  1. all of your “negative” points are why I actually go to games. Except beer sales. They need to sell beer. I’ve brought many friends of opposing teams to games over the years and they have, to a tee, loved their experience in Memorial. I wouldn’t change one thing except beer sales and maybe less bulls#!t on the big screens/speakers during games. we are there to cram in, cheer loud, stand up, have fun, get rowdy and rock those f’ing foundations. Go home if you don’t want to do that.
  2. If our O-line can give AM a little time, that will be the only thing that matters. same in the running game. this whole season hinges on the O-line and turnovers.
  3. and it matters even more when kids know potentially, if they tweet on game day they could earn a lot money. It’s gross but it’s the new norm. The sellout streak (and fan base interest) might mean more now than ever edit it might be a drought on conference/national champs…but the whole 21st century hasn’t sucked all the balls of the world. We have won apprx 168 games this century. The last 5 seasons are absolute duds and crap, but it’s not like we been 4-8 or 7-5 for 20 whole yrs. There were some great teams, players, and games that have won here since 2000. it’s possible to win here, and Frost can do it.
  4. They have 10 players from 10 different teams. Clickbait Let’s just hope he can get it done through the air instead of through pages of a magazine or a tweet thread
  5. Don’t want a guy who refers to himself in 1st person.
  6. Is he juco? That film has crazy players if high school lol he has a mean streak, just needs to get lower. Could fit our offense very well pulling for screens and getting to 2nd level
  7. Exactly. I’m not happy w the W/L record so far but I am happy Frost is the coach. He should get 5 full yrs, maybe 6 considering the BS covid lockdown year. Can’t wait for all the cheering this year when N starts winning
  8. Give him 5 yrs to right the ship or it’s nonsense chatter. I’m down for that. Why change now? Let’s see what he can do. First game ever lightning, 3rd yr Covid, attrition (which is good imo, rats leave first), over 50% flip roster in 2 yrs, now has his horses… I think Frost was a young gun and shot from the hip, that’s cool if not foolish. But now he’s establishing a solid core, shows growth. If not him, who? If not his guys, when? This year and next will tell the tale. I’m down for that. I think we gives him as much time as needed, he’ll do it. Don’t be impatient
  9. Uhhh, yeah. They’re 18 when they get to school. Idiots, most of them, just like was when I was 18. Apart from their fam, and friends for the first time. They were the best athletes in their school/town, showered w attention and making a dumbass video of committing after a full recruiting process. Then humble pie when they get there and realize there’s already 6 dudes just like them at their position. btw, they made a CHOICE to go to their college. Not forced. Now we letting kids 19ish just walk away from a 2-3 process of that recruitment. You think Frost or Harbaugh likes calling kids 2 time zones away at 9pm for 2 yrs only to have them walk after 6 months or 1.5 yrs of the coaches full commitment to them? Then see them go to a school for 4 days then transfer again? If a coach leaves for a better opportunity after 3-6 yrs at that school, he’s EARNED that right cuz he’s 40, and he’s a man. Giving kids the right to move on whenever they see fit is stupid and not helping them to grow and learn and earn life’s stripes. forced?? Lol. These kids have had plenty of options. And they execute that option on signing day. But yeah, go about that “business” and see 1,100 kids in a “portal” per year and maybe you’ll end up at 3 schools in 4 yrs with no degree, all the while b!^@hing they were forced or it was the coaches fault. making kids stick to something isn’t a real bad thing, if they made that CHOICE in the first place to sign. Go to JUCO if you think you can do better in 1-2 yrs.
  10. In football, as in life you have to earn your stripes. We are letting these kids down by allowing them to move so fast away. What a gift to give that you can move on as soon as you don’t “like” something? football is a business, even at the collegiate level. But it was also a sport that gave young men an opportunity to learn to be tough and earn something, like any position on the field after 2-3 yrs of being apart of something greater than your own damn self. The best players, generally, are Jrs and Sr, because it takes time. Seeing the whole Frost quote, he absolutely nailed it.
  11. https://www.nytimes.com/2014/09/09/sports/ncaafootball/penn-states-postseason-ban-is-lifted.html?0p19G=6214 I see that you are correct. let them off easy tho, with Senators and stuff
  12. Correct me if I’m wrong: didnt Penn St remove Paterno statue and then put it back? I guess accusations coming from the son of Bo, maybe this has more gravity for M? Penn St went through a s#!t storm and then was let off the hook a little early IMO. i hope this emboldens all people to come forward with true and honest stories to root this trash out of our youth/public/private institutions.
