  1. The evaluation should be over, this flippin' staff has given us our worse loss EVER & the worse defense in over 50 years. I wouldn't want these idiots coaching our high school team! I was openly supporting the possibility of keeping Watson...not anymore, I want them all gone & everything associated with these clowns. I hate to say it but same with the players & recruits, don't whine about how you support these clowns--you were brought here or asked to come here to play & get an education, this isn't the friggin' NFL & your blind if you think Cally will get you there. If you don't like it leave or decommit. I'm sick of the flippin' whining. I watched a beat up GPAC team today (that is on the real short end of a win loss record) knock the crap out of people! Why? Cus' they got heart and they have no thoughts about being a superstar going to the damn NFL!
  2. I'll say one thing, there's no F'ing way Cosgrove should be allowed to "clock in" tomorrow. I would catch him right at the bus & tell him to pack his crap. That was embarrasing today, probably the lowest point ever in Husker football (not including tragedies). Anyone with any common sense know's the coaches are now just hurting themselves & their chances at a decent job after their gone....the only honorable thing to do now is quit and state that they were sorry it didn't work out. By the way, I no longer have any sympothy for the defensive players-NONE! You have managed to be the worst Husker defense in over 50 years! Pathetic! Anyone who thinks Osborne isn't "posturing" the future with potential new coaches has their head in the clouds, I only hope doing the honorable thing wasn't the wrong thing. At this point I don't care about honor, these clowns aren't doing their job and should be fired immediately...same thing happens everyday of the week out in the workforce...what's the flippin' difference! Last thought, Watson will be gone as well. Everything & everyone associated with this staff will be vanquished and you can thank Cally & Coz for that. The blowouts just sealed everyones fate. PATHETIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Hopefully someone hasn't already posted this story from the Crete News (a couple weeks old). It's a good read & does a good job summing up how most of us feel. Dear Former Husker Fans......Comparing the 2007 Huskers to the Titanic has some validity but in hindsight, at least the Titanic had "Some" survivors .Wow......for the next 20 years, when you "Google" asswhuppin, it's going to re- direct you to the 2007 nightmare in Missouri. After that Fustercluck, the Huskers are ranked 96th in total Defense ....which is 10 spots lower than Baylor and 52 spots below the Cyclones. But at least in scoring defense, we rally to 75th.....2 spots below 1 and 5...Notre Dame...... Where is Craig Bohl when you need him? Since 1943, Nebraska's Defense has only surrendered 40 points, 3x in a season......4 times. And now, the spanky bros, Elmo and Cos have managed to give up 40 in...... 3 of their last 4.....games. From the 1st snap to the last, Mizzou "Took what they wanted...when they wanted it". If you think that we suk now.....just wait until next year when the last 10 of Solich recruited starters are gone and hired gun Sam Keller has moved on to become an assistant coach at Dana. When is it that a 4 or 5 star recruit is even going to play at the level of a Pat Ricketts or Darrhan Diedrick? We've got 2.... 3 star backs on the sideline from Texas that can run thru brick walls and Yet we continue to play a 5 star recruit from California who has yet to break a tackle in 3 years? Sam Keller has to lick his finger and hold it up in the air each play to see which way the wind is blowing so that our IB can run "With" the wind rather than be tackled by it. We make every opposing QB look like a Heisman trophy candidate and after giving up 600 yds plus again last night, we are now statistically and physically the worst defense to wear the "Blackshirts" for at least 64 years. I am not sure if they even wore helmets 64 years ago. Rumor has it that Cosgrove gets $20,000 per year from every other Big 12 Head Coach.....if he STAYS at Nebraska. We ran a 3-3-5 but with Cos at the control, we could have played a 5-5-5 and had 4 extra guys on the field and not stopped them. What Moron would believe that a shiiity Defensive specialist from Cheesecountry with 14 years of below average stats could come to Lincoln and all of a sudden ....grow a brain.? This is one of those......It didn't LOOK like a good hire.....It didn't SMELL like a good hire....and 4 years down the road.......He still has less ability to fire up his defense than Ted Kennedy has to teach Drivers Ed. If you're a betting man, it's a safer bet to have a heart transplant done by an Internet trained heart surgeon than it would be to believe that Kevin Cosbohl will ever inspire a defense to be equal to Bo Pelini's. And Cally, you offensive genius you, Way to design an offense to put up 2 field goals on the 93rd rated "D" in the country. 