  1. @VectorVictor Or people (even some doctors, apparently) treat the HPV vaccine as something only girls need.
  2. If you're not drinking red Kool-Aid, can you really call yourself a Husker fan?
  3. HPV is a more common cause than tobacco these days.
  4. The formula itself is OK, though an adjustment for strength of schedule would definitely help. But the real problem here is the presentation. It shows a linear rank, rather than a score - it doesn't show ties/near-ties, or exactly how far one team is ahead of another. A scatter plot would be a much better way to present the data - one axis for recruiting level and another for performance level. Then you could see how far above or below a 1:1 'expectation based on talent' line a team is.
  5. Or lack thereof. Never understood why, for the most important position on the team, you wouldn't have an actual, dedicated QB coach. It's one thing to have your OC also coaching WRs or something, but I would think QBs would be first in line for a dedicated position coach.
  6. What @ColoradoHusk said. They, personally, probably would've been better off transferring. (To a school that isn't Oregon State, lol.) But I'm glad that they didn't.
  7. Yeah, the Davis twins that I've kinda felt might have been better off transferring. They're good, but they've been asked to do a lot that they aren't quite a fit for. Remember that they were originally Bo's recruits.
  8. It did seem to help T-Mart, at least. I still wonder what he could've been if we'd had an actual QB coach on the staff at the time.
  9. I think we need another moment to appreciate this arm.
  10. More positive about Illinois than I would've expected, although that bit about their defense is pretty damning.
  11. If you have to ask, the answer is no.
  12. I still like this take on a modern version of that George Sauer-era jersey: Original:
  13. Whoa, Tripod is still around?!
  14. Most overrated, underrated teams in Coaches Poll - 247
  15. For me, the biggest thing is feeling. Does Iowa feel like a rival to any of you? Can you honestly say that you think of that game any differently than you do games against any of our other conference opponents? Do you feel particularly elated by a victory against them, or crushed by a defeat? Do you think any of the players circle the date of the Iowa game as "the one we gotta win above all else"? I don't know about you, but for me, the answer to those questions is no, and it's not even close. Yeah, obviously I want us to beat Iowa, but no more so than any other conference game. Until that changes, I can't see Iowa as a rival.
  16. If OU ends up joining the Big Ten in a few years, it'll probably take about 6 seconds for Iowa to be dropped as our Black Friday game. (Then again, we do have Minnesota to look forward to in that slot for a couple years. Thanks again, Eichorst.)
  17. Phil Steele's Big Ten projections: https://247sports.com/LongFormArticle/Nebraska-Huskers-Michigan-Wolverines-football-Ohio-State-Buckeyes-Phil-Steele-Big-Ten-order-of-finish-134097135/#134097135_1
  18. Yep, Oklahoma was coming off the Schnellenburger disaster and boarding the John Blake fail train at the time the Big 12 was formed. "Not having to play Nebraska every year anymore? Sounds great, sign us up for that!" Could've done protected cross-division rivalry games, but that would've left Texas playing Missouri or something while Oklahoma had to face Nebraska every year. It would've been a gift to the Longhorns.
  19. Since 1892, Nebraska has had a tradition of playing Missouri for the Victory Bell. Did anyone here ever actually give a rat's a$$ about it, or assign any special meaning to Missouri as a big rival of ours, to a greater extent than they considered any other team in the conference a rival? Just having a trophy doesn't make the game extra meaningful, nor does merely being in the same conference or division.
  20. I still say that Michigan State has been our best series since joining the Big Ten, in competitiveness and enjoyability of the games. Too bad they're not in our division anymore...