  13. Competition is good. As far as proven? He made 41-44 PATs and has a strong enough leg to sniff the spot of of the famous Henery57 in collegiate games. gotta keep getting the best players at each position, I like it.
  14. I read the couple pages. To me it’s: Martinez will be as good as the O-line is. That’s it...if we can block and snap he’ll be good. It’s all up front boys. Screw the advance stats, if we can block and give him and the RBs some time, sky’s the limit
  15. you could see the cracks forming v TCU
  16. And I’m sure Michigan felt the same. Until I read the part where Matt, his adopted son, claimed Bo punched him in the chest across the kitchen when informed of his molestation, they might not have believed it either. l know we have our public s#!t w scandals and allegations over 40-50 yrs, but I really hope we don’t have what a lot of the allegations that seem to be affecting these other B1G schools; namely that the Head Coach, AD, and Administration were informed/knew and did nothing.
  17. Just read on ESPN Bo Schembechler’s own adopted son Matt, went to his adopted father and told him he was molested at age 10 by the team physician. He is 62 now and is leading a charge to get to the bottom of this. There are now 900 former athletes who have attorney representation to pursue what might have been 30+ years of sexual misconduct by this man who passed away in 2008. I know Nebraska has had its share of suspended players, controversy, and headlines. No program is totally clean. But dear God, has there ever been any inkling of this type of behavior at DONU? Speak now, let us know. Does anyone in the last 30-40 yrs know of any players or otherwise having an experience of Sandusky or this total trash at Michigan happen to them? Couple it with the detestable s#!t at Michigan St, I hope for all of Husker Nation that no one allowed a pervert creep to stay in the program who took advantage like these men did; whilst the head men in charge did nothing. I get that “programs protect their own.” Kids make mistakes and should be offered a second chance. But this s#!t is disgusting. Consenting adults is one thing, but a person in a position where the young are offered to them and takes advantage of them cannot be tolerated. I hope and pray we never hear about this at N
  18. The Portal is a brown ballon knot.
  19. Mark was on my Shrine team in 95 he was a beast. During lifting sessions that week he was power cleaning like 290x8 or something. but watching Janak run is what reminds the most of him. Both can fly.
  20. Kinda reminds me of the best football player from that area Mark Simmoneau. Except Janak is 6’2 and Mark was like 5’9 and on steroids lol
  21. Marcus Mendoza was by all accounts the greatest Afleet of all time at Nebraska. That kid tested off the charts and I never understood why he didn’t get more play. He made some damn great plays and should’ve seen the field more, by his Afletic feats alone. unless...he couldn’t block, remember the playbook, hold on to the ball, was soft, or otherwise be reliable on game day. I’m glad we are seeing the numbers, but many of us won’t be happy w numbers until we see wins. however, guys testing well also means we could/should see more wins. chill and enjoy the numbers and wins.
  22. well, let’s hope our 5-6th guys that stuck around and see how they can help us win games by experience, playing time, and age being 21-23 yrs old v the 18-21 yr olds with limited experience on other teams. they came back for reason, I think they know they’re close to being pretty salty as Blackshirts and helping the Cornhuskers as a team get their goals and wins. I’m ready to see this “free” year play out and see how good we can be on D
  23. With the Portal and transfer rules the way they are now, college football and the programs therein will not look the same in less than 5-7 yrs. It’s already been seen the last 3-4 yrs that there are 4-5 top tier programs that get solid 4&5 star recruits every year who aren’t hurt by transfers and portals. They get the top portal and transfer players IN and aren’t hurt by their 2nd and 3rd team players going OUT. Case in point T’o T’o going to Alabama after losing their top LB to the draft. Those top teams make the Playoff every year and keep everyone else out. stack on top of that, Image and Likeness payments and it only exacerbates the growing problem. it absolutely is a scratch and claw system for every other team to keep players, build from within, have a magical season come together, keep good coaches from leaving, and have a patient fan base. Also: pay bigly for infrastructure upgrades, fan interest and excitement, build depth, have the administration on board, and show progress. I think the last paragraph suits us very well despite the challenges the portal and transfer rules bring every other team besides tOSU, Tide, Clemson, and OU. We will be in that top tier where this “hard to recruit but easy to get out” won’t affect us to much in the very near future.
