  1. Taylor played as complete of a game against tOSU as we've seen him play yet. I think Taylor needs to throw the ball 20ish times a games, with a couple long balls to stretch the field. Whay baffles me is that TM had over 100 yards and it seemed there were very few plays that were designed runs for him. It's no secret he is not a pure passer, it is also no secret he is a fenom of a runner. Why not utilize that a little more? i.e. Dennard
  2. The most encouraging thing from Beck for me was, he wasn't afraid to junk the stuff our kids struggled to execute against Wiscy for tOSU game. No doubt that stuff is not gone forever, but I believe after playing the Badgers that he a most better idea of what we can do when we are under pressure. Defensively, I admit I called BS with the whole statement by Carl about overcoaching, but I need to retract that statement. I believe what we saw in the second half of tOSU is our kids finally started just playing the game, and not trying to run the defensive schemes. I think they went onto the field to have fun and trust their instincts and coaching.
  3. @Minnesota = W It's Minnesota enough said Michigan St = W They have Michigan and Wiscy before coming to Lincoln. They'll be completely deflated by the time they show up. Northwestern = W They are a good team until half time. If tOSU defense wore down the the second half against us, the Wildcats better score 60 in the first half to make a game of it! @Penn State = W The Nittany Lions have no offense aside from Indiana State(41) and Eastern Mich(34) their largest point total was 16 and that was against Indiana, heck they only managed to score 14 against Temple. Their D is stout, but they can't score against anyone. Maher will win this game for us. @Michigan = W They play @Iowa and @Illinois before the Big Red rolls into Ann Arbor. This does follow @Penn State for the Huskers, but I just have a feeling that with the addition of SJB to the secondary they will be ready to man up, load the box, and let Dennard try and beat us with his arm. Although DR has been impressive with his feet, his throws are more of a jump ball than Taylor's. We get at least 3 picks, we we won't roll over like Northwestern did against the Wolverines! Iowa = W The Hawks will probably be playing for bowl eligibility in this one, so they'll bring a ton of heart. This is the border war that will be a slobber-knocker every year. This year the Hawks go down swinging, but they do go down! Bring on Indy and the CCG! Illinois = W, Wiscy = a better performance than October 1!
  4. I love where Taylor's head is at! The kid gets up for these kind of games. Thursday night at K-State everyone's watching he blows them up, Okie Light prime time everyone's watching and he blows them up too. Fact of the matter is he loves the big stage, and when he's healthy, watch out! Can't wait for Saturday!
  5. During the CU game, one of my buddies asked me if I thought Alex Henery should come out after this season. I would really hate to see it, but if he doesn't get the bounces next year could that hurt his status? I hope he stays, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him at least test the waters. Thoughts?
  6. Who have the Huskers beaten this year that's any good? Nobody that's who. And don't tell me Oklahoma because they stink up the field. The Huskers have NOT beaten 1 Single team in the top 25. NOT 1. That is why 9 wins does not mean Jack. If we where 11-0 you could probably make the same argument because VT fell off the map after beating Miami, TT is terribly inconsistent, and ISU is still ISU. So this argument does not hold water in this discussion.
  7. How much of this has to do with the benching of Reesing?
  8. No doubt they (and we) will all be watching, just to see what kind of bad a$$ coach we actually hired. IMO that this is a huge high risk/high reward game for Bo. If he kicks butt he gets everyone behind him even more than they already are. If he does not, he starts his career at NU with a big ? over his head.
  9. "It was quite a Monday evening for Ames, Iowa tight end Ben Cotton. Finding out about his father joining the Nebraska football staff under new head coach Bo Pelini wasn't the only big thing going on. The 6-foot-6, 217-pound Louisville commit also received a call from the new Huskers head coach and found out he was being offered a scholarship. From there, Cotton made a new decision." Sounds to me that Barney was hired on Monday. Why no announcement? Are they waiting to introduced the entire staff as a whole?
  10. Don't look for us to be stuck with the WCO, you will see some, but you will also see some option, some power I, some spread, etc. Understand our coach is the best DC in the biz. He knows what fashions of every style of O are the toughest to defend. That is what we'll run. Only the plays/formations that people struggle to defend. It will be extremely unpredictable, Bo change D philosophies every week, he known for it, he will also demand it on the O side of the ball as well. The non-carbon copy strategies he has used week in and week out of his career is exactly what will make us so hard to play next year. Bo = Excitement
  11. I think our 3 toughest games next year will be - Virg Tech - should win Bo is familiar with this team. Nearly shut them out this year. Oklahoma - Iowa State - They just keep getting better, they will be the competing with us next year for the B12. This will be the tie breaker game.
  12. OK here it is - San Jose St - W New Mexico St - W Virg Tech - 50/50 - Simply because our coach nearly shut them down this year. West Mich - W Missouri - W - Because they are all O, I really think we could've competed with them better this year if we had been playing with heart. @ Tex Tech - W - I believe our D next year will be fierce and TT can't play D @ Iowa St. - 50/50 - I think they are really a sleeper next year. This will be a tough game. More like 75/25 W Baylor - W @ Oklahoma - 50/50 - Probably a loss, but look out I think Bo wants this REALLY bad. Kansas - 50/50 - I think we actually could've beat them this year if we had even an average D. @ Kansas State - W - And a big win I know Snyder is gone, but its payback for Bo. Colorado - W - Tough game however There's my prediction 8 for sure wins 4 50/50, and I say we win at least 2 of those. 10 wins plus the Bowl. There you go pick it apart.
  13. Maybe I am being really optimistic here, but I would like to add the fact that our head coach coached a Defense this year that completely shut down a VTech team. He also coached under Bob Stoops so he knows how BS thinks/plans/ and developes his strategies. I know our D does have the talent LSU does this year, but I can't help but think that this has to help us going into these 2 games next year. Arguably our 2 toughest opponents next year.
  14. This may be a dead spot for recruiting for all the schools who are preparing themselves for a bowl game, however, I think it would be a great time for a brand new coach at a struggling school to get out and talk with recruits.
  15. Unfortunately I think the human polls would put USC there. I hope not - but...
  16. Who honestly cares? Does it make any difference what so ever? Does it make his avatar any stronger? What exactly does he get for being right? Who Cares!!!
  17. My favorite part of that speech was " It's his dream job". java script:emoticon('', 'smid_42')
  18. There D won that game. The D was in the endzone as much as the O.
  19. Yeah - I noticed that as well. It was also nice to see the D won that game for them. Now maybe all of the people saying Pellini cost them their shot at the NC are eating their words a little. Do you suppose any of them still want to help him pack. Welcome Bo - GO BIG RED
