  1. What is the alternative for the Rams???? My whole point is that this could be a very good move for them to stop the bleeding, somewhat, and give them time to develop a franchise QB behind McNabb while adding more pieces in the coming years.
  2. From what I remember the analysts saying during a game, Fisher is on a mandated "diet" where he has to consume ungodly amounts of calories to put weight on....and he still can't keep the weight on! Time to bring in Michael Phelps to show this boy how to eat!!!
  3. HAHAHAHA, that is an absurd statement.... McNabb is definitely a quality QB and an obvious Top 8-10 Passers in the NFL...he has 2 or 3 good years left and would give the Rams time to develop a guy they draft this year in the 2nd Round or later even. I don't like Colt McCoy very much as an NFL QB, but he may serve their needs well, 3rd Round or later QB, that is knowledgable and has proven to be a winner. Give someone like him some time to sit and learn the NFL game, like Aaron Rodgers did, and I think McNabb could be a huge asset. Besides, which QB on the market or in the draft would improve a team as much as McNabb could??? I think this is an absurd statement. WHY IN HELL would you want to trade a #1 DRAFT PICK and potential FRANCHISE PLAYER for 10+ YEARS for a QB that is on the decline and may, MAY be able to win you a couple more games? That's dumb. I don't think getting a proven QB and trading down in the 1st round is absurd at all...plus you are going to get more picks for him later in the draft too... This is one of those deals that will never happen because the value of a player like McNabb is so different from person to person. As I posted above, I would only do it if it involved swapping 1st round picks and adding a pick or two later in the draft....

  5. Please NO! As a Packers fan, I am praying Suh doesn't land in the NFC North...there is no way I would be able to cheer for him....I wouldn't mind trading our entire draft and AJ Hawk for him though....hahahaha
  6. WOW, for a fan base that is known as very knowledgeable I am surprised at so many people down on McNabb and the thought the Rams couldn't get waaaayyyy better pretty quick with this deal. Rams have more holes than arguably any team in the NFL and definitely need to pursue a QB. If I were them, I would take McNabb and the Eagles 1st round pick (24th) and maybe another late round pick. Then I would trade back just about every pick from there on and try to pick up an extra draft pick. Imagine if they got McNabb, Bryan Bulaga (OT, Iowa) or Mike Iupati (OT, Idaho) at end of first round, then Sean Witherspoon (OLB, Mizzou) or Brandon Spikes (LB, Florida) in 2nd, then LaMarr Houston (DT, Texas) or Marty Gilyard (WR/KR, Cincy).... Give the Eagles #1 Overall and then swap 4th and/or 5th round picks. If I were a Rams fan, I would be geeked at the idea of improving that much in one draft, not to mention FA acquistions....
  7. 1 - Wifey and me in Miami, day after T Nunn's butter fingers incident... 2 - Brother, Sterling and Me, throwing bones and "3 and out" after OU victory 3 - Wife and I at Cotton Bowl 4 - Wife and I getting ready to tear Austin apart after OU game 5 - Brother, Father-in-law and me in LA untitled.bmp untitled2.bmp untitled3.bmp untitled4.bmp
  8. My brother and I will definitely be making the trip up...already booked the flights! Nice straight shot from Austin to Seattle...hoping to catch King Felix on the bump Friday night!!! Also thinking about doing the Seattle Underground Tour...any other suggestions???
  9. For all you guys complaining about our current scheduling model, one big time game and 3 powder puffs, what is there to gain by playing 2 or 3 "tough" non-conference games, with one or two on the road? I just want to see what people have to say, I'm not saying that in an ideal world I wouldn't love for our schedule to be USC, ND, Florida, TCU, then Texas and OU both in the Big XII...I'm just curious to see what other people think... And on the flip side, what would you say if we played that schedule above and ended up 9-3....What is there to gain?
  10. Let's all get over the Iowa deal...they will NOT play 2 Big XII teams each year or any year for that matter. Also, playing a Minnesota is not beneficial for the Huskers. We would have to pay more or have a Home-Away deal...NO THANKS I would like to see us schedule at least one team a year that almost guarantees a national TV audience, ie USC, Va Tech, Tennessee, etc... One thing I think that puts us behind the eight ball in recruiting lately, is playing on PPV, 3 out of the first 4. Don't get me wrong, I do like the fact that PPV games give us direct revenue that is not split with the rest of the conference but it does limit our audiences. If we are going to play 3 of 4 games on PPV, we MUST schedule a big dog to ensure a national audience!!!
  11. I think Kinnie made the most progress this year and should be our go-to guy if he continues to improve. I like his size and physicality without the ball. After him, I think Paul is obviously the most proven, but is too inconsistent to be a true threat in the Big XII. I like the size of our WR corp and hope to see some of the speed guys learn the O and get on the field to make plays...
  12. The guys who know around Austin are saying he's not going anywhere. Supposedly, Mack has given him full control over recruiting and a few other things to indicate Mack maybe stepping down sooner rather than later.... Just what I'm hearing down here. IMO, if he only has to wait 2 or 3 more years here at Texas, stay and wait for the job, otherwise take the Tennessee job...
