T Ndamukong Suh, Nebraska
Buzz: A finalist and probably the favorite for all the major defensive awards, Suh has a shot at the Heisman, too. He has posted an amazing 82 tackles, with 12 sacks, 23 tackles for loss and 11 passes defended. He blocked three kicks, too.
CB Prince Amukamara, Nebraska
Buzz: He ranks 11th in the nation with 16 passes defended. That includes five interceptions. He also has made 61 tackles.
SS Larry Asante, Nebraska
Buzz: Well-known as a punishing hitter, Asante has posted 76 tackles and forced two fumbles. He also has two interceptions.
K Alex Henery, Nebraska
Buzz: Henery has made 20-of-24 field-goal attempts, including eight from at least 40 yards. His longest is a 52-yarder. Three of his misses were from at least 50 yards.
SECOND TEAM
RB Roy Helu, Nebraska
T Jared Crick, Nebraska
Crick ought to be First Team next year, and if Helu gets a healthy line in front of him he could challenge for First Team, too.
