  1. He is right! Unfortunately, he is a true freshman and won't be playing this season.
  2. Somehow I expected to see dates from Dec 2009 on these posts.
  3. A&M took Beebe at his word, what could go wrong?
  4. Most of all, I would like to see someone with leadership abilities under center. Sure you need to be able to throw the ball, but if you are throwing to the open receiver, it's not that hard. You don't have to be Peyton Manning to succeed in college. The guy from lat year, what's his name...Lee, he wasn't a leader. Oh, and he couldn't run worth a damn, save for playing against Arizona's hungover defense in the Holiday Bowl.
  5. I'd be happy with any win in Stillwater.
  6. What position does this Beebe play? Soon to be moved. Always wanted to do that.
  7. For one game or the season? If it's for the season, get me 100 of them. I once paid $265 per for a single game once, fifteen years ago. Didn't want to miss seeing the ol' ball coach throw his visor all over Sun Devil stadium.
  8. If the part about them being able to play immediately is true, that is nice. Be a good citizen, decide you want to move back home to a different school, within your conference, to be closer to a sick mother, for instance, and sit-out a year. If you have already redshirted, lose a year of eligibility. On the other hand, commit what could have been charged as a felony criminal act, and go to a school within the conference and be eligible immediately!
  9. Fort Scott isn't OUR farm team, even though one might think so from recent recruiting But, there is still no guarantee we get him back if he goes JUCO. I didn't say IT was. I would love to have him at NU this fall. All I'm saying is, if he did not qualify, I would rather have him at a school we have a relationship with the school and coach than him going where we've never recruited before. Capiche?
  10. The effect of the disciplinary action will go a lot further than having that kind of guy on the team would.
  11. This is why Huskerboard is so great. Ask and you shall receive.
  12. DB saw Lee at quarterback last year, just like everyone else did. Why should you be surprised?
  13. Yeah, we are fine. It's not like kids are flashing fat stacks of cash and buying other people's groceries for 'em. Now that would be trouble!
  14. MotoGP at Laguna Seca this weekend.
  15. I believe some of this is a popularity contest. Which one of these coaches would the average fan want to have a beer with and spend some time chatting. It has nothing to do with being a better coach, but Bobby is more like your favorite Grandpa type.
  16. With the guys we have in front of him, not very far. The guys who are coming in are the ones I'm excited about. I'm just hoping someone surfaces that is better than the Lee I saw last year. Yes the Oline is the most important piece of the puzzle offensively, but why settle for mediocrity at qb. That's right, I said the "m" word.
  17. I was around for that one, but living on the east coast I was limited to waiting for Dave Diles on the Prudential scoreboard show to find out what happened. Talk about great comebacks, how about NU-KU (believe it was '84) in Lawrence. Came back from like 4 td's down. No not Nebraska. I was following the Miami blowout of Maryland on the Jayhawks scoreboard. Miami was up huge and then, everytime the score was posted, it seemed like Maryland scored another 7. They still show that one on ESPN classic regularly. I believe Frank Reich had to play for Boomer Esiason that day.
  18. This is probably out of our hands. In our state newspapers we will continue with NU, but the rest of our big ten brethren will do whatever the Big 10 network or some writer for the Chicago Tribune does. We will find out for sure by the time we play Northwestern. If they refer to us as something we don't like, we can complain, but it might not do any good. I was sitting in a production meeting before an LSU vs Ole Miss game and the reps from LSU insisted that they not be referred to as the Bayou Bengals by ABC during the broadcast. ESPN, owned by ABC, still does it - all of the time. Another reason
  19. Citi blew all of its money on naming rights to the new Mets stadium. How they figured 53,000 puerto ricans with $1.75 each in disposable income was a better deal than 100,000 rich USC and Buckeye alums, I'll never know. Seriously though, I love the Mets and puerto ricans!
  20. It would certainly be a different story if UT already had the network up and running than if they went into a new conference situation saying "oh, by the way, we will be starting our own tv network and be keeping the money.'' I think Tuberville is trying to get a better deal for his school by predicting the worst case scenario. Maybe he thinks UT will lob them a bone if it meant saving the conference. I say Tommy Tuberville doesn't fully understand the University of Texas very well yet.
  21. Also, playing them like it was settling something would legitimize their '97 argument, when actually, they had none. We were better!
  22. Welcome Niklas! I believe J Congdon was the second rated kicker his SR year also. The 57 yarder definitely shows some leg strength, something Congdon didn't have. Doesn't Burke have any soccer players who can kick a football this year?
