  1. Completely agree. My seats are amongst the bluehairs in the West Stadium; and even there, no one sat down before halftime.
  2. Or better yet - have the marching band do a B10 formation at half time. The band needs to learn Dylan's "Positively Fourth Street". It could replace "Hey Baby" as the sing-along song for every conference home game this year. The last three stanzas alone nicely summate Harvey and Dr. Tom's message to the Big XII at the Regents' meeting: "And now I know you’re dissatisfied With your position and your place Don’t you understand It’s not my problem" "I wish that for just one time You could stand inside my shoes And just for that one moment I could be you" "Yes, I wish that for just one time You could stand inside my shoes You’d know what a drag it is To see you" Meh, I can only find a cover. It hardly does the original justice, but it gets the point across:
  3. freakin 8, count em' 8, turnovers. Every time I think of that game I do this ---> Well, on the bright side, the season could have come off the rails at that point. Back-to-back home loses followed by a tricky match-up at Baylor, than Oklahoma. Bo & co. did a great job moving forward, keeping the team focused and positive. And they never did that moronic walk-out-of-the-tunnel-arm-in-arm TunnelWalk business again. Good call there.
  4. Mr. Hansen, your article is much more boring than the Huskers. edit: whoops, put myself in the quote. Eh, not bad for an out of town write up. Criticizing TO's offenses as boring is old hat and profoundly misguided in my opinion. Of course, I grew up on the sh#t. I find slinging the ball around 40 times a game effeminate and uninspiring. I like PBS too.
  5. Looking at all that old, ugly astroturf makes my knees hurt.
  6. Why? So the Husker's defensive performance against Texas seems less impressive? So we can hear commentators say, "see, they don't play defense in the Big XII, teams in that conference would be lucky to score a single TD in the SEC." The overriding story coming out of the Big XII championship was not Nebraska's overwhelming defense; it was that suddenly Texas's offense became completely inept. That's bullsh#t. I hope Texas torches 'Bama, puts up 60 against them. It would demonstrate that NU's D is for real.
  7. Drink if a talking head says, "Big Mr. Suh" instead of Ndamukong (chug if they say Ndamakune Song ).
  8. That was ungenerous. I sympathize, but it was ungenerous all the same. I’ll be stewing about this game for a long time. And I look forward to the thrashing the Huskers will put on the ‘horns next year. But in the mean time if you can manage to knock the SEC down a peg or two, that would be awesome. I’ll be pulling for the ‘horns. Good luck!
  9. Riveting stuff. The interaction between the fiery Pelini’s and the marble giant, Dr. Tom is mesmerizing. Bo calling for “Coach” Osborne; TO, who would never have responded to a loss in that manner, but probably always wanted to, listening to Bo’s bluster; striding out the level-headed politician, IN A BLACK f'ing TRENCH COAT (are you kidding me!), to talk to league officials. Christ, great write-up by Barfknecht. I sometimes think Bo is over the top, but it’s who he is right now, and I won’t fault him for it. I love the relationship TO has established with the staff. His legend continues to grow.
  10. No doubt, the day after a bad loss? For f#*k's sake.
  11. Great read. I was high on RB from the start, but everything you hear and read, it just gets better. He will never fail to meet expectations, largely he will exceed them.
  12. Nice, a well remembered anniversery. I went to that game, my first in Texas. Reading that post in the weeks that followed provided a nice summation of what I gathered to be the average experience of the average Longhorn fan. God, that trip was a blast.
  13. That's a long day. Safe travels. GBR!
  14. Maybe the shoulder stripes make it stand out more.
  15. Well, as many times as our helmets were smashed up against their facemasks, you'd think it would be easy to find a comparison shot. I'm on the case.... Yeah, in some pics they look cream, in others white. Watching the broadcast I thought they really looked cream. In comparison to photos from other games, I thought they looked cream.
  16. Forgive me if this has been mentioned, but what color were the helmets last Saturday? They looked cream as opposed to white. They seem to match the cream shoulder stripes that appeared a few weeks ago, as opposed to the numbering that is still white. Comparing pics from last saturday and previous games, there seems to be a difference, but it could be lighting, angles, and the like. Did I miss the boat? Was there some announcement that they were trading the white for cream...gradually? Are they doing it covertly? If so why? Was there a second shooter on the grassy knoll? What's saskwatch's take on all this?
  17. Yep, you're right it was an important win, more importantly though - you're staying positive!
  18. I would give a Bad to Jacob Hickman for several wonky snaps. They didn't amount to much, but you don't expect those mistakes from a senior with his reputation. A big Good to defense and coverage teams that seemed to play with more fire than we've seen from them this year.
  19. A program signed by the stars of the scoring explosion - Rozier, Gill, Fryer, Steinkuhler, and a few others. I got to meet them during halftime at a charity basketball event. For me, a tiny tike at the time, it was like meeting the gods.
  20. # 60 The Man, The Myth, The Legend - Tom "Train Wreck" Novak
  21. A pair of fullback dives toward the end of the 1995 Orange Bowl!
  22. That happened in the first two games as well. NMS was just the first team to snap it while we were running on the field. Pelini has said in interviews that the 40 sec time clock is as much an issue on the defensive side as the offensive.
  23. 1st - Something in '84, Okie St. maybe. I remember Florida St. and Colorado in '85 w/ clarity, but am pretty sure I was at a game or two before that. I was young. Best moment - The tunnel walk for the Rice game in '01, the 9/11 tribute. Storming the field after the last Big VIII game (after dismantling OU) was cool too. Best game - Colorado in '94, The Buffs favored by a field goal, Frazier's out w/ bloodclots - the defense OWNS the day! I hadn't felt electricity like that in Memorial Stadium before or since.
  24. Why is Doak Walker (37) wearing an '08 Oregon uniform?
