Everything you say is right, but the fact is they don't hire these guys because they know every stat and are totally neutral in their mindset. They are hired state their opinion which in a sense, means they get paid to stir the pot. It's pretty lame if you ask me, but he must like it. You make a good point, its not his job to know obscure stats like that, but there is a difference between stirring the pot (which is the point of any show involving "experts" and thier "analysis") and showing almost outright contempt because one team's fans decided to come out and support their program by voting. When he was forced to choose between the '95 and '71 teams, he picked '95 because "I like this logo better, the red N", and you could see in his face what amounted to disgust. I dont ask that these guys know everything, nor do I want them to sit and bring nothing controversial to the table. I'm all in favor of rational dialogue about college football, but when a guy piss and moans about something for five minutes, and all of it is directed at one program, it passes the line of appropriate. I almost couldnt watch the whole thing, I was so irate. So much for rational dialogue.

  11. I realize there is a whole other topic devoted to this, but I wanted to give anyone who hasnt seen the evidence of his blatant anti-Nebraska bias to see it in video. This guy is an ass.
  12. I love how instead of talking about how dominant our running game was, they focus on Phillip's off-the-field problems. Typical ESPN. MOST DOMINANT TEAM EVER.
  13. Well, we could always put them against fellow 2-10 team Illinois and see how that goes.....
  14. My thoughts are that I'm concerened that any of our arguments will start to sound like all the big 10 backers out there.....how everybody in the conference beats up on each other, leaving no standout dominant teams, even though I'd put our teams up against comparable teams from other conferences (meaning that if kansas state is considered middle of the pack this year, I'd bet they'd do well against Minnesota or Purdue from the Big 10).
  15. While I am (pleasantly) surprised about Todd's inclusion on the team, I think the biggest surprise is that Shanle got on there. I dont know if it's a reward for being a senior or what, but wow is he horrible.
  16. I dont know what the husker coaches do, but at my school (albeit it's DIII) the coaches figured for the most part we learned how to do that in high school. We would still do tackling circuts once a week, but it worked more on form, not open field situations and stuff like that. I guess someone from the Huskers would have to enlighten us as to what they work on.
  17. Yeah I like him too I like Nessler cause he makes it seem like your playing NCAA Football 2007 on a PS2. That said, I'm thankful that Musberger isnt announcing because he's running out of Husker opponents he can drool over, particularly the opposing QBs.....I thought he was going to ask Colt McCoy to marry him...
