The guy is 42 now and I’m sure the past is water under the bridge. Kind of like when you think about some of the a- holes you knew in high school— they’re not so bad to chat with at the 25 year reunion. Scott has grown up, he’s been around the country, he’s held big jobs — his perspective of how things were in 1996 and 1997 have softened a bit I’m sure. If he does turn away from NU, then it will only be because of what he’s building at UCF and wants to see it through.

Yes. Bo Pelini was allowed to finish at LSU. While he wasn’t the head coach, he was still given time to prepare LSU for their championship game.

It’s all a waiting game. Even if Moos fired him tonight, over half the board would switch to posts about “omygosh when will the new coach be announced” as another week to 10 days or more pass on without an announcement of who the new coach is. Relax . It’ll happen.. or it won’t .

May the coverage be loose and Tanner Lee be sharp ! I want to see Riley dust off the playbook and go Callahan vs KSU crazy and light up the scoreboard. And at the end of it all, whether or not this is Riley’s farewell, I hope the stadium gives him a kind ovation as he exits the field.

I’m not sure about that, but win or lose, I expect a huge ovation from the North Stadium crowd as Coach Riley exits the field.

I think Leach would have the same success here that Pelini had. I think he would reach the 8-10 win plateau, but would struggle to win “the games that matter”.

Listening to things Frost says about UCF makes me think that he is staying. I’m not saying that he’ll never leave, but it just seems like he’s not ready to leave— like he wants to see how far he can take them. i get it.. they’re undefeated and can’t crack the top 10. It’s tough, if not impossible to win a national championship at UCF unless they are to move into a Power 5 conference. But if the money at UCF is now in the $4-4.5 million range, and he likes the proximity of the school with recruiting talent, and enjoys not having every move scrutinized, then he stays. Yes, he could dispel all the speculation by just saying whether he’s staying or not. I think he hasn’t because he’ll give the decision to leave a good, fair and thorough assessment when the time is right. And maybe Moos didn’t fire Riley earlier because he wanted to make sure his new hire was in the works first. And if he doesn’t get who he wants , he announces that Riley will be retained. ?? I hope I’m wrong!

I fly between Dallas and Omaha often as the company I work for has a location in each city. There’s multiple daily flights between the two cities... am I missing something?
