  1. "It wasnt that hot"..........He must be snorting lines of coke with Paris Hilton. He better watch out in what context he uses the word hot. Paris trademarked it and could sue him. I wouldn't want to see Paris take all his booster money.
  2. I recall being at the Iowa State game a number of years ago when they beat us in Ames. They tried to bring the goal posts down, they were at it for quite awhile, but I don't think they ever got it down. I remember my dad making the comment, "This is supposed to be a strong engineering school? And they can't even bring a goal post down?" I went to ISU and they put in idestructable goal posts. Mainly because everytime they would get a win, which isnt and wasnt much they would tear them down. They were tearing them down when they would beat Baylor. It was like a tradition, everytime they won the goal posts would come down. Since they have put them in I have seen them try to tear them down a few times, each with no success.
  3. Stop talking about how Cally hasn't opened up the playbook and he is waiting for the USC game to do so. What makes anyone think that is the case? We have been saying this for the last 3 years! There hasn't been one game where I have seen an opened up playbook, NOT ONE! This notion that after three years Callahan still has more plays to bring out is absolutely ludicruis. Mix in some misdirection, playaction, rollouts (i thought keller was supposedly functionaly mobile), something other than straight ahead running or passing. The teams we play know exactly what play is coming before we do, even with all this garbage of shifting at the line of scrimmage. The only thing the shifting does is confuse our own players and we get an average of 3 delay of game penalties per game because of it. I just want to see some execution of misdirection and non-telegraphed playcalling. Please Callahan I beg of you, show me something this year. I want to believe, i love the skers but unless i see some sort of a playbook this year i am going to begin lossing faith. I have been a BC backer from the beginning but i need some reassurance. (I had to get that off my chest, let the flogging begin)
  4. Sorry guys, i dont think it is going to be as cold as we would like. I checked it and it looks like 75/54. So just about perfect for a game. 54 may be a little cold for those surfers but i dont think it will make that big of diff.
  5. I would have to disagree. Unfortunately, the crowd does not catch TD passes or block for Keller. I think the crowd is almost irrelevant. We may be worth about 3 pts but that is it.
  6. In a way, that could be a good thing. Hopefully the teams we play are as lost as you and me when it comes to his game strategy. Your right in saying Cally is unpredictable up untill game time. However, one thing i have noticed is he either has a run based game plan or a pass based game plan. I have yet to see one that is supposedly balanced. By the time the 3rd qtr rolls around USC will already know what play is coming before BC does. I hope BC has some sort of brilliant coming out party, maybe he has been hiding in a shell for the last couple years. Unfortunately, i think his offense is based solely on execution even if the other team knows what is coming. He has no desire to try and catch the other team off guard, unless it is a gadget play. Untill we get the superior athletes, we will continue to struggle with mediocre teams that run deceit based game plans. Cally has no intention of trying to hide what he is doing. If Purify and Nunn are on the field = pass. If we have 3 TE = run. No playaction no counters, just straight ahead show what we are doing and try to stop us.
  7. Oh, i almost forgot to put in my prediction, I've been to busy stewing over this weekends loss........i mean win. If Cally somehow manages to mix in some sort of misdirection or non-predictable play calling NU 24, USC 31. If Cally remains fixated on saving the playbook NU 3, USC 65.
  8. I would love to think he is saving the playbook for USC. But something tells me, we have already seen the play book. In his tenure at NU the only kind of misdirection i have seen is Trick/Gadget plays. Sure they work once in a while, but there has to be some sort of rollout, or counter or playaction this guy has. Keeping the defense loyal is the key. It seems that late in games the other teams defense knows the exact play we are running as well as everybody watching. I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but Keller doesn't leave the pocket when pressured. I like to see a guy stand in the pocket but man when that thing collapses GET OUT. Perfect example was when Keller lost the ball on our own 10 yd line. BTW Keller better have sucked off Bowman after he made that interception and bailed out Keller.
