  1. I agree... The stiff arm was ok, but the knee was devastating to Hawkins. I am not sure if he was holding his head while down on the field because he couldn't believe what just happened or because he got his bell rang a little from the knee of Suh. I believe it was more MMA style then WWE though. (Thank you to poster "Lyons in a Sea of Red" for the picture that was posted in another thread.) Suh is a great athlete and I hope he returns next year.
  2. I am very happy that Turner is finding so much success! It's great for him and even great for Osborne. As for whether he should be here.... I am happy that we got Pelini. We needed a major overhaul of defense and that is what were getting. It good for us to be where we are and great that Gill is getting so much national press for the great job he has done there. It is working out for eveyone!
  3. You really don't think so? I hate to compare other games or teams, but will here for argument sakes. Baylor gave them a good game Saturday... all TT wanted and then some. I don't believe the game with them was a fluke. I believe they (The Huskers) were not only close to winning but actually had the talent and skill to pull it off that day. Obviously & unfortunately they came up short. But the Huskers did not "play" above themselves that day.
  4. Assuming that we win.... Florida State would probably be the better team for us to beat and get the most exposure from. (It would be nice to play and have a chance to not be 0-4 anymore with them in our bowl games as well.)
  5. Luck? No, that was the talent that some think to seem that we are lacking this year. And to think he turned down a full ride scholarship to Creighton to walk-on at Nebraska. He knew what he wanted. There isn't a kick at a Creighton soccer game that would have ever given him this much popularity!!! Thank you to those on the team that have ever walked-on and those that will in the future. You make the Huskers better whether you see much playing time or not.
  6. Bo said he was able to go only in an "emergency". That tells me that he truely wasn't healthy enough to, but because he was a senior he was allowed to suit up to take the field for senior day. I am happy he was a Husker, he did some good things for us, but Helu is the better "running" back.
  7. Just saw on Omaha.com's Big Red Section that Kevin Young comitted to Nebraska after his visit on Friday. He was comitted to Kansas but after Papuchis got him to Lincoln he fell in love with it. He graduates in December and will be on campus in January to start classes. Link: http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_page=3918...;u_sid=10396039
  8. I agree. Will the same thibg happen to Missouri now as what happened to Boise State when Hawkins left? Boise State is arguably better with their Asst that took over after Hawkins left then Colorado is with him now. Sometimes the assistant is the "real" deal. As I said above it will be interesting to see if Missouri does infact feel the pain. Pinkel, IMO, is not the real deal with the Missouri program. His coaching hasn't ever been that impressive. We'll have to wait and see if it was infact the OC or not. Also makes me wonder what Gabbert is thinking right now. Didn't he go there after all for the most part because of their OC? (Maybe I am wrong about that)
  9. Goto gatorbowl.com... they list what side of the field the BIG12 team will be on in the "Buy Tickets" tab. Flights look fairly cheap for the New Years trip. Those going should have a fairly cheap roundtrip. I wish I was going but I have family coming to town for the Holiday and therefore can't go. Enjoy your trip and a Husker win!!! GBR
  10. Dude... Why do you sign every post with your name? We all know know what it is from oyur avatar.
  11. And then Solich will come back to coach the RB when he gets let go from Ohio. (Just don't let fankie be the RC!!!)
  12. Colorado fans.... not even close. The NCAA should dtep in and sanction Colorado for the actions of their fans. NO ONE IS WORSE!
  13. Like Bo syas.... control what you control and let the rest take care of itself. If we win out and beat the teams we should beat.... we will be ranked when it is deserved. That is all any of us can ask for.
  14. Congratulations! A complete effort by those of you who were able to reply! Now lets see it from the team next week. A complete game and a complete A** whipping of the buffs.
  15. Or maybe it was to get away from Callahan. No one thought it at the time, but that seems the most logical reason now. As for Coach Watson.... I truely believe he stays for atleast the next few years. He likes this state and has a great respect for Tom and even for Bo. Money isn't everything to him either... he proved that last year when he turned down the Alabama job that would have doubled his pay here.
  16. Well, he either quit on his team and coach or his coach finally quit on him. Either way I am very glad he didn't end up coming here. We didn't need a player with his mental makeup. Ganz has outplayed him completely now two years in a row. We have the better quarterback and they got a guy with impressive size and really not much else. His "mental makeup" leaves a lot to be desired. I am just glad that he is 0-3 against the Huskers and hope he returns for his senior year and a game here in Lincoln. I would love to see him go 0-4 vs the Huskers.
  17. Why not move Thernarse into the LB spot? He wouldn't have to worry about the deep coverage and could just go run to the ball... which is what he seems to be ok at.
  18. For what it is worth... I don't like doing this because I am not here to start rumors, however, a co-worker just told me that it was for selling his game tickets. Which according to him is also a violation of University and NCAA rules. Can anyone else confirm if that truely is a violation? If not, then obviously he doesn't know what he is talking about. I feel bad for the team. I feel bad for Bo, but I am glad he made the decision for whatever the reason is. I believe this sends loud and clear signs to the rest of the team. A senior with 2 regular season games and a bowl left was just given the boot. It could happen to any of them.
  19. This was the worst officiated game of the year in my mind. They blew too many calls and gave Kansas a ton of non-calls. But then again... after the rest of the year it shouldn't surprise me. This is the worst year I can remember in the Big 12 ever. Not just for (or against) us but overall. The worst call today was the catch over the middle by Kansas and the following fumble that wasn't, after the refs called it incomplete. I just hope that the Big 12 reviews each of the crews and make some huge changes in the off season.
  20. West did get beat on every play but one where he actually turned his head and broke up the pass. I think Prince is better and should be starting in front of him.
  21. Now thats funny... I don't care who you are. Cy, thank you, for providing perspective for some on this board.
