  1. I have never heard of this stipulation. Is this true or are you speculating?
  2. Exactly. Where is the credibility in a vote like that? I'm cool with McCoy winning. He met his personal Armageddon Saturday, but aside from that game (which he won), he had a decent season. And while I don't like the concept of "body of work," his career at Texas should earn him some praise. He's a worthy winner. I'm cool with Gerhart. He's had a great season and he's got the numbers. His team has moxie and they've had some pretty big wins. He's a worthy winner. I'm cool with CJ Spiller winning. He plays on a weaker team in a quirky conference, but you cannot deny his ability and his impact on a game. He had a pretty dismal couple of outings to end the season, but he's bona fide. He won't even get invited, though, which is a crime. I would be livid if Tebow, Ingram, Clausen or Moore won. Ingram has earned an invitation to the ceremony, but none of the others have. Bottom line - Ndamukong Suh is the best player in college football, and he should win this trophy if it stands for what they claim it stands for.
  3. Well, his stats this year aren't nearly Heisman-like, and that's what should sway it. But if this is what it takes, I'm cool with that.
  4. He should win. He probably will not win. He had damned well better get an invite to New York.
  5. You really don't see the difference between holding their offense in check and holding our offense in check?
  6. You're being incredibly myopic. There have been a minimum of a dozen threads about the poor behavior of our fans this year on this board. There have been dozens of posters, myself included, chastising our fans for acting like asshats. Choosing to ignore that is beneath you. If you're going to pretend that the behavior on Tiger Board is better than here in these circumstances (last season's endgame comes to mind) then we're done. The spate of childishness meltdowns that overtook that board for a month overshadows this by miles. The behavior of Tiger Fan this season when we played overshadows this by miles. Your expectations of prim and proper behavior by fans of a team who just lost a conference championship by one second against a heavily favored opponent within 48 hours of that loss are unrealistic in the extreme. There hasn't been a fan base in the history of organized sport that would take a loss like this without some angst. Get over yourself.
  7. That's not the problem. The problem is that Gerhart is pretty much everyone's #2, while Suh is either getting first place votes or really no votes. Gerhart has has 15 #2 & #3 votes. Suh has 8. That's where he'll lose it.
  8. You do realize we can read Tiger Board if we choose, right? There's no way you're going to get anyone here to believe that. I have eyes. I don't buy that claim for a second. As for "better than that," what does that mean? Do you expect every fan of Nebraska to conform to some preconceived sense of decency you have? You're dreaming, man.
  9. Not on the subject of the CCG, but have you ever seen as many badly blown calls across the landscape of the Big XII as you've seen this year? Ignoring the CCG, this has been, in my opinion, the worst-called season of football by the zebras I've ever seen. Missed calls, calls gotten flat wrong, misuse of replay, replay "confirming" calls that were wrong... it's been bad.
  10. I was there, I saw with my own eyes... its ridiculous that we generate millions for a conference that allows cheating and then we are expected to eat sh*t?! NO WAY!! I am not budging on this, we got robbed! Everyone else saw it, too. Nobody else is behaving the way you're behaving. There's a difference between being justifiably upset (which we all are) and acting like a buffoon. Learn the difference and stop this nonsense.
  11. Because it's a really close race this year without a clear-cut winner from an Offensive position, and they're so unused/uncomfortable with voting for a defensive player that they're willing to let the fans have a vote.
  12. bern, I think everyone will agree that Texas' D is pretty good. Don't take what we're saying as disrespect against your D. The reality is (and this is my real point) that both your D and our O share responsibility for those 106 yards. To which degree either side holds responsibility is all that's up for debate. I'd say 50/50, some would disagree. Hard to say who's right.
  13. This is what will happen on today's show: There's no way for Cowherd to lose here. This gives him something else to talk about, and none of it has any real impact. It's just blather.
  14. Get ahold of yourself. Stop acting like a child.
  15. I'm curious. Is a muffed kickoff (no initial possession) different from fumbling a ball when possession was clearly established? I don't think so. I think the refs simply blew that call. Just another in an avalanche of missed calls all season long throughout the Big 12.
  16. Fair enough. But the point that this has little impact up here in Nebraska remains.
  17. Boiling this down, you're saying our O sucks. You'll get no argument here. But that calls into question the "accomplishment" of holding us to 106 yards, you'd have to agree. Think about it - when is the last time you saw an offense as inept as ours? If this was your first time watching our offense this year you're basing your opinion on too little information. We were horrid against most of our schedule, including the likes of K-State, Iowa State, Missouri, and Oklahoma. Only one of those teams even has an adequate defense. Yes, Texas put the clamps on the Nebraska offense. But that's hardly an exclusive club.
  18. It's not a "dig". It's a truism - an axoim as old as time. They have the ultimate case of little man syndrome and proudly show their ass at every opportunity. Boycott is practically their school's rallying cry. The difference being that we didn't "show our ass" in this game. Barring a questionable last-second play, we win.
  19. I have no problem rooting for Texas. Here's who I'll be pulling for in these games (in bold): Independence Bowl Texas A&M vs. Georgia Holiday Bowl Nebraska vs. Arizona Sun Bowl Oklahoma vs. Stanford Texas Bowl Missouri vs. Navy Insight.com Bowl Minnesota vs. Iowa State Cotton Bowl Oklahoma St. vs. Mississippi Alamo Bowl Michigan St. vs. Texas Tech BCS Mythical National Championship Game Alabama vs. Texas Personal opinion - I hope we sweep all eight bowl games. My team looks like crap if it plays in a weak conference. My team looks much better if it plays in a strong conference. Conference strength perception is based in part on post-season wins. Rooting for Big XII teams in their bowl games is purely self-serving.
  20. FYI - we don't know or really care about your biases against A&M, so this isn't much of a dig at us. If you really wanted to make your point you would have said, "This is the very essence of (Colorado) Buffalo." The UT/A&M rivalry stuff just doesn't translate on our board. Sorry.
  21. "The Cornhuskers (9-4) had only 106 total yards, their lowest total in 25 years." http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recap?gid=200912050023 I undertsand that your O had its issues this year, but I don't think you are giving the Texas D much credit for stonewalling you in the CCG. No one else this year managed to do what Texas did - even when Helu & Burkhead were dinged up. It's all about the points. You gave up 12 points to us, more than Oklahoma or Iowa State gave up, and we played both at home. In your home turf, with home-field advantage, you should have been able to hold an offense this inept to three or six points. We scored only five points less against you than we scored against K-State and only three points less than we scored against VT.
  22. We don't have to blame anyone but ourselves for this loss. 106 yards of offense. That is why we lost this game. First and goal from the 10 yard line, three points scored. Six first downs. Stop blaming the BCS or the officials. It starts and ends with us. We have enough integrity for that, don't we?
  23. Someone needs to clue Texas Fan in to how bad our offense is. We held us to 106 yards as much as they did.
  24. Can we all just calm down a little? We've had a few Texas fans come over to congratulate us on the defense's great game and all we're doing is griping at them. What are these guys supposed to say? Imagine what you would say to a Texas fan if that second hadn't been put back on the clock, and treat these guys as you would want to be treated. You'd be gracious, you'd say it was the right call, you'd compliment them on their season and wish them luck in the bowl game. That's all these guys are doing, but we keep getting our hackles up and sniping at them. Let's all take a step back, OK?
