Do I like losing? No. But I also don't think we need to fire the head coach everytime we don't win a national title or conference title. The problem with this team is talent, they are lacking in key areas. We are going to have off years (for Nebraska that would be any season with a loss, right?). Get over it. Now, if they don't do something about the areas that are lacking talent, then I think you have to start looking at replacing the assistant coaches that are responsible for leading in the evaluation process. One area that I think Bo needs to look at really hard and seriously is the O-line. They suck, if you want to be honest. They are not consistent, and have not opened any holes against an equal or even a lessor opponent. They also can't protect the QB when he drops to pass on most plays. This is a problem. This is Cotton...they brought in help for him this year, and it has not changed...it is still sub par, especially for Nebraska football. I never thought I would see the O-line be such a problem for so long at Nebraska. This is a nightmare. Is this Callahan's curse to Nebraska? Another area that Bo should be totally ashamed of right now is the defense, this is not a Blackshirt unit, no matter if he did hand them out. They are not deserving and remind me of a Callahan defense, minus the mouthing and bragging that they gave you about how good they were when they stunk. Defense is supposed to be Bo's area, he should be able to evaluate players. Every player on this team is Bo's now. There is no excuse. Either he needs to get more involved and start kicking some asses and motivate some people or start replacing them...coaches and players. If they don't have the talent, then he needs to re-evaluate how he is doing those evaluations, or who is doing the evaluations, because there is obviously some problems. Do I think Bo needs to go? No...not unless he cannot manage this whole situation and right the ship. I would say that the fans at Nebraska will give him at least another year to turn things around...but no more than 2 without at least a conference title. We are an impatient group that expects perfection. He knew that coming in.

This game will just about put the nail in the coffin as far as any Big 10 championship game goes, with the opponents we have coming up and where those games are at. Another season down the toilet.

Another lessor opponent that Nebraska played down to the level of. This game should not be a loss, and should not have been close. Northwestern is not a powerhouse, there is no excuse for this. We see this every year...what do we have to do to put a stop to this crap?

I really believe that the Huskers will make the Big 10 a better conference as a whole, solely because of the conditioning factor. It won't take them long to figure out what we are doing right, and do it themselves. I think the Big 12 learned that lesson from us back when it was still the Big 8...and then the teams that come in did also if they weren't doing what the Huskers were. If you want to be a top tier team...you have to be able to compete for 4 quarters.

I seen Bo looking at it after that series...nobody really said anything about it on TV...but you had to wonder what they were looking at.

I wish they would open it up in the first half like they did the first series of the second half. Why is it that we always have to wait until halftime to see these adjustments? Then after the 1st series of the 2nd half it seems like they went back into the previous mode. The only reason they get away with that is because the other team isn't as well conditioned as Nebraska. I like Beck...but come on...make the adjustments BEFORE halftime. It is almost like they have the first half scripted...and come hell or high water they are not going to budge.

I really think the play calling of the Spartans held them back. If they would have just thrown slant patterns over the middle, it might have been a much different passing game. I wasn't impressed with their 2nd half lack of adjustments either. The players kept their heads up until the end, I will give them credit for that. I hope that the fans enjoyed their experience in Lincoln...to me it is one of the best places to experience college football.

A win is good. Yeah would have been nice to see a backup QB, but the stuff they had Martinez doing in the 4th Qtr was low risk...so deal with it. You want to bring in a backup just to hand off the ball?

I did see alot of pieces of Husker history during the game...didn't see any of Michigan State really. So I really don't see any slant at all.

Michigan will be an SOB...but Penn State will be too, especially at Happy Valley. Those are two places that Husker fans need to invade, paying any price they have to for a ticket.

On any given Saturday a team, no matter who they are, what conference they are in, or where they are ranked, can be beaten. This is true of Nebraska or any other team in the Big 10 or any other conference. Nobody can predict it...that is why we play the games each and every week. The Big 10 will adjust to our style of football...and we theirs.

I think Michigan State played totally stupid against Nebraska. All they had to do is throw slant passes and they would have made it difficult for us. They played stupid. Then there was the conditioning. It was very clear that they were tired in the 3rd and 4th quarter. I think if anything, Nebraska will improve the play of the Big 10 Conference. They will come around to the conditioning that Nebraska has used to their benefit for years. Most Big 10 teams are not as well conditioned as they should be to compete at a top level. That is NOT to say that we have a cake walk, we don't. If Martinez goes down with an injury or Burkhead for that matter, we are toast. I hate this offensive scheme where we put all the marbles in Matinez and Burheads laps. Martinez is one of the worst passers that I have ever seen in Husker history. He can run, and he can get lucky with the passing. There is no other back on this team that stands up to Burkhead. Period.

Nebraska 27 Michigan State 38 Passing 260 Rushing 160 Michigan State's defense is much better than Nebraska's. That will be the difference.
