  1. These schools are laying in wait and ready to even go after the no-stars that we are rooting out and offering now. Could be wrong, but from reading the rrs article where he states "he probably won't commit to NU if offered" even though he doesn't have any other offers, leads me to believe he could be yet another of those recruits who uses NU to garner national or big 10 interest/offers from other schools and then immediately dumps NU when those offers are forth coming. This when he specifically states he wouldn't commit on an NU visit because he needs to explore other options--well he doesn't have any options... yet. If it looks a skunk, walks like a skunk and smells like a skunk (Kuli, K. Jonson, Domicone, etc) --then it's probably a skunk. Maybe NU needs to wait until the last weekend before signing day to give visits and offers to these types of "unknown players" instead of doing all the legwork to root them out for the Oregons, Ohio States, CUs, etc.
  2. Recruiting definately needs to be changed--some of these "commits" for too long have been USING NU to catch a free ride in order to garner more interest from their preferred school or to scare up more interest ala Zach Domicone or Simi Kuli.
  3. When he started to talk about the possibilities about wanting to stay closer to home, even though he was committed to NU and was 75% IN, I figured he was 99% gone at that point--just another slow play--solong, see ya and have a nice rest of your life.
  4. So long......see ya.......have a nice rest of your life..........BIG RED!!!
  5. rss is mum on this and on other things--therefore IMHO it's a waste of $99/yr to not get inside info and to get the same info on another board the next day. It is what it is.
  6. To petition the NCAA to investigate USC, bring up the NCAA mainpage and go to contacts. Thank you.
  7. I agree. I'm really starting to hate them. These guys are easy to hate. 1. They are located in Glitz-ville. 2. Its easy to recruit when you can run HS kids up to the PB Mansion to meet Hef and his stable. 3. All of ESPN has its nose planted squarely in a trojan's butt. >>>T_O_B And what are the chances of NU or any other team with two losses to 4-8 and 9-4 teams and two victories over two teams in the bottom half of the final top 25 being ranked #2 or #3 in the final polls? So what if they're one of the finest teams ever put together on paper.....I thought it was the results on the field the mattered, not the hype.
  8. At this point in time it looks like the NCAA is a lot less interested in it than Yahoo Sports is. Besides, all of Yahoo Sports findings and documents would probably be considered "inadmissable evidence" by the NCAA.
  9. Wouldn't it be nice.............to see a full blown investigation of the U$C football program by the NCAA. Would they do it or is it a "hands off" policy when it comes to the Trojans since they are one of the linchpins of money flow from a big market area?
  10. IMHO, the koolaid sipping command post has lost credibility (preferred treatment with BC?) but it's still a nice place to go if you like getting pimped by Mr. tophat and the "know-it-alls". The early season BC nonbelievers were castigated and many of the best posters quit. Now negativity abounds and board trolls comb posts daily looking for pimping opportunities. These people were long ago outed but it continues. Sorry, but after 4 years not worth my $99 a yr.
  11. I never did because no one keeps their word anymore. Signing day just needs to get here. I think it's less about keeping their word and more about committing and then the university fires the coach you committed to play for. Nebraska changed the ground rules. Not too many kids de-commit when the coaching staff remains stable. And these de-commits start to have a snowball effect.... Compton was pals with Gabbert and Jonas Gray, and they left. I expect Compton to stay at home in Missouri. If not, Champaign/Urbana isn't too far from his home. (Mizzou also got a committment today from Wes Kemp - WR from St. Louis who had previously committed to Wisconsin and a teammate, Munir Prince - RB/CB who's transferring from Notre Dame to Mizzou and will play the 2009 season. Good day for Mizzou football.) Here's my problem with Gabbert. He commits to us and then calls all of these recruits and gets them interested in NU right. Then he goes and decommits from NU after all these other guys have commited and then proceeds to call them and try and lure them away from NU. That ruined his rep with me. I really do not understand this... you're ok if he recruits for you, but it ruins his character if he does it for someone else? Dude just wants other good players around him. Okay, well let me explain it for you. He commits to Nebraska and is high on us and starts calling all of these big time recruits and convinces them to either visit here or come here. Some of them commit and everything is okay. Callahan gets fired and Gabbert jumps ship right. Then he calls recruits that have already committed to NU and convinces them to decommit. That's dirty!!!!! The recruits he was calling when he committed to us weren't committed anywhere! They were still visiting places when he originally called them. What he did was crossing the line, you don't contact people that have already committed to a school like that and they committed because you told them how great it was. Then he goes and starts to say bad things about NU and gets them to decommit. We all know peer pressure is a bit*h and these kids feed off of one another. If he wanted to go to another school I'm cool with that, but I'm in no way cool with him contacting our recruits and pulling them away from us!!! All I can say about the gabbert shenannaggins is..........f. gabbert .