  13. My thought on the whole thing is the NCAA should put a moratorium on TV contracts as the current ones expire and begin to "standardize" college football. For example, take the 120 current FBS teams and put them into 10 12-team conferences. Have each conference play 8 conference games and a CCG and then have 4 non-conference games. The 10 conference champs and 6 "at-large" teams will each get into the tourney. Put an emphasis on non-conference strenght of schedule/victories and watch the big schools line up to play each other!!! The bowl system will continue and thrive. There are currently 34 bowl games. 15 bowl games will be used in the tourney and you could set up 24 or so bowl games. 3 a day for 8 days and you have "Capital One Bowl Week" with those games played before the first weekend of the tourney. The money could be divided evenly for the first round games, and then conferences and schools advancing would receive the bulk of funds going forward. Imagine Round 1 Matchups like... #1 SEC Champ - Alabama vs. #16 At-Large - Wisconsin #2 Big XII Champ - Texas vs. #15 At-Large - Pittsburgh #3 At-Large - Florida vs. #14 At-Large - Nebraska #4 WAC Champ - Boise St vs. #13 ACC Champ - Georgia Tech #5 Big 10 Champ - Ohio St vs. #12 At-Large - BYU #6 MWC Champ - TCU vs. #11 At-Large - Oregon #7 At-Large - Iowa vs. #10 At-Large - Va Tech #8 At-Large - Penn St. vs. #9 Big East Champ - Cincinnati Assuming my picks are correct, here is Quarter Finals... #1 Alabama vs. #8 Penn St. - Sugar Bowl #2 Texas vs. #7 Iowa - Cotton Bowl #14 Nebraska vs. #11 Oregon - Holiday Bowl #4 Boise St. vs. #5 Ohio St. - Alamo Bowl Then come the Semi-Finals... #1 Alabama vs. #5 Ohio St. - Orange Bowl #2 Texas vs. #14 Nebraska - Fiesta Bowl NATIONAL TITLE GAME.... #1 Alabama vs. #14 Nebraska - Rose Bowl Bowl Tie-ins would be biggest bowl, closest to higher seed...or schools with tie-ins (ie Big XII - Fiesta)
  14. I bet Dillard gets picked on the first day. Dillard will have to have a huge showing to be a first day guy. He is listed as a the 15 - 20th ILB available. Not to be an ass...but he would have to be Superman at the combine to go first day... Remember, the format has been changed... 1st Round - Thursday Night 2nd-3rd Rounds - Friday Night 4th-7th - Saturday
  15. I would like one with Brandon Kinnie and Rex Burkheard please. I need to change my lame ass screen name also...and add a bad broad in the lil avatar deal...any suggestions??? And I will be in Seattle and Lincoln for the Texas game next year to pay off my debts for helping create this fine works of art....
  16. I'm not in the business of flaming fellow Huskers fans, BUT please spare me the "If Colt plays, they win" crap... Bama had 2, 100 yd rushers tonight...would Colt have stopped them? Also, whose to say Bama doesn't stay on the throttle offensively and not be so predictable with dive left, dive right... Fact is, if this game were played 99 more times, no one knows what would've happened...
  17. Texas fans weren't bitching when Bradford got hurt....BUT I expect nothing less than bags full of excuses for the loss tonight! (Also, for any doubters, Gilbert is the real deal! And even he looked like shat at times...give Cody time to develop, it will come!!!!)
  18. Actually, I thought quite the opposite about Saban... Check the box score and you will see why he ran at the end...Richardson broke the 100 yd mark with the last drive and was rewarded with a TD as well. I love coaches that reward the workhorse!!! Texas still has not allowed a 100 yd rusher, BUT they have one game where they allowed 2 of them...hahaha
  19. Please try living in Austin and then tell me you'd still cheer for Texas.... ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!! I really don't care how the Big XII finishes in bowl games, as long as the Huskers take care of business.
  20. Without trying to turn this into a pissing match, I'd like to discuss my major issues with Wats. First off, the OC's job is to put together an offense that the HC wants to implement. It was obvious that Bo gave Wats plenty of opportunities to do "his thing". When Wats proved that he couldn't manage that, Bo tightened the reins, hence the change to overwhelming high amount of run plays. It wasn't his willingness to change, it was his fear of unemployment that caused the changes. All coaches have huge egos and don't want to sink running someone else's idea of an offense. Secondly, as the OC, you are the CEO, if you will, of the offense. You oversee everything that goes on in the organization. I know injuries can really derail a season, but to compare our injuries to that of OU's is ridiculous. Hell, Va Tech lost a Freshman All-American and replaced him with another. My point is, Wats has control over who we recruit and who we bring in and also has the responsibility of getting said players ready for the games. If he can not handle that, he needs to find a new profession. And it's not like the players lost were All-Americans or even All-Big XII caliber. Third, if the injury to Lee was a hinderance, than why not use CG or Helu or any other number of guys to play Burkhead's role in the "Wildcat" formation. Don't feed me lines about a hurt QB and then hope I don't remember us taking shots downfield on a regular occassion to deflect my doubts about your ability to coach. There is no excuse for being creative and finding ways to get the best athletes on the field. Lastly, I will not go into details on play-calling and what not, but I would like to point out that stats do a better job of telling the truth than human perception. And 102 nationally is PATHETIC.... With that said, if he is retained, I hope he uses 95% of his upcoming 100 hour work weeks to perfect "his" offense and quit living off "his" stats under Callahan....
  21. We also lose at least half our O line. I'm not sure if that's a positive or a negative right now. If the hype surrounding GG is at least 30% true, QB won't be our weak link. Should be a fun game in Lincoln. Living in Austin and seeing Gilbert first hand, I can promise you, QB will not be an issue next year...BUT the O-line protecting him will be... Also folks, let's not get too carried away and overlook UW with Jake Locker at the helm. I am booking my trip to Seattle now! I honestly feel that will be a Top 10 matchup and GameDay will be in attendance!!!
  22. Let's not get too carried away...after all, it did take him 13 games before he realized what he had....
  23. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4776848 Leach has been suspended for the Alamo Bowl...looks like Valero is no longer the title sponsor... HOTCHKIS SPORTS SUSPENSION ALAMO BOWL....
  24. Please start watching games that don't include the Chargers or Huskers...it will definitely help lighten up the rose-colored goggles you are currently watching games through...
