  1. +1 And it's amazing how the draught difference is from bar to bar. I went to a sports bar on St. Patty's this year and ordered a Guinness. It was noticeably blah. Very little head and not very smooth. I then go to a local Irish pub a couple days later...and it was like a night/day difference. I think a lot of that depends on whether or not they do the company's recommended pour. The company (Diageo) says the double pour should take 119.53 seconds and be served at 42.8 degrees Farenheit. A lot of bartenders just want to pour your beer, get your money and move on. Can't say I blame them though. You are absolutely correct. Also, dirty beer lines can make some great beers taste bad. Brothers Bar is notorious for this. BINGO! I worked as a bartender making my way through college and later as a manager. Poorly maintained draught equipment is the number one cause for poor quality of the product. Vendors used to hate my guts because I made them adhere to a strict maintenance schedule of their equipment.
  2. The fact that Ernie is very intelligent is probably the biggest knock against him. He has the ability to have made real progress and real change in this state, but he squandered it all in favor of holding court in a bully pulpit, and in the end accomplished very little for all the time he spent in office. DING...DING...DING!!!! We have a winner!!! Ernie likes to tell himself that Nebraskan's screwed him over with term limits, when in reality Ernie screwed Ernie.
  3. like this..? http://www.youtube.c...h?v=4CDmPf4a8I4 of course, it pales in comparison to the coolness that is bruce campbell... Bruce Campbell Rulz!!!

  5. And they usually abduct poor saps from trailer parks....coincidence? Maybe that's why tornadoes hit trailer parks first.....it's the aliens trying to cover up the evidence.
  6. Hope you find what you are looking for HERE.
  7. Who is this? Jim Carrey from the movie "Yes Man." Carrey wasn't actually in Lincoln for the shoot. The worst part was the footage was taken of the stadium and fans during the 2007 Oklahoma State debacle. I'll bet there was a ton of footage on the cutting room floor after that mess.
  8. I complained just as much about the Bush/Hitler comparisons. Believe me . . . I had about 10 English classes in college where people would introduce themselves as "Hi, I'm ____ and I think George W. Bush is an @#$(#{:content:}quot; I just wasn't a Huskerboard member at the time. "Stop whining It's politics." Really? If you think that, you are part of the problem. Politics should be more than mudslinging and name calling. That seems to be all that the tea party is capable of. Again, if you think that you have just as much maturing to do as those idiots. Eh, it's always been that way. When the Federalists were publishing pamphlets and giving speeches against Jefferson, all kinds of crazy sh#t was thrown out there. "A vote for Jefferson is a vote against God almighty." Charges of treason of all things flew like confetti. Some Tea Partiers get crazy. Some leftists got crazy when Bush was in office. There's a significant portion of left wingers who to this day believe our former president was involved in a conspiracy to kill 3,000 Americans on 9/11. Obama isn't a communist by any meaningful definition, and nor is he a socialist by most definitions (last I checked he still upholds that property should remain private and not belong exclusively to the state). He does, however, seem to maintain that in all instances government programs are the only way to solve problems. Even in health care––this wasn't the bill he wanted, it was the bill he could get. Although Hamilton, a Federalist, detested both Jefferson and Burr, he found Jefferson as the "lessor of two evils" and swayed the election in his favor. The Adams/Jefferson contest for president should be required reading not only for Poli-Sci but in every primary school history class.
  9. I'm disappointed my Vikings will have to play him twice a year.
  10. Anybody want to mail one to Colt McCoy? BOO!!!
  11. As bad as they suck this year, you could probably get someone to give you their season ticket seat the rest of the year for a quarter.
  12. I vote for the one stomping a "Suh sized" mudhole in Cody Hawkins returning the pigskin for the score in '08.
  13. Since voting began, Suh's overall has been pushed up to 87 from 85. Keep voting.
  14. It was with great fanfare yesterday that General Motors the UAW announced that it was repaying some $4.7 billion of $6.7 billion in loans it received from the federal government. And, with even bigger fanfare, it was announced that this partial repayment was being made some five years earlier than expected. Too good to be true? Well, it is. What you weren't told was that GM the UAW was able to repay the money by drawing down on a line of credit that it had from TARP. In other words, GM the UAW took funds still available to it through TARP and used those funds to repay the loan it received from the government. Of course, it now owes $4.7 billion on its line of credit with TARP, but, that doesn't make for good news for the bailout of GM the UAW, so it wasn't reported or fact checked by the media.
  15. EA Sports is running a promotion during the three days of the 2010 NFL Draft coverage called Rate the Rookies for Madden NFL 11 due out later this year. Help shape the player ratings for the 2010 NFL Draft class. This is your chance to make sure Suh is rated where you think he should be instead of someone else's lame rating. This is where he is rated currently by EA Sports......
  16. It looks like the wide splits between the linemen installed for the Holiday Bowl is going to be a permanent change giving the QB extra time to go through his progressions.
  17. UNL Rick-Rolls the Westboro Baptist Church protesters :laughpound :laughpound :laughpound :laughpound :laughpound :laughpound
  18. +111 This news made my day. He was a treasure for the university, what more can he do??? this really should mean something to recruits. i mean for everything SUH did for the university, he thinks he still owes something back. just imagine, then, what he believes the university gave to him. i mean, it may be just him being altruistic, but even then, that says something about the university that the star player going to the nfl would want to give so much back. he obviously has respect for the program and thinks it is worth trying to help maintain/increase its success. It's just someone showing his appreciation to the program that helped him move to the next level. He was ready to pack his bags and head to Oregon before Bo promised him he could be that player he wanted to be, if he gave Bo and his staff the chance to mold him into that player.
  19. Are you trying to cause a total CG Shipper© board meltdown??? Why don't you just wear a "I heart Halliburton" shirt to an anti-war protest!!! Can't.....get.....worms.....back.....in.....can.....they're everywhere!!! Dammit Jim, I'm a doctor not worm wrangler!!!
  20. SEE.....now you went and pi$Sed off the Cody Green Shippers©
  21. How did the O-Line look against the Blackshirts D-Line? I think O-line did a very good job today, more-so in the first half then in the second though. But, it's a tough call to make. They mixed up a lot of guys on the o-line and they were constantly rotating fresh faces into the d-line up. That said, they were opening up holes regularly and the running threats our quarterbacks possessed helped open some of those holes. For the most part though, both sides played well against each other and made some good things happen. I was really impressed with pass-pro today for the offense though. Our quarterbacks had a lot of time to get rid of the ball, and I know one sack today was just a coverage sack, when blame for the sack falls on the QB for taking too long. I don't remember seeing a sack from the d-line just bull rushing into the backfield. Glad to hear! If the O-Line can get back on track this year, it should be one helluva season.
