  1. Welcome Steve! We hope you'll visit here often.
  2. It is very hard to convince an 18 year old kid to come to a small town in the middle of nowhere where it gets very cold when he can go to a southern school. I love my home state and want to move back there some day, but try to tell that to a five or four star from the south. We don't get the hyped talent and so have to spend a lot of time coaching them up. But don't you think that some of these kids see how Nebraska is playing and think, 'Wow, I could really make a difference there. They need a player like me in that position.' I have heard some recruits voice those very things when considering playing at Nebraska.
  3. this may be the most gut wrenching post yet.........and true. But is it true? NO progess made? None at all? It just seems a little extreme to me. Taylor has gone from an insecure, fairly good runner to an actual quarterback. He has grown so much! How about Stafford? He made some nice tackles tonight. Our defense were out there all game long. Terrance Moore made some great plays despite having lost his Dad this week. I think we HAVE made progress-I think back at the beginning of the season when we were all predicting how NU would do this year in a new conference-we said we would lose 3-4 games and Michigan was one of the 'scariest' games on the schedule. Look what we've done this year! Our first year in the B1G and we have beaten the two teams that will likely play in the B1G CG. Yeah, it's crap that it's not us but I just do not agree that we have made NO PROGRESS. I look forward to beating Iowa at home and to see who we play in our bowl game. Sorry, I respectfully disagree-we have made some progress and we will continue to make progress. We have a young team and we're already seeing what they can do. It will be exciting to see how much they grow over the summer. I think next year will be our year.
  4. I hope you're just talking about tonight's game because if you're not then you are totally wrong about Taylor. He HAS made significant improvements with his passing game and game management. So, I'm assuming you're just talking about tonight's game-right?
  5. CRAP! The power has been out here for the first half of the game then we get it back and get this?? COME ON HUSKERS!!!
  6. We get better and better!
  7. Very cool Knappic-How many people does this stadium hold?
  8. Now I don't feel so badly about us losing to Northwestern. Okie State did the same thing we did! They underestimated Iowa State with their eyes on the big game against Oklahoma and it cost them. In my opinion, they would've lost to Oklahoma anyway but I think in the future these teams are going to pay attention to each and every game. There are no 'gimme games' anymore no matter what the conference. Wouldn't it be a hoot if Indiana upset MSU today?
  9. Dennard! I think we're going to see him pick off, pick off and pick off! GO BIG RED!!!
  10. HUGE UPSET!! It will be interesting to see which 1 loss team will play LSU now.
  11. REMEMBER THE ALAMO!!!!! GO BIG RED!!!
  12. No change-our uniforms are classic-they never go out of style. As far as being 'forced to change' by whom? I don't think so.
  13. So sad: http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/45354850/ns/sports-college_basketball/
  14. He wasn't injured last saturday. He was benched because he had two straight red zone turnovers and nearly threw a pick six while being tackled. This just went over Craig James' head, who just assumed Denard must have been injured. Denard is a great athlete, but he makes dumb, dumb decisions. I don't really see him having a big day against you guys, because he has yet to play well against a solid defense in 2 years. I read in a couple of news reports that he had a light sprain to one of his wrists?
  15. Wow. Terrance if you read this board, know that our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. Poor kid.
  16. Thanks for sharing knappic. That's very cool. I don't think folks are 'all of a sudden crazy in love with Ron Brown'. I think they just appreciated the fact that he was there and was able to lead. Besides, I've always been crazy about the guy! I think it will effect recruiting. What a class act! Any parent would want their student to play for NU. We have done well in our first year in the B1G and we are a very good university. Looking forward to the game this Saturday! GO BIG RED!
  17. Welcome to the board Michigan fan! This weekend should be fun. I just have one thing to say: REMEMBER THE ALAMO!
  18. I think we can win this one. Drob has been hurt in the past two games and from what I've read on Michigan boards he's not that great of a passer. I hope that Dennard and Co. can pick off several of his passes and that we can see some defensive scoring. I do think it will be important for us to score right away and MAINTAIN that score for the WHOLE 4 QUARTERS of the game. I also hope to see some defensive pressure this game. That's really been lacking. We give the opposing quarterback too much time in the pocket and it kills us.
  19. I thought this year was exciting. Our first year in the B1G and we've done fairly well, with the exception of Wiscy and NW. I wonder if for many of us, myself included, we're still measuring every season against our teams from '95? That's a pretty tall yardstick. I think we come close and when we don't meet that expectation we feel defeated/depressed/you name it. We have a young team. I think as we grow we're going to get closer to that 95' team. At least we're in a decent conference now. For our first year in a new conference I think we've done well. It will be interesting to see if we can win our next two games and hopefully NW will beat MSU. Remember MSU doesn't play so well on the road AND I think they might, just might, be looking forward to the B1G championship and underestimate NW. Could happen.
  20. I read with interest this little conversation in the 'Monday Mail Bag' on espnu Big Ten Blog: Dylan from Concordia, Kan., writes: You said in earlier posts on your blog you think Nebraska has a good chance at getting an at large bid. What are the odds that if we do, we play a Big 12 team that gets an at large, and if we do what team do you see us playing KSU or OU if OSU were to win out? Brian Bennett: How about Nebraska-Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl? Is that something you might be interested in? I could see it happening, whether the Sooners beat Oklahoma State or not. That would be SO sweet if we could play AND beat Oklahoma! That would be a blast!
