It's been quite a few years ago, but I got a whole lotta love from Florida State grads when I was down there in my Husker gear. Gator and Hurricane boys were just bush-league pricks, but the Fla State crowd NEVER forgot the class act of Nebraska... (from direct quotes) they have always viewed us as what they want to be. I kinda feel bad that they've now got some real rough times coming IMO. 86

I'm real curious to see how all of the troops respond to the new sheriff in town. Do we hear daily about someone leaving the team? (not that it's a bad thing...)

I think it actually took 5 or 6 hours. I got my 6 tickets at 10 am (but they already appeared to be on the edges of the reserved seating areas).

Not totally on topic, but I seem to remember that Roger Craig was always bothered by nagging injuries when a Husker... but that when he got totally healthy later in the NFL, he was, of course, outstanding.

Beck Newcombe (I remember getting into a heated argument with a buddy when Newcombe and Crouch were pretty much completely even... really still competing for the same job... at the time I argued that Crouch would prove the superior college quarterback. Bobby then went thru a whole series of 'head games', leaving Lincoln etc. - if I remember correctly, where it felt like he wasn't ever in it for the team). I think Newcombe was named the starter and Crouch went home crying to mommy. good point... i had forgotten about Eric's meltdown...if memory serves, I believe he was first, and then it switched, and Bobby went all the way back to New Mexico, and had to be talked into coming back by his high school coach. (either way, two big egos i guess...)

If that article isn't dog-poo...I don't know what is. The only teams in his final list that have a chance at winning the MNC are USC/Georgia. Kansas? Wake Forest??? Sorry dude, look at Kansas' schedule from 2007. I hate Missouri...but where are they in the final rankings? They have a much better chance than KU. Where's Oklahoma? Oops, no mention of them. Could KU beat Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship? I sincerely doubt it. If anything...this only shows that many of these writers have no idea what they are writing about. They're simply desk-jockeys that over-analyze everything, find some ridiculous "correlation" and write about it. Congratulations...one of your long-shot "correlations" actually didn't conflict with the data from 2007. Gotta be Rich Glover. He was 'the man' when I was just a little guy and falling in love with the Huskers for the first time (and also because my dad was going crazy over how great Glover was - "just watch how many guys they put on Rich this time").

We know that Bo has said he'll put the best players on the field. We also know a bit more about the faces that will make up this year's recruiting class... Question is; Is 2008 the 'Young Thundering Herd', upper classmen who get their a$$es in gear, or (as I suppose) a mix of both?