5 years ago when you suggested that your Oakland Raiders were the "Dumbest Team in America", I was hoping that your slip of the tongue, and the OU fricking hillbillies and the Throat slash were all just signs of immaturity.........I was wrong. They were signs of tunnel vision and a school zone speed limit IQ. You are an absolutely fabulous recruiter but right now, there isn't one coach in the Big 12 that Husker Nation "Wouldn't" trade you for. Each week during the off season, the papers would sing with headlines such as..."Callahan signs "Jesus" to play QB for the Huskers in 2008" and then when 2008 comes, for some reason, Jesus isn't good enough to play as a freshmen. He is good enough to start as a frosh at USC, Oklahoma or Texas but it appears that you need a couple of years to develop him into Simon, the netless fisherman. I have been asked by Steve Pederson several times....Are you "N"...... His fund raising nightmare that hit a brickwall at $31 million, 62% of the way to the $50 million goal. And now, last week, the man responsible for most of the big money donations, Paul Meyers, resigns. The cloak of Goatshiiit just keeps getting deeper and deeper. Well Steve, I am starting my own little public service campaign and it is sure to raise a boatload of cash....Quickly. It is called..."Count me "N" if it helps to get DWP and Cally...OUT". Put Tom Osborne in charge of it and you could pay off the last $19 million before the pumpkins are carved at Halloween. That Shipwreck last night falls squarely on DWP's spineless shoulders. That arrogant little wimp with the veneer smile wanted to leave "His" imprint on Husker Football and now he has certainly fulfilled his wish. There are about 800,000 Nebraskans who really want to say...."I told you So" but we Won't....... 9 and 3, 10 and 2 and 11 and 1 seasons just didn't happen because we had an "N" on our helmet. They happened because "WE WERE NEBRASKA" . If you thought Nebraska Football was all about recruiting the best Football players for 40 years, then Steve, you don't know jack! But most of us.....already knew that. Maybe Steve should go back and read Tom Osbornes books "On Solid Ground" and "More Than Winning". I know that's not how you did it at Pitt and Tennessee and Ohio State but that's what 1.7 million Nebraskans expect, respect and appreciate..........So Steve.....Count me "N"....if you "R" out.......... From the decaying bowels of Huskerville.....GFL
  4. Here's his post from a couple days ago: ***By the way, give the guy a break*** I Bleed RED post Yesterday, 10:25 PM QUOTE Similar to what I heard this week and I posted on another thread. I was told that the group of people who want Callahan gone are getting over ruled by TO. He said to them he does not want to fire him mid-season if he can avoid it. Source also said that Cally has dug his heels in the sand about the buyout and other coaches are taking a more active role in the team and recruiting. The buyout is STILL being negotiated. Also, the 2 weeks statement I said if we are embarrassed and I am impressed that we played well. TO is firm on 2 things: We are underdogs here on out so there isn't much to gain now at firing Cally. AND Cally is fired immediately after the season (already decided) and he wants Bo Pelini as his first choice with Watson to stay on board. I am not sure if anything else will happen the rest of the year but it appears that TO has said let's evaluate the players and assistants outside of the line coaches and Cosgrove. Not much info, but TO has calmed the boosters who initially wanted PUD and Cally gone 2 weeks ago.
  5. That's a good analogy. I was the same way, how can you ever root for your team to lose...I argued with my bro-in-law for hours before the season ever started on this subject. He's as bigga Husker fan as I've ever met. We both wanted Cally gone that was a given BUT his point was we need to lose a few (unfortunately) to quicken the process and make it inevitable. He didn't want a 8-4 7-5 season and hear again how were still building. This has to be fixed w/o a doubt and it's painful for everyone involved but we'll get there! I think for some people they need this to happen (Cally fired) literally before they can feel optimistic again---almost a trust thing.
