  1. You're both drawing conclusions based on second or third hand information. What's the actual proposal?
  2. Has anyone actually found what the proposal actually says? Seems like there are a lot of misleading or down right lies about this. I've looked around and all I can find is references to a 25% tax on unrealized captial gains for those with more than $100 million in wealth: If that's true, then it's not going affect anyone's house appreciating unless you've got a $100+ million mansion.
  3. Yeah, it's not like both of those have already happened in American history, so they surely don't make sense.
  4. With all the tampering going on, he probably already knows what he will get elsewhere. Might just be leaving for more money.
  5. For-profit prisons don't help either.
  6. Casey Thompson got hurt, so it's happened even with a QB that didn't run. (I think Tanner Lee also got hurt but not sure on that one). OL play was getting better last year, so hopefully that helps, but I just don't think the starting QB makes it through the whole season without us needing the backup for some games - and maybe the 3rd string as well.
  7. I'm totally fine with the off season koolaid and optimism. I just think HH still has a large part to play this season.
  8. I appreciate the perspective and don't disagree. But regardless who starts, I doubt they'll make it the whole season. It'd be awesome if they stayed healthy, but we've had 3 starting QB's for at least the last 5 seasons, maybe longer.
  9. Maybe I can best sum up my point by saying: everyone has a plan until you get hit in the mouth. Everything you're saying is theoretical until we play some decent teams. DR might look fantastic right now and then fall apart in game situations (aka Jeff Sims). Or he gets hurt and it's next man up. There's so many variables in football, it's impossible to predict.
  10. I really mean the QB run game more than the option specifically. I hope it works out, but I have my doubts against B1G defenses. If we're running those screens and RPOs but getting <3 yards as has been typically for a long time now, that's just not going to get it done. Look, I'm predicting 9 wins this year, so I'm as big a homer as anyone here. I'm just not completely sold yet on a true frosh QB as a pocket passer with the pieces we have around him, especially the OL. I think HH has an important role to play this season still, and as I said, that's not a popular opinion right now.
  11. No. He's certainly the favorite according to fans and the media. Remains to be seen if the rest of the team is good enough for DR to succeed without the threat of the QB run and option. Can the OL protect and the receivers get open against B1G defenses?
  12. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I wouldn't be surprised if HH is the starter game 1.
  13. Thanks for the updates for those of us that can't watch.
  14. Almost certainly true. But having just been laid off, I couldn't take the chance on the legal costs.
  15. Yep. CU has neither the money nor the desire to fire Deion. He did what they needed most - sold enough tickets to get the athletic dept out of the red. Winning is and was a distant second to that.
  16. I was laid-off and the non-compete was still in effect. I ended up changing industries due to it.
  17. I get what you're saying, but my point is that regardless of whether the official NCAA count has a guy on scholarship or not, we can still add scholarship guys to the roster using NIL money. It makes the distinction between scholarship and walk-on far less meaningful to the point where I'm not sure we as fans can make any meaningful distinction since we don't knowing what those players total compensation is.
  18. Not sure I agree with that assumption. I think we have plenty of money to cover tuition for a bunch of guys.
  19. Does it matter whether he's on scholarship or not these days? The scholarships and NIL money can be shuffled around to make pretty much anything work now.
