I know that the NFL and NCAA are very different, but look at how the NFL uses officials as opposed to the NCAA. In the NFL, officials are held accountable by the league and not just a conference or division. So why in college football do the conferences get their own officials? Why can't there be NCAA-wide officiating crews? I honestly don't know very much about this so I would appreciate it if you could enlighten me.

Perlman needs to apologize to Bo for calling him out in the media like this. He didn't even mention the blatantly biased officiating.

I wonder how long it will take him to get on the field regularly. The defensive end has some very important responsibilities and he has to learn all of them before he can help this team.

They might be focusing more on economic issues, but when the time comes for them to vote on legislation regarding social issues, I think they will vote the same way the Republican party has for some time. Especially regarding abortion, drugs, gay marriage, and any victimless "crime" that they can get their hand on.

If we win in a more convincing fashion than Oklahoma did versus Texas, then that would reflect very well on us even with the national media.

This isn't that new. He basically played linebacker most of last year. Even though he is pretty small for a linebacker, I would rather have him out there than guys like Martin or Whaley who are liabilities with their propensity for being out of position and not hitting the right hole on run plays.

In this thread we could talk about the free market versus mixed markets, but I feel that that topic has been beaten to death in previous threads and no one is going to change their mind on the matter. Maybe it would be more constructive to talk about money using different economic models. I'm not telling you what you can and can't post about, I just feel it would be better to keep this thread more focused. As I'm sure you're well aware, people value things differently. I think that most people put a far greater value on money than you do. Since you have no use for your money you can just send it to me and I will get it off of your hands for you

I would definitely prefer a gold standard over the current fiat money that this country uses, however, I would much prefer it if the government stopped intervening completely in fiscal policy. I agree with you that a gold standard would prevent many disastrous policies of government. In a free market the currency would be whatever the buyer and seller happen to agree upon. Although the majority of transactions would probably involve gold, they wouldn't have to.

I didn't get to see the whole game, so could you tell me if they had a lot of success running that?

I don't think that the offense as a whole was exposed, but Martinez's passing ability was. It seemed to me that most of the players on offense barely brought forth any effort in this game which led to us only scoring 17. But even when Taylor had time to throw he was still throwing ducks out there. You can tell that he still has tremendous work to do to become an accurate passer.

I don't think you can blame all of this on Watson, the offensive line played horrendously. I went to the game and I can't count how many times the defensive line ran straight into the backfield untouched or barely blocked and got a tackle for a loss.

Nothing says Nebraska tradition like embarassing an opponent badly and then piling on further. Go Huskers! Look, we're going to win the game. However, there is no reason to try to score 70 points just to show our superiority against an overmatched opponent. Also, that last comment makes you seem sadistic.

I agree. I saw a lot of improvement with Martinez in his pocket awareness. He's noticing who is going to blitz before the snap better than he did in the first two games.
