  1. Ye have little faith, why not have this thread start right now, so it can keep going towards January?
  2. This is going to sound crazy, but who believes that with enough luck Nebraska could run the table to a CFP playoff berth? Obviously a lot of guys need to get healthy, a few bounces of the game have to go our way, etc. Sports have had parity lately, not saying that Nebraska is anywhere close to as talented as Alabama is right now, but hey, crazier things have happened. Wisconsin has 2 losses in conference, the next game is pretty much a play-in game to the Big Ten title game, and now that Ohio State might not go since Michigan is now in position for a title game berth. If Nebraska slips up to either Wisconsin or Ohio State, but wins one of them, then its automatic berth in the title game, obviously it would be more fortunate to lose to Ohio State so Nebraska holds the tiebreaker over Wisconsin. But even with a loss, and a win over either a 1-loss Ohio State or undefeated Michigan would be easily enough for a playoff berth. Would have to be 12-1 or 13-0 after the B1G title game to get in. Then it would be nice to get matched up with the opposite side of Alabama, cause of course they are going with how ridiculous they have been all year, defending CFP champions. But Ohio State beat them in 2014 in the semifinal, so doesn't really matter where you see Bama, you're gonna see them either way. But of course this is most likely a pipe dream, but in the event of a CFP berth, how do we know this won't be another 2001, where they had good wins but not a signature win against an elite opponent, I would compare this years Alabama close to 2001 Miami, which is arguably the most talented team of all time, not the best TEAM of all time, which obviously goes to the '95 Huskers. So what could happen?
  3. I think I heard enough about Indiana D-Coordinator Tom Allen for the rest of my life.
  4. Game kicking off now, good thing for Watch ESPN online
  5. Can't we all just get alone i mean cmon now cmon
  6. I agree with their right to express themselves. That doesn't mean it's not classless, tasteless, and overall unbecoming of a representative of the taxpayer-funded University if Nebraska. You are way overreacting, its a simple peaceful protest which has happened multiple times throughout history, so whats the big f'ing deal? UNL should support their right to express their views if anything, if they were an overreaching University they would force them to stop. Simply let the players stand up for what they believe in, any resistance is a totalitarian movement that will reduce productivity and make the players become less loyal to the University they support. UNL should support their right to express their opinion. Like I said, you don't have to agree with it, just understand their right to voice their opinion. Their opinion is just as valid as anyone elses. I'm not "way overreacting". Overreacting would be asking for their expulsion. I'm saying they're classless and tasteless because they're intentionally showing a lack of respect for the symbol of our country and all who've sacrificed for it; which, incidentally, has nothing to do with what they're protesting. Everyone who has ever said they're disrespecting people who have sacrificed for the country is claiming they can read people's minds. Unless these players come out and say they don't give a sh#t about how they were protected during wars, then that's just a big giant guess on your part. If you're specifically talking about the lyrics of the song, why should someone who is fighting against systematic racism care all that much about sacrifices made by our soldiers during a time when slavery was legal? Respect for the flag is something that is ingrained in the minds of all members of the military. It means respect for the people who made the flag possible, so it's easy to infer that disrespect for the flag is disrespect for the people who made the flag possible. As for people fighting against perceived systemic racism, maybe they should care about the sacrifices of those soldiers because many of their progeny paid with their lives to end slavery. Might be something worthy of respect. It's just plain silly to think anyone's doing this to specifically diss soldiers or soldiers who died for the country. Especially when lots made it clear what they're specifically doing it for. To me the flag represents the country. It doesn't represent soldiers. I wasn't in the military but my dad fought in Vietnam and my grandpa was also in the Navy. The country has sent soldiers to die for unjust causes before. It's kind of similar to being against the Iraq/Vietnam wars but not against the soldiers who fought in them. The people doing this are against systematic racism which is something they think our country is allowing. It has nothing to do with soldiers fighting for the country. Exactly, it was not done to disparage any former military, it was just to protest a certain aspect of American culture. Get real, Husker nation
  7. Everybody realize that those Husker players kneeling had the exact effect on people who they wanted to make more aware, crazy how peaceful protest works
  8. Basically Riley supported it, good for him, way to build team unity

So we should just blindly believe what our country has given us, cause they are insusceptible of criticism because they are the USA, which is the "greatest" country in the world, who shouldn't be criticized? That's complete bullsh#t, our country is fundamentally flawed, which is why we have this election with f'ing Hilary vs. Trump, the worst election ever, there is really no good choice. So democracy has failed most obviously, and some want to express their views on police brutality. Maybe just hear them out and understand that many in our community, including athletes, have opinions that may be against what many believe, but they are valid opinions nonetheless. This reaction is EXACTLY what they are trying to induce, to a f'ing T. You are all taking the bait just as the media would want. Just realize that.
  10. Everyone against the protest is just taking the bait from the media and getting outraged........obviously their "protest" is effective if it is outraging people, don't you realize what they're trying to do. Just try to listen and understand, its really all they are asking from society
  11. f'ing husker fans get a little more progressive for fu#*$ sake

  13. Anyone ever heard of the 1st amendment people......they are being way more American than all those here who are condemning their actions for being "Unamerican", you are all hypocrites, let them have their voice heard. You don't have to agree with their platform but at least agree with their right to express themselves, otherwise you may as well just be in communist China
  14. Ok take a look here, this proves me wrong and the call was right http://bloximages.chicago2.vip.townnews.com/journalstar.com/content/tncms/assets/v3/editorial/1/30/13031f67-1a6d-524c-81e2-9a946b5d210e/57dde22c7a0b4.image.jpg?resize=1200%2C806
  15. Kinda looked like the last 2 point conversion try was good for Oregon, the QB raced to the pylon and ended up hitting it, I guess they said he was already down, if he had just reached the ball out they would have had it, not like they would have won anyway, since it would've brought them to 34 points instead of 32. I still think he got jipped a bit but I'll take it
  16. If they go 5-2 and end up 7-5 I'll be pleasantly surprised.
  17. You can beat the crap out of someone and still become captain of the Nebraska football team, which is one of the biggest representatives of the state. How does this reflect on the condition of our football program and university? I think he should have his title of captain taken and benched immediately, he is a liability and a hot head, and to be honest not that good of an offensive lineman. This is his last year ever playing football anyway, no pro teams are going to want to take this clown
  18. I've had enough. Fire Bo at the end of the year. We all know Minnesota is gonna run all over us and Iowa is no free win either.
  19. Big stop on 3rd down there. Now time for Beck to get out of his own way here. And hopefully or O-Lineman will stay upright from now on.
  20. I believe it is the biggest game of the Pelini era. He has been waiting to show us that we do have a team stocked full of talent that can compete with anyone. But can Bo get the team to reduce the mental mistskes?
  21. I wouldn't call our crowd raucous. It will be Saturday night. Memorial Stadium gets very loud for games like this. I can already hear the blue-hairs telling people in front of them to sit down......
  22. Lol lets just quit the bitching about Martinez forever. He was talented but he just wasn't that great of a passer. Hopefully things work out for him in life.