  9. After watching the WF game I am extremely concerned about the coming week. Could somone please tell BC that he can mix in a little misdirection into his play calling. He was excedingly predictable this weekend. Case in point the 4th and 2 at the end of the game. Please tell me why we ran the ball for the 15th time in a row? If Cally wasnt going to try and get them to jump, he had to know they were selling out for the run. Had he known that he should have put in Castille to make them feel for sure we are running, it was a perfect time for a playaction pass to a TE. It probably would have went for a TD. WF sold out to the run, we knew they were selling out to the run.........yet we run anyway. Unless we mix in some deceit with playactions and roll outs there will be no way we will come close to USC, and Coz better find a way to keep our defense from over pursuing. That is all they did for the first 3 quarters of the game. Don't get me wrong i love guys flying to the ball, but if the offense seemingly gives up and lets you go in one direction, OPEN your friggen eyes its misdirection. All i have to say about this weeks win that should have been a loss, is WOW WE GOT LUCKY. Luck won't work agianst USC. Here's to hoping the team was looking forward to USC during the WF team.
  10. If your planning on staying the night i would bring a tent and sleeping bag. I think the State Fair grounds have camping for like $15 a night and there is a shuttle from the Devaney center to the stadium. Not the most ideal, but its better than sleeping in your car or in an alley half drunk. But congrats and good luck. GBR!!!
  11. Does anyone from Des Moines know if Chicken Coop will be caring this game?
  12. 2796 yds.............not bad. Too bad it still wouldnt be enough to win the Heisman. The media's love affair with JDB is so deep Lucky could rush for 5k and still get second.

    Chicken Coop

Do you guys know if they will be carrying the Ball State game? It is PPV and i dont want to shell out $30 for it.
  14. This is a joke. They have their own division and they have a playoff. There is no reason they should be in the top 25. Those rankings should be reserved for Div 1 schools who dont have a playoff. If there is not going to be a line drawn between divisions, why not replace the bottom team in the NFL with Florida. I am not trying to take anything away from App State, i think what they did is great. But they have there own divisional playoff system, why do they need to come into Div 1's seriously flawed playoff system. Unfortunately i dont agree that they could beat most Div-1 teams. They were great in the 1st game of the year agianst a team that was probably overrated and not ready to play. To sum it up they have their own playoff system in their division, STAY OUT of ours, because there is no way anyone can tell me App state could grind out an entire season agianst Div-1 opponents and be a top 25 team.
  15. college football live reaires at 5:30 central time on ESPNU.
  16. They probably won't even broadcast from Lincoln to avoid being humiliated. They will put up some backdrop with computer animated fans with signs that say "We love Corso", "Mark May is God". It will all be created in some studio in Hollywood. Just like the moon landing........................riiiiggghht.
  17. I read that article. It was hilarious. I think Suh or Octo had a similar comment about how misdirection doesn't work when your reverse gets blown up before you can start it. I love the voice this defense has. They arent scared of anyone and they talk a little smack. No go out and and back that smack up and shut down Weak Forest!!!!!
  18. I would say around 10,000. I think the stadium is actually closer to 36,000. Either way there will be more NU fans there than expected. With WF breaking in a new QB, I like NU by 18.
  19. Yeah I heard there was a severe PAIN storm warning. Better watch out. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
  20. Remember this isn't a life time achievement award, it has to be determined on what happens this year. McFadden could totally bomb yet. But then agian so could Lucky. It's all moot anyway JDB wins because Mark May and ESPN have a love affair with USC and their players.
  21. I would love to see Lucky in the mix for the Heisman. Unfortunately, the media hates NU and even if Lucky was to put up Playstation Stats all year it has already been decided that dousche bag John David Booty from USC is going to win it.
  22. I don't think it will be long and we will see him back on defense where he belongs. It sounds like the freshmen are picking up the system faster than expected. I think once the regular season starts we will see him move back over. Cally will keep him on offense untill then just for a safety line, but by the time conference play starts the freshmen will have enough game experience and practice to be somewhat dangerous.
  23. If i have to watch Nunn drop one more pass or make one more silly mistake i will punch myself in the face.
