I don't necessarily expect Callahan to be running around like crazy all game, but every assistant coach needs to be injecting emotion into these players the entire game. Also, when something needs addressed, and the assistants aren't getting any results....the HEAD COACH needs to make his presence felt. If no results then, get someone on the field who will. But, like you said, with their jobs on the line, the coaches have been just as flat as ever. Kind of resembles the 22 flat guys on the field, huh?

This is why Coach Osborne IS NEBRASKA! Husker Nation is in good hands! There will be some exciting times coming soon. I hope to see some former players come out and support the current guys right away. Let's put this family back together!!!!

Husker X...GREAT post. Some people are just blind to what has actually gone on in Lincoln. If ever there were a misleading record, Frank's 9-3 is. However, anti-callahan folks will mention that everytime. I guess getting blown out 3 times is better than playing 4 top 10 teams, going 9-5, and losing to 2 top 10 teams by a total of 5 points. Give me a break. Callahan took a Mack truck and had to turn it into a Ferrari...without even having the parts!!! The fact he has done what he's done so far, is amazing. I am confident this year is gonna be huge. Time to get it started. Go Big Red!!

Cody Glenn has always been a favorite of mine. He is amazing to watch run. I also think he will have a big year. I hope he and Lucky both have breakout years! One more week, baby!!! GO Big Red!!!!

Gameplan will cover it, I'm sure. Believe me, ESPN Gameplan has been a lifesaver down here in Alabama! I only missed 1 game last year (Nicholls State) the rest were on TV or gameplan! GO Big Red!!

I hope that the "8,000" Husker fans that make it to Columbia will be the same "8,000" that went to South Bend a few years ago. Maybe its true, but I've got more faith in our fans than that. Go Big Red!

hahahaha Those were some characters. I have a sneaking suspicion that more than 8,000 will be wearing red. I don't think we've had less than 8,000 at any away game, much less a big game in the division. We will see, I guess.

Yep...OU is going to be good this year. Their defense is going to be great. I hope they win the south, and we get to play them again this year. As for the Huskers, I have not felt this amped up for a season since I don't know when...I guess in the 90's we were so used to winning, it was kind of like business as usual. Then when Frank took over, it started slipping, and we started to lose that confidence. I was definitely pumped for Coach Callahan's first year because of the monumental change about to happen. Since 2002, I have not felt totally confident, like I was used to....Until 2007!!! I've just got a feeling about this team. I can't explain it. They have impressed me as young men, and as athletes all spring, summer, and into fall camp. Anybody else about to explode waiting on the wolfpack to get into Lincoln?????? Go Big Red!!!

I definitely believe we can compete this year. I don't think there is a team on our schedule we will roll over for. I love the new attitude and confidence this team is showing. We do have a great schedule. Even if we start the year at 18-22, we have the schedule that could move us up the polls quickly. I fully believe this year can be special, and I also believe this year is just the beginning of us returning to our place among the elite teams!!! Man I'm pumped!!!! GO Big Red!!!!

Haha....I thought I was the only one who noticed a biased approach. But hey, I live in Alabama....I hear all too much how unbelievable the SEC is, and how every SEC team would be undefeated if only they didn't have to play those pesky SEC teams. Give me a break!!!!! I'd take the top four Big 12 teams against the top 4 teams in any conference. The problem with the last 3 years or so, is with all the fluff being blown up the SEC teams' collective behinds, ESPN, SEC fans, and others are actually starting to believe it. And just what exactly have they done that any other conference hasn't? If the SEC is so great, and we (NU) is so weak, how do they explain us outplaying the team that beat the mighty Florida Gators? The SEC is no better, in my opinion than the Big XII or Pac-10. They just have a ton more hype.

That's what I think. There is a fine line between hate and fear. That's why TO never coached his teams to hate....because it was too close to fear. I, for one, think its great that teams, fans, media, ESPN, etc. hate us. If they keep pumping the hate, they may just end up fearing us. They know our past, add that to the current hate...... I've just got a feeling that this team and staff has a different attitude and confidence this year. There is something brewing in Lincoln, and this year is gonna be GREAT! Go Big Red!!!

Has anyone mentioned Ohio State? A chance to shut Herbstreit up for just a second, would be good enough for me!! Also, I like: Bama (would be a great gameweek with the in-laws) Michigan Louisville, WVU, or Rutgers (let them earn their 10 wins by playing some decent OOC games) Go Big Red!!

Amen to Taylor being the heart and soul of NU's return to prominance. As for a tight end....We need somebody to be for real. With our improved O-line, receivers that can stretch the field, backs who can break a long run, and a QB that can launch the ball downfield....if we get a TE threat, the opponents will feel like the field is about as wide as they are up in Canada! Go Big Red!!
