  1. Ralph Brown vs ANDRE JOHNSON????
  2. I didn't suddenly lose my eyesight during 2001, home boy. I know very well what that team was made of. They were VERY good, I'm not saying they weren't. But that 95 team was better. I have zero problem saying that. Look who that team played in 2001 - Nobody, Nobody, Nobody, Nobody, #14 FSU, Nobody, Nobody, Nobody, #14 Syracuse, #12 Washington, #14 VA Tech, then a pretender #4 Nebraska team on a tailspin. Despite playing a very weak schedule, they have... zero stellar wins. You're going to hang your hat on what? 38-0 over Temple? 61-0 over Rutgers? The MNC game, where they beat a disaster of a Husker team 37-14? Come on. That 2001 Miami team was full of future NFL players. We're talking COLLEGE football, though, not NFL. When you get down to it, the 95 Husker's resume is far, far better than 2001 Miami. And it's not even close. PS: Tommie Frazier >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Ken Dorsey for a change, I am going to agree with Knapplc. the 95 team defense would have Miami have fits, not to mention the Canes not being able to stop Frazier from running it down their throats!! Ever heard of some players named Ed Reed? Sean Taylor? Johnathon Vilma, DJ Williams, Vince Wilfork? The Huskers would not have been able to run at will on Miami, it would be a very tough night offensively for the big red
  3. Husker fans should be well aware of that 01 Miami team. Look up that roster and tell me with a straight face that a Tommie Frazier led Huskers team would compete with that team
  4. Kirk's nationally televised meltdown over the beat team off all-time was completely warranted. Husker fans can make an argument for the 95 team being there, but the 71 team had no business going that far in that little online voting tournament. I'll still say the last matchup should've been 01 Miami vs 95 Nebraska. And I'd take 01 Miami in that one.
  5. Clemson doubled and tripled Suh, and Ty Steinkhuler made them pay, ultimately making Clemson gameplan around Ty. That allowed Suh to go on a terror streak, and Suh's success this year will rely heavily on Jared Crick/Baker Steinkhuler's play next to him. We need another solid interior lineman next to Suh in order for him to continue his dominance from the last time we saw him on gamedays
  6. Pre-Castille Dismissal, 10-3, Cotton Bowl vs LSU Post-Castille Dismissal, 9-4, Holiday Bowl vs Oregon
  7. This really makes you wonder what was really going on behind the scenes during Billy C's tenure. Kevin Dixon, Cody Glenn, Major Culbert, and Quentin Castille were all heavily sought after recruits for Billy, only to be dismissed by Bo. It really makes no difference to Bo, if you f**k around, he'll show you the door. I loved that quote he made today, and this will create a better culture for this program in the long-haul. Like an earlier post said, we are already behind in the recruiting game, therefore we need players who will bust their ass at all times to play for this program. I'll take a 3-star underrated Roy Helu Jr coming out of high school who will work his ass off, and play by the rules over a 5-star Marlon Lucky who expected everything to be handed to him. It was Demetrious Harris from ESPN's series "Playmakers" that said, "When you're a Playmaker, the rules don't apply." Sadly for Dixon, Glenn, Culbert, and Castille, those rules still mean something to Bo. This hurts the 09, 10 Huskers, but remember in 07 when everyone got all excited after Quentin Castille debuted against Nevada? Scored a pair of touchdowns, and "ooohed and aaahhed" the crowd with a couple of nifty spin moves. I fully expect Rex Burkhead to have a similar effect come September fifth.
  8. Got my tickets today, oh yeah, and my Missouri vs Baylor tickets!
  9. I was really looking forward to the QB depth, and was hoping that we'd be able to RS both LaTravis and Cody. Now it seems that we'll only be able to RS Cody. Please stay healthy Zac...
  10. You tell me who has better WR option than Golden Tate and Michael Floyd? I might be a little biased though. I played against Floyd and current number one recruit Seantrell Henderson in 2007. I hate Cretin Derham Hall.
  11. But I thought the world was coming to an end and all the best recruits that were interested in the Huskers were dead and gone?
  12. I don't know about all that. While last years receivers were surprisingly better than expected, they had experience helping them. I'm sure this group of WRs has the potential to better, but I'm not going to be so quick to pencil in an improvement when they haven't proven much yet. Outside of Swift, and somewhat of Peterson....the WR core of 2008 didn't have much experience. There is no question that this year's WR core is much more talented.
  13. Talented maybe...but will that talent translate to a more productive season? I expect the Huskers offense to be similar to, if not better than the 2008 offense.
