  1. Well you know where Boras is going to push, he might be THE factor in Bubba's decision. That guy "shows them the money". It will be a gamble either way Bubba chooses, but the decision watch will be fun to follow and will be happy with whatever he goes with. What a great situation to be in at 18.
  2. burnouts?? Mhmmm Better this than some crap ass bands like Nickleback, Creed, or some pop group Don't flame me too hard for this but give Creed some props, although their front man is a douche and has absolutely zero voice talent left the rest of that band can play and Mark Tremonti can absolutely shred a guitar. if Creed sucked any harder, they'd be Hanson ...and Nickleback would be the Jonas Brothers! Anyone who is into Hard Rock/Metal would appreciate the Big 4, I would hope...
  3. 11 AM start would kind of stink for the tailgating...
  4. SWEET! Would be awesome to see the Big 4 at Yankee Stadium!
  5. My overall perspective is that people just do not have any respect or care anymore for simple traffic rules and safety. Very rarely do I see anyone use their blinkers or obey Yield and Stop signs. Accidents are never a good thing and some are just that "accidents", but sometimes applying the basic rules of how to drive can avoid these. They only thing I disagree with the Red Light cameras in Sioux City is that the fine is a little excessive, but that is in fact minor to the fact that there is a reason Sioux City has some of the highest car insurance rates in the area.
  6. Get the gear on, turn on GameDay and by 11 AM crack the first of many Miller Lite's and get the grill fired up.
  7. You know - it is funny. I don't mind so much when all of you put down Iowa. Yes it gets annoying but I kind of expect it since I am on your boards. But what REALLY bothers me? Stop putting Wisconsin with OSU, PSU and Michigan! Or start putting Iowa there also. Iowa and Wisconsin are essentially the same team! Going back in my hole now while I get trolled for this post. As far as the team that you will end up disliking their fans I would say probably Wisconsin (although we have some real asshats at the Iowa games also). good points, Wiscy and Iowa are pretty equal, they both can and will shake things up in the Big 10 from year to year.
  8. Iwould think installing "caution lights" that start blinking about 10 secs before the light changes would most definately help the red light runners and rear end collisions. Agreed, those lights are nice to have to avoid the awkward slamming on the brakes going 45 mph moment.
  9. There is a problem, those are some of the most busiest intersections, that is why the camera's are there. I do agree though since the addition of the cameras I see more people hammer on the brakes and nearly get rear ended. A couple of these intersections are where the speed limit is 35 or 45 mph so when people see the yellow they hammer on the brakes to avoid the ticket. It would be interesting on how many people who ran the red lights when it was not snowing out were on cell phones...
  10. I had to laugh at this since I have to drive amongst these people everyday. I witness a near accident almost everyday in this town.
  11. This is a great moment in American History, but lets not forget the sacrifices of our troops and their families for this long and still on going battle against terror.

  12. Good for him I wonder how many HB members will be saying to themselves "who the hell is Mickey Joseph?"
  13. I would tend to agree. Unless the Tea Partiers suddenly get much more organized they're not going to have their own viable candidate, so they'll likely just revert to form and trend Republican. While it's early, I see nobody even remotely viable on the Republican side. 2012 has Dukakis/Dole written all over it. Incumbent is affable, and although vulnerable, there isn't anyone on the other side capable of exploiting the vulnerability. People think that just because President _________ has done unpopular things that he won't be reelected, but Reagan, Clinton and Bush II all proved that wrong. Agreed I would take another dose of Obama before I would even utter the words President Trump
  14. I'm a HUGE Godsmack fan and I had to sit up close so my seats were amazing. I could hear Godsmack perfectly but Metallica was a hit and miss on some songs. Loved how the stage was rotating though. Surprised you hated this concert I couldn't hear them that well. I'm deaf in my left ear and we were on the very top so those could've been the problem but not too many people that I know of enjoy rock concerts at the Orpheum because Rock concerts weren't built for the acoustics at the Orpheum. I enjoyed the Godsmack show because they're my favorite band but some of their songs were hard to hear at times. My wife was in choir for Briar Cliff and she hated singing at the Orpheum because of the acoustics. not so much as hated the concert as to the fact that I should not be able to have a normal conversation with the person next to me while Metallica is on stage. I can see what you mean about the acoustics at the Orpheum, I was lucky to be pretty close to the stage for both shows so the sound was pretty good from there.
  15. You didn't like Staind at the Orpheum? I thought it was a good show, Theory of a Deadman was sweet. Orpheum is a great place to see concerts and wish SC would have more band there.

Metallica and Godsmack- Qwest Center Omaha (love both bands, but hate that Qwest Center is seating and our seats sucked) 2004? 4. Bush w/ Veruca Salt - Hilton Coliseum Ames IA ( same as above Hilton ref. then add Veruca Salt) 1997 5. John Mellencamp -Mid American Center Council Bluffs IA 2002
  17. One day, in a scrimmage, in August, made Taylor the starter. Before that, he was the 3rd QB on the team. He has. It wasn't just the spring game where Brion has looked like the best QB on our team. ....and you know all of this how?
  18. I was not at the Spring game, nor did I listen to it, but just from what I am reading sounds like Carnes had a good day, for a scrimmage... I am not going to buy into the hype just b/c he played better than Cody and Taylor for 1 day. Unless he has been kicking their butts all spring, I still see this as the Taylor and Cody show unless they both forget how to put on their helmets come fall. If Carnes is all he is cracked up to be then we will wait to see who steps out on to the field the starter for the first game just like last year.
  19. Well I guess being Fat, drunk and lazy is a way to get through life... edit: haven't watched Animal House in awhile so not sure if my quote is correct!
