  1. P.J. Smith #13 6'2" 210 - Safety P.J. Smith is a redshirt freshman, graduated from john curtis high school in louisiana. Top 50 safety according to rivals. Had 85 tackles and 4 picks in his senior year of high school. Prediction: P.J. may see early playing time in a nickel or dime package. Though its hard to tell, looked good in the spring game. Next up: ---------------->Matt May
  2. You are apparently some kind of troll. How am I a troll just because I like Oregon? Especially when I said I like them outside of Nebraska. Trust me, I bleed Husker Red. Not Oregon yellow/green
  3. I like Oregon and their uniforms....they are one of my favorite teams to watch outside of Nebraska and Texas...
  4. I don't know how accurate this is coming from Rivals given the time of the year, but they do have an updated depth chart for Missouri and I was curious as why would one think that they were going to have a shot at beating us starting 11 freshman?! 8 on offense and 3 on defense and I guess they have 6 sophmores starting as well. 2 on offense and 4 on defense. This will probably be good for them in the long haul since they will all be playing together for 3-4 years....could be darn good in 2011. who knows? just thought I'd post.
  5. I was told this back during the season, but the only 2 BCS conference teams that have yet to beat a top 19 team since 2001 is Nebraska, and Duke. Why? Why is Nebraska alone in a category of football with DUKE! I heard this and almost went nuts. Its almost shameful, our beloved huskers need to get off that schnide
  6. Okafor, Ward, Jones even Mendoza will be the 3rd back. If Burkhead has so much talent, that they want him on the field, he would more likely be a WR where they really need someone to step up and almost certainly as a retruner, but not as a 3rd team RB. This staff doesn't seem inclined to burn a redshirt for 3rd team players. Like the previous staff, burning redshirts for special teams.
  7. Niles will play, but I think Meno and Chris Brooks are the ones that need to step up..Antonio Bell is gunna push for playing time, obviously. he was the biggest sleeper of the entire 2008 or 2009 class. whichever one he was, he was the best under-rated kid in the entire class, on the national scale not just nebraska's class.
  8. No, I don't wanna see any throwbacks....I don't wanna see black jerseys either. I would like to see us pound the living crap out of La-Lafayette. 60-0 or else. If the Huskers were to do anything special for the game I'd like us to come out in All Blue....haha no one would even see it coming. The opposition would be so confused haha! I'm just kidding about the all blue though.
  9. I suppose now we have to get a dome......how the hell would we put it in a central location? By the way, I hear that the sound system was suppose to be changed for the upcoming season...or rumor has it anyway. My source is not very reliable though, he's a compulsive liar.....haha.
  10. I was in South stadium with my friends and we were doing the london bridge....locking hands with two people between us and rocking back and forth, causing them to get squished, and my friend proceeded to fall down 2 or 3 rows. lol it was hilarious and I will never forget Henery making that kick, along with suh intercepting that pass
  11. I hate when nebraska wears RED SOCKS....i think its ugly especially with the white pants.... I currently think that the solid black shoe with the ankle high black sock is very sharp.
  12. also look at Baylor's QB....primarily at Baylor for track and he played damn well all year! and he's a true freshman
  13. I find it hard to believe it will be anyone but CODY GREEN because even if he redshirts we'll have him for 2 years after Witt or who ever leaves...and 1 of those years will be an inexperienced one....way to much of a talent to not dumb down the offense if needed and start him as a freshman...he needs on the field...by the time he's a junior and senior he'll flourish because he'll be experienced....does no one else get this?
  14. I figured we'd be hitting JUCO's because of Callahan leaving us in a tough situation in a year or two...we'll only have something like 14 scholly's to give...
  15. Anyone think he'll be productive next year like I think he will? I honestly think he'll be one of the go to targets next season, He broke his leg early in his career here at Nebraska didn't he? after these few years have gone by, I believe he'll have his step back and be ready to contribute. Thoughts?
  16. Who do you guys want if Shawn Watson does in fact leave? Do you think Turner is a choice?
  17. except the fact that it was in fact Blackledge
  18. well if some of you are recruiting junkies you knew when Helu came in that he didn't have GREAT speed. came in running a 4.62 40yd dash
  19. I assume your 40-50 maybe 60 years old? although I agree that Nebraska hasn't deserved any blackshirts this year, to say that you don't wanna see fans with any blackshirts on in reference to "the blackshirts" get over it. If you wanna see a great Husker team, and complain about the current team, then go put in old 90's tapes. People need to realize that before the season started we knew it was going to be a difficult year. Missouri hasn't been stopped by anyone.....yet. Just because we gave up alot of points, doesn't mean it was all the DEFENSES fault. Nebraska's O played like crap and couldn't keep the Mizzou offense off the field.
  20. Ganz ran the shotgun pretty well at the end of last season. I think he'd be effective in the spread. I also think that running the option again would be a huge risk that could have an even greater reward. There is a reason that it worked for so long in college football. Defense's these days are aimed toward stopping the spread. Teams are going for smaller, faster dline and linebackers. Would todays defenses be able to stop a powerful option ground attack? Would option give the Huskers that edge that they once had? Would Cody Green be the man to turn things around? Speed is was kills the Triple Option out of the I formation, not size. So since Defenses are going to Speed rather than size, that would even be worse off than when we ran it in 02- 03
  21. well here, The 2001 Miami team can't be the best ever all of a sudden this year, when 1995 Nebraska has already been the best team ever for quite some time already funny...
  22. Nebraska 21 Virginia Tech 19 (failed two point to put into OT) Rush 79 Pass 278
  23. I'm super excited the Sean McDonough is doing the game on ABC, I dont' think he's done a nebraska football game since he did the 1997 Orange bowl 42-17 victory over Tennessee