  14. Baylor beats Missouri
  15. Baylor will be 7-5 with losses to Wake Forest, Texas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State.
  16. Here's how I see the 2009 Big 12 shaking out.. Nebraska: 10-2...Losses: at Virginia Tech and Oklahoma Kansas: 8-4, losses: Oklahoma, at Texas Tech, Nebraska, at Texas Missouri: 7-5, losses: Nebraska, at Oklahoma State, Baylor, Texas, Kansas Colorado: 6-6 Losses: at West Virginia, at Texas, Kansas, Missouri, at OSU, Nebraska Iowa State and K-State will not be bowl eligible Oklahoma: 12-0, they will represent the South in the Big 12 Championship Texas: 11-1, Losses: Oklahoma Oklahoma State: 10-2 Losses: Texas, at Oklahoma Baylor: 7-5 Losses: at Wake Forest, at Oklahoma, OSU, Nebraska, Texas Texas Tech: 7-5 Losses: at Texas, at Nebraska, at OSU, Oklahoma, Baylor Texas A&M will not be bowl eligible, Sherman gets fired, and Aggie nation cries for Texas defensive coordinator for Head Coach. I really do believe that if this Husker team plays with the mindset that Pelini has instilled into this team, they will finish the regular season with the only two losses to Virginia Tech and Oklahoma. Big 12 Championship game: Oklahoma defeats Nebraska Cotton Bowl: LSU defeats Nebraska National Title game: Oklahoma defeats Florida Our Huskers finish the year at 10-4 while losing to Virginia Tech, Oklahoma (twice), and LSU Agree?
  17. The offense will not skip a beat. This offense will be more talented than last year's.
  18. Of the conferences that ESPN put together, I think this is the toughest one. (I might be a little biased.) Honestly, we would be in the bottom half of this conference. If this were the conference for the 2009 season, this is where I'd rank em... 1.) Oklahoma 2.) Texas 3.) LSU 4.) Oklahoma State 5.) Mississippi 6.) Nebraska 7.) Arkansas 8.) Kansas 9.) Missouri 10.) Texas A&M Would you agree?
  19. Iowa, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Penn State, Boise State, and TCU are all overrated. Other than the above mentioned, this poll looks about right to me. (I'd put Oklahoma at number 2 instead of Texas.)
  20. Am I the only one here that is actually excited about this year's WR's? I've said before on this board that I respect Nate Swift and everything he did for this program, but the WR's this year should be an IMPROVEMENT from 2008. This year's WR's have speed, not enough in my opinion, but they are considerably faster than the 2008 group of WR's. We have multiple deep threats in Antonio Bell, Currenski Gilleyen, and if he pans out, Marcus Mendoza. You could even throw Niles Paul into that mix, as Roy Helu was quoted as saying that Niles Paul was "clearly the Huskers best receiver on the team". This quote surprised me as Meno Holt played a vital role in the passing game last season, while Niles Paul wasn't used for much more than providing stout blocking. Heading into 2008, everyone was pointing to the WR's as an offensive weakness, and Swift and Peterson really stepped up. They were great for us, but both of them didn't have the athletic ability as these groups of WR's. I expect Paul, Holt, Chris Brooks, Brandon Kinnie, and Bell to emerge as the top WR's, and I also expect Watson to incorporate Mendoza's and Gilleyen's speed for some packages. Antonio Bell will return our punts, and will do a damn good job at it. Zac Lee will have plenty of offensive weapons at his disposal this season. I expect this offense to put up similar numbers, if not better than, 2008's offense. Did I mention Roy Helu and Quentin Castille as the best RB tandem in the Big 12? (that don't play in Norman)
  21. WOW! I don't know why you would be up on the stump calling Mack Brown the most overrated coach in college football! He is the best CEO this country has right now... As much as I hate the Longhorns, this is one of the lamest things I hear from Texas haters...this guy wins 10 games a year and he is overrated???? I don't get the logic... And then to add in that you can't wait until Muschamp takes over...when is the last time a hand pick successor has gone on to replace a legend....??? Muschamp is 10 times the hot head Bo ever was and he will always be too involved with the D at Texas to be truly successful. Mack gets it right...he hugs moms when he meets them, he pays and recruits the best assistant's and let's them do their jobs...coach'em up!!! Again, I hate Texas more than anyone on here...but let's be realistic I find it hard to glorify a coach who does so little with so much. Not that 10 win seasons isn't a good season, but Texas is more talented than any other team year in, year out (yes, more talented than USC). But Mack Brown's ultimate string of success is because Vince Young simply carried that team. The best thing Mack Brown has done for Texas was bring in Muschamp, and ultimately name his as the successor. Muschamp will have this defense rollin' this season, and they'll have to be if they want to beat Oklahoma in the Shootout.
  22. Anderson Silva is not losing to Forest Griffin.
  23. I think the woodshed is calling...
