  1. It was because the orange padding came loose and that is what you saw beyond the ball. The black pole was always behind the end of the ball and it was a first down and the chain was tight.
  2. It means they think USC is about 14 pts better on a nuetral field and we get 3 pts for being home. That seems like an accurate spread. Remember its not based on what they actually think the difference will be but rather what will cause people ot bet evenly. I thought a good performance by us would have made an 8 pts spread. Good line, if we can score then we will cover. The over is easy if we can score 14 or more b/c USC will score 27+
  3. Black maybe your fast enough to be a receiver since that is your size. Anyway, it sounds to me like people are complaining about serious concerns they have about last game and issues that might be exposed next week. Why do you guys freak out because people are concerned? I GUARANTEE the coaches are seriously concerned about some issues going into the USC game. Mainly the timing with Keller and the rush defense. And people seem to complain when there is something to complain about. You know what I did hear last week, everyone talking about USC being overrated, too high on themselves and the coaches looking ahead to NU, but we can critique them. We shouldn't critique our own team.
  4. As usual very few of you even look at the facts. Wake rushed for 151 net yards (after sacks) in the second half. that is a majority of their rushing yards. Great adjustments. Seriously, who said he made adjustments and stopped the run? Hello?
  5. I feel as though people on this board don't understand your initial subject. Did Nebraska get outcoached by Wake Forrest? Not, did we win? It is a valid question and yes we were terribly outcoached by their offense.
  6. I totally agree. It would be silly not to make it a sea of red. That is what we are known for. I realize the game is at night but I don't think USC is afraid of the dark so a black out isn't scary
  7. Well college kid, I played college football and what your saying isn't close to the truth but I understand what you mean. First, every team goes through it and I am sure Nebraska was in N.C. early enough to give the team time to rest. Bed check is usually 10 pm anyway. Also, Wake is only 1 hr ahead of us so they would have been just as tired by getting up early and the game was at noon. Everyone goes through the same stuff so that is a terrible excuse. The only advantage is playing in front of their fans, which in reality was more in fron of our fans.
  8. That's true, I doubt the defense had anything to do with it playing the prevent. The 2 minute drill works a lot because the defense is playing prevent. I think our o-line would get tired trying to play no huddle and they have 3 deeps at every position so they would just rotate in the next series. And if the no huddle doesn't work then USC gets the ball back faster.
  9. Thank you Hunter! I don't think many people here have played football on a high level, which is fine, but to think coaches held back the magic beans until next week AND to think that USC isn't expecting it or able to adjust is silly. The ONLY thing we can do to surprise them is a few well executed trick plays. Formations and misdirections have been shown in spring, against Nevada or last year.
  10. That sounds great if it will get the defense to finally recognize the blackshirts and... THROW THEM DAMN BONES!!! Not thrown once in 2 games. Does anyone now if there was a ban on this???? I mean seriously? This bothers me not to see this tradition anymore this year.
  11. I think that if we even lose by 20 next week we will still be in the top 25 maybe even the top 20. The media will just assume USC is really as good as they said.
  12. I think it is somewhere around 28th. Someone else would be able to say right away but I can look it up. I am sure you mean how high we were ranked at the end of the year since during the year doesn't mean much unless you are a top 10 team Even that doestn' matter ask Michigan, since that is everyone's fav example. There really isn't any difference between 13-20 nor is there a diference between 9-12. The top 8 each spot really matters b/c of the BCS.
  13. Husker Rob, that would have been a better series and I would like you to be our HC. Can I start an exploritory commitee or can we announce you as a condidate now? I would prefer you make calls. And, TD Tommie, didn't you read what I said. If it worked then it was the right call and I would have given him credit. IT DIDN'T WORK, SO STOP THE WHAT IF GAME....IT DIDN'T WORK...BAD CALL. But "WHAT IF" Wake didn't drop the ball on a deep TD pass, throw a pick in the end zone and we lost anyway???? Well, that is basically if you play the "what if" game. None of that matters because it didn't happen either.
  14. It was a bad play call even if the pope called it. Ask anyone outside of the state and you will hear the same thing. Want to know why it was a bad call, because it didn't work at all. The defense knew it was coming. Just like if it worked then it was a good call. That's how it works. The only exception is if someone dropped or fumbled the ball. If you call a play, and the defense predicts it's coming AND it didn't work the play before then it's a bad call. I don't care who called it. BC was not my point at all.
  15. I think everyone is just expressing their concerns after this game and there were a few areas of concern but I don't think anyone is unhappy that we won.
  16. Black label...nice work not talking about my points rather discussing me. Anyway, I am happy we won but I am concerned we gave up 236 yds rushing. My point was we were not looking ahead but perhaps we took Wake too lightly regardless of USC. I don't think our players are overrated...I have never said that. I think our team win against Nevada made us look better than we might be. I am a huge Keller fan and I like our linebackers coming into the season. What is your problem? I am not pissed off at all.
  17. Yes it is a W...and as of right now it's time to talk about areas of improvement and our next game. USC
  18. If you think giving up 236 yds is looking ahead you are mistaken. Keller's timing was off with the receivers, the ends didn't stay home and our safeties got burned...not looking ahead. We are not as good as we thought after the Nevada game and Wake is more physical than we thought. I think they underestimated Wake but not because of USC.
  19. Let me get this straight.....The team shouldn't look past Wake to next week but the coaches changed the playbook and left it that way during a close game because they play USC next week? Seriously, maybe if they played Ball St. but not against Wake on the road in a close game. I would be shocked if that was the case. I think they would have opened up the playbook after the game stayed close.
  20. This has been our offense and defense under BC so I don't see what we did different to try and hide anything. We almost lost, I don't think anything was a ploy. That might be the dumbest guy on earth or drunkest. They might try not to pull out trick plays or show some blitzing schemes but they didn't tell Keller to miss his timing with his receivers and the ends to crash the corners and not stay home on defense.
  21. We will NOT fall for winning on the road against an ACC team unless it was close against Duke. We might moved up b/c everyone else is losing...that would be a riot.
  22. Keller and the receivers haven't been consistent and that is a concern. USC will stop our run first until we prove we can throw the ball (and catch it). I think our chances rely mmore on which USC team shows up. We don't have the talent to play with USC BUT we have home field, USC has only 1 game where they didn't play well and this season seems to be the year of the underdog....hey I think that is even a movie.
  23. See the similar play right before it.
  24. There is a lot of reason for concern because Wake should get credit for being more physical than us. That is a big concern. I expected their front 7 to be tough but their O-Line beat us up also. That is a concern regardless of who you give the credit to. Let's not forget they ran for 2 yards against BC and we ga ve up 236.
  25. They were really good on the intermediate throws and the DB's tackled well. The safety coverage is a concern with USC next weekend so let's hope it was just a blown coverage or miscommunication and not poor coverage getting beat on a move.
