  1. Guess the rumor mill is officially cranking up into overdrive now. Supposedly some Ohio State insider said Oregon, USC, UCLA, and Colorado have been in touch with the Big 10 about possibly joining. Not that I put a whole lot of stock in those rumors, but don't assume you know everything that's being said behind closed doors...
  2. You forgot "and some people will s#!t on him for saying literally anything at all."
  3. I'd consider Georgia Tech if we're raiding the ACC. Gets deeper into the south for recruiting, and might be a more plausible addition anyway since you wouldn't have to try and pry them away from in-state rivals.
  4. I suppose with the Big 12's collapse, the whole bit about having four playoff spots for five power conferences will soon be a moot point. Might actually make sense for the PAC to take some second-tier Big 12 schools just to beef up their football.
  5. Man, 74% returning production... and that's 11th in the conference. I mean not that it's a surprise this year, but... Of course, nobody's gonna miss any of our non-returning RBs and WRs save for Wandale.
  6. @RedSavage Ehh, maybe. I could see having a history of injuries eliminating him from consideration by P5 schools, but I'd still think he could find something at a lower tier. If it were a nagging injury bothering him, I would think he would've just announced his retirement from football a few months ago, instead of going into the portal. Of course, it's not an either/or thing, could have just been one consideration of many.
  7. Man, couldn't find anything? I mean even if he wasn't gonna be starting here, he was still a borderline 4* recruit with a solid offer list - surely somebody would take him. Guess maybe it was a 'heart's not in it anymore' kind of thing?
  8. @MyBloodIsRed16 Tired of this offseason...
  9. @Lorewarn Neither did literally anyone else. Would be kinda hard to, considering that such a situation has never happened.
  10. Yeah, I want another thread full of people reading way to much into/b!^@hing about coach speak.
  11. I suppose if we're discussing picking the corpse of the Big 12, West Virginia is worth mentioning. Certainly the Big Ten would make more sense for them geographically than the Big 12. I don't really see any other reason to bring them in, though.
  12. Didn't stop us from taking Maryland and Rutgers. I've been linking this a lot lately, in various contexts...
  13. Screw it, let's take the whole UNC/NC State/Duke trio!
  14. @FrantzHardySwag I mean, this isn't exactly a surprise. If you've been following things, this is pretty much how it's been expected to play out for a long time now - the next round of conference realignment would happen with the end of the Big 12's current media contracts. Oklahoma in particular has been the subject of a lot of rumors and speculation. Thread from three years ago:
  15. So what? Should we hold it against Suh that he didn't really work in Callahan's defense?
  16. And in a year when other teams are gonna be loaded with super-seniors, no less!
  17. @FrantzHardySwag TBH, that reminds me of what people were saying in 2016, which is kinda scary. Out of our first seven games, only Oregon (#22) was expected to be a tough game. Felt good when we beat Oregon, but they turned out to be a paper tiger, with Helfrich getting the axe at the end of the season. And the remaining year and a half of Riley's tenure from there, well, we all know how that went....
  18. Arguably Lucky's biggest problems were running into his own blocker and inability to find the hole. I suppose an offense that emphasizes creating space would have benefited him.
  19. Did Crouch ever have his ankle stepped on by his center?
  20. I could maybe see 'stealing' in the sense of a local kid opting to take a scholy to UNO over walking on at UNL, maybe.
  21. I think with both groups, it's gonna come down to whether we can stay healthy. At RB, we've got a room full of guys with plenty of potential but a history of injuries. I'm expecting it to be RB by committee, playing whoever is in decent shape that week. At WR I think we've got the best three starters as a group since Frost's first year (and possibly since well before that), but we'd better pray they can stay healthy because I don't feel as good about the depth.