  6. I believe 100% this deal is done & in the lawyers hands. I trust Tom and give him all my support but I'm not naive enough to think there's not alot going on behind the scenes. I mean really guys, in your heart of hearts do you really think he has a chance in hell to be here next year? NOPE! Once this buyout stuff is settled he'll walk, whether it'd be this Sunday or after Colorado. Another thought, sometimes you have to take 2 steps back in order to take 5 steps forward (or something like that). For what it's worth anyway.
  7. C'mon guys, It's all in good fun. It's Better than another Duncan rumor report from the mens can.
  8. There's a ton of rumors floating around about former huskers coming back in some shape or form, what do ya think? Good...bad...or indifferent? I have one former Husker that'd I'd love see come home: Coach Kevin Kopecky Former Husker player in the 80's Head coach @ St. Thomas Aquinas High School Overland Park KS Former head coach @ David City High & Ralston Many time district champ & state playoff qualifier etc... Was head coach for some notables: Lance Brandenburgh Nebraska Kyler Reed (recruit) Nebraska Brian Smith Notre Dame Drake Dunsmore Northwestern Mark Fox Pitt Mike Heins Nebraska **I'm sure there's numerous others but these are a few I remember** I'm proud to say I played for coach Kopecky many years ago. He coached with more intensity & passion than anyone I ever played for (including college). He's been coaching high school for over 20 years so maybe he's content, who knows, all I know for sure was I woulda stuck my head through a locker for the guy!
  9. That just makes my blood boil, seeing pud with that stupid arse smug on his face. From the end of that game to right now has been dark times and should be erased from the record books. Those kids loved Bo and your right...they'd have ran through walls for the guy! WE WANT BO! WE WANT BO! WE WANT BO!
  10. This offense in 2007 has got to be near the top in worst offenses ever in Cornhusker history. They should take part of the blame for the defense getting hammered like they have. I just don't think you could make it suffer anymore than it already does. I'll take a great defense any day and twice on Sundays!
  11. 49-7 Texas, honestly I think it could be much uglier but they'll show alittle respect to a Big 12 foe. I din't think we could "meltdown" anymore than we have already but instict says this could be bad...I hope not BUT I don't wear rose colored glasses either.
  12. ESPN 1620 mentioned Richt's name yesterday, I think that's where this came from. He spent just a "blink" of his life in Nebraska, yeah he has family in Omaha but that's about the only ties. He's a good coach no doubt but I'd give it a 100-1 chance he'd even give it a sniff.
  13. GREAT! I'm a Rams fan! I musta' pissed off the big guy upstairs in a previous life. Oh well.....
  14. I respect your opinions as well although disagree 100% Some people accept change better than others I guess....make sure you report back to this thread Saturday night after the UT game, I'll be curious if any opinions change.
  15. He needs to resign or better yet, fire his butt now! As someone said on another topic, he's a cancer and must be dealt with swiftly. The whole things just a damn mess.
  16. Irregardless of the mess were in right now, I never liked him as a NFL coach and thought he was a poor choice 4 years ago. If you just watched closely as he put his staff together (and who he was showing the door) it was all about the good ol' boy system...who he owed a favor to, who stroked him in the past, who his friends were etc....everyone was tied to him in some way shape or form! I'm sure he's probably a good human being & probably a pretty good dad but I can't stand him as a head coach.
  17. They were joking around about the rumor mill. I think were all just super anxious to find closure with Callahan & Co. It's all about semantics at this point & were just waiting for that to be worked out. I don't see it happening before Colorado (as much as I hate to say it) BUT I believe 100% without a doubt that Cally is gone & I think that's what we all want anyway.
  18. Thanks IBR! We want Bo! We want Bo! We want Bo!
  19. Oh PLEASE! But then again, he did out coach the Great Cally today!
  20. na na na na , na na na na hey hey hey gooood bye! :asshat
