  1. Callahans big recruiting speal is "I can get you to the NFL". I wonder how many of these kids NFL dreams have actually been destroyed because of poor coaching? Callahan does nothing to coach these kids up, i dont care if your a 15 star recruit out of high school, there still needs to be some teaching going on. There are numerous big time players on this team who would be doing better under a different coach. I would bet Octavien could be and All-american under Bo Pelini.
  2. No more NFL coaches...please!?!? Petrino........an NFL coach. I thought this was his first year in the pros??? Didnt he coach at Louisville??
  3. If Leavitt leaves USF for here, dont plan on another florida player ever coming to the state of Nebraska. He would be demonized. I just dont see Leavitt leaving USF after building that program up and having his first year of real success, why wouldnt he stay and ride the wave. It would be dumb for him to leave that place even for a bunch of money. He is revered at USF, if he comes here and struggles, we will chew him up and spit him out within 3 or 4 years. Getting a good coach to come here is going to be very difficult because of the expectations.
  4. I hope some sort of announcement is made today, so new topics can be added. I hope not because i enjoy
  5. If i were a coach, I would work on the defense and their tackling. Everytime i see one of these pansies try and arm tackle or hit someone above the waist they owe me 50 push ups. I dont care about the big hit and all this flashy crap, all i care about is the offense not getting one more yard. Its funny the radio announcers were saying it takes 3 guys to take down the J-train..................NO IT DOESNT.....it takes one person that knows how to tackle. If someones ankles or legs are wrapped together, they arent going anywhere. I am 5'8" 170 and i could bring down the J-train by simply wrapping up his legs, sure i would get run over but he isnt getting any farther than me after his ankles are tied together. BAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I AM MAD AND I CANT TAKE THIS ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. I dont see them improving. As far as TO at practice and possibly firing these guys up, the only players who have any idea who TO is are the in-state guys. To the rest of the guys, TO is just some old guy. I hope i'm wrong, but since i am omnipotent that wouldnt be possible.
  7. My dad is a big Iowa fan, my wife is ISU fan and my mom is an ISU/Duke/UNC/NU/Iowa/Kansas. My brother is the only sane one who i have groomed into a NU fanatic. Its fun, my dad cant say anything to me because all i have to do is bring up the Crouch run agianst iowa. My mom doesn't really understand football, she is more of a basketball fan. My wife and her family try to give me a hard time but then i remind them they are ISUcks fans. It has taken my wife 6 yrs to finally come to a remote understanding of what NU football means. She went to her first game at Memorial stadium this year and when TO was anounced AD a tear came to my eye and those two events have opened her eyes slightly. Its a long road but eventually i plan to make her a convert.
  8. No way we win. Our team motto is "When the going gets tough, the tough just quit".
  9. TO didnt show alot of emotion, but he didnt have to. He commanded the respect of his players, who in turn would do anything he asked of them. I like to compare his calm, cool, collectivness to the calming before a storm. He new his team was better, his team new they were better and that confidence showed on the field. TO was a once in a lifetime coach, and i am creaming my pants now that he is our AD.
  10. Cally never denied the fact he called TO a "crusty old F", so that is enough for me to jump off the Cally bandwagon. I could care less what he thinks of me as a fan, but when you spew blasphomy at TO, that is when i take exception. Its amazing how fast the fans turned on Cally. I think for the most part about 3 weeks ago we could deal with him as long as the defensive coaches would be gone. Now that all of this info has come out about what he really thinks of TO and the program, I am making it my personal mission to make his life a living hell so he quits and we dont have to pay out his contract!
  11. About God Damn Time!!! I would love to ask SP what the hell is so hard about welcoming past players with open arms. They are what built this thing, and all he wanted to do is kick them out into the street. SP was a joke, finally we are coming back around. I already see a night and day difference in the attitude at the AD office, hopefully this trickles down. I believe everthing TO says, except that he is NOT a miracle worker and he CANT change this thing over night. I will take exception to that TO, because if anyone can turn this around in a week, it's you. Thank you Lord for TO.
  12. I dont see anyway Cally can survive this, even if he does i see him quitting. But if TO decides it's NU best interest to give Cally another chance I will be fine with it. TO obviously is closer to the program than any of us and knows 100x more about the program than us, so i will follow his lead. If TO tells you to jump, ask How high? If TO tells you to eat glass, ask How much? If TO tells you to follow him into the depths of a burning inferno, just look straight ahead and follow.
  13. If this is true, how could the coaches not see it. If the coaches had any stones at all they would have taken care of this. Its not very difficult to take care of a cancer in the locker room. You make an example out of him, otherwise players will turn on you.
  14. Anyone think Norm Chow could be on a list of coaches to contact. He has been an assistant at the collegiat level for 32 years and is now with the Titans. He was with USC as the OC for 4 yrs before the jump to the NFL. Just thought he could be another name to add to the list.
  15. I think an in house guy is the way to go. Nebraska is a very unique situation. We want to win, but we want to win a certain way. The only people who seem to understand the way are guys from the family. Callahan took almost every single one of our traditions lit them on fire them pissed on the ashes. Now he is paying the price for not listening to what TO told him was important to the program and how to be successful at NU when he first got here. We gave an out of house guy a chance, we listened to all of the nay sayers and scratched a way of doing things that worked for 42 years. Look where it got us. We basically jumped off a bridge because everyone told us too. Now it is time to go back and start all over and do things the way we want them done and the only people that understand that are guys from the family. To sum it up, we have been burned and we are a little weary to turn the keys over to the ferrari to someone we dont trust. The only people we can trust is our own.
  16. He is really expressing the importance of the WO program because, "those guys would die for ya".
  17. He is supposed to be on in the 2nd hour sometime. Between noon and 1 central time. I believe this radio station is now streaming it. http://www.kxno.com/main.html just go to the Audio & Podcasting link.
  18. IBR is TO....TO is IBR.....so yes it will still be first hand
  19. There are 3 things i have learned on my short time on earth. 1) Water is wet 2) The sky is blue 3) Don't ever doubt TO. Good things will happen. I'm sure this was all in his master plan since he retired to become the AD at NU and raise us from the depths of haides to the Mountain top agian.
  20. The godfather TOM OSBORNE himself. That is the only way this guy knows all this stuff. I love you Dr. Tom. If you ever are in need of a bodily organ so you may remain, i am your man.
  21. I wonder how much this will affect LSU's defense the rest of this year. LSU has to know we are coming for him, I'm sure they can hear us 900 miles away in Baton Rouge. The rumors will only become louder the farther down the road we get. It will be interesting to see how Pelini handles the questions, because every week from here on out the first question he is going to get is "Have you heard anything about the NU job?"
  22. I agree. I think TO is the perfect guy to reunite the fan base. Right now we are split down the middle on how we feel. With the firing of SP we are coming together a little more. With the possibility of TO taking the helm we will once agian be united. Nothing like bringing in a guy to run the program that 95% of us would take a bullet for. I think this is a perfect kick start to bringing back the family and reuniting the fanbase with the team.
  23. My mailmans best friends, sisters boyfriend is really close to the LSU program and said Pelini laughed uncontrollably and then said if the price is right he will come back.
  24. Like i said, Rome is usually pretty fair. He obviously understands us (nu fans) more than Pud ever did. I thought he was right on about saying, we dont want the flashy hire we want results and someone from within the family who understands what we are about is the best hire.