  12. Looks like it's down to ND and Missouri for Compton, with Illinois the darkhorse. It will be a surprise if he even visits NU--with all the signs pointing to a noshow this weekend.
  13. And now it looks like Compton to ND--I'm wondering if he'll even show for his NU visit this weekend. Once this rush for the exits started, I expected most of the remaining recruits on the fence would go too. This is the downside of the many recruits having formed bonds with each other and buying into the BC hype until it imploded by the sheer weight of its own BS. So let them go elsewhere, it may take longer to rebuild NU football, but it will be done from the ground up the right way and with dedicated individuals.
  14. I'm still expecting NU to lose at least 2 of the 3 soft commits on board. So be it, let the recruits with bc hangover go-- solong, farewell and may they have a nice rest of their life.
  15. Enough of TR--he's not a NU commit (and it's hard for me to even consider him a Nebraskan) but maybe more of a sneaky character.........like a gabbert.
  16. Right, although it was fun while it lasted (until they were outed) listening to the bc BS and Koolaid Sipping Command Posts BS (rss), we're getting back to an even keel and I'm not buying into that recruiting hype anymore. It's only an advantage if you're a Te$as or U$C and you've got every position covered 3 or 4 deep with 4 and 5 stars. This still doesn't quarantee success as they had 5 losses between them including a loss to lowly Stanford. U$C should be ranked by results not by their strength on paper--which would clearly rank them outside of the top five this past year. They only beat FOUR bowl teams and were made to look good by getting Illinois in the Rose Bowl. Contrast that schedule to LSUs (or NUs-- every team played except Iowa St and K St were bowl teams). Teams like U$C can easily become a bunch of hotdogs and me-first showboats that don't come together as a team and subsequently lose to the Stanfords and Oregons and barely beat the Washingtons and AZs. U$C was once again overhyped by ESPN and the sportswriters, some even predicting the '07 team to challege for the greatest team ever....what a joke.
  17. Could easily lose one of them but overall I'm also pleased with the ones that stayed and the new recruits. Goodbye to the namby-pamby bc "commits" .....and Oh, f. gabbert-- I can't wait for Bo's defense to take him down .
  18. So long, farewell, solong turncoat and have a nice rest of your life. We only want football players that want to play for NU and not bc....so good ridance...and Oh, you CAN be replaced!
  19. And I'll definately 2nd that, F......Gabbert. So long, farewell and have a nice rest of your life.
  20. Out with the "clunkers" that aren't solid and in with the ones that are. So long, farewell and have a nice life.
  21. Holy mother of... wow. That was SO good! All BC lovers (recruits) welcomed to leave: "short term pain for long term gain" for NU. Oh, and solong, farewell and see yah. :clap
  22. Karma can be a real beotch...so watch out!
  23. KU whips VaTech at it's own game and it's team and coaching that wins. Anyone else observe that lack of coverage and love for KU on ESPN post game compared to the U$C lovefest post Rose Bowl. Nice to see a team go "old school" and win instead of watching a team (U$C) composed primarily of overconfident hotdogs. Looking at the teams U$C lost to compared to the quality teams KU and MU lost to, U$C should not be ranked above either. Sadly, they are often ranked by their strength on paper rather than on the field.
  24. Why is Hawkins being elevated to the status of a god....his two year record at cu: 8-17......................8 - 17!
  25. And it seems that most of the dead weight/Callacruits are gone now and NU can get down to the business of filling some needs. I'm not saying that the decoms aren't good--it's just hard to get their heads straight again when they're brainwashed by BC and most likely planned to put the screws to NU right before the dead period to get even. Well, it's more about their lives and football future...so, so long and good luck except when you play NU. Karma will come into play, what goes around comes around.
